If you are a big sports fan like me, then you probably go to a lot of games. If you go to a lot of games, then you probably have gone to a lot of amazing, memorable, and great games. This thread is a continuation of one that I had long ago where you get to talk about the best sporting events you have seen in person.

For me it's pretty much all baseball. I've seen some great Hockey, Soccer, and Football games but the baseball games had some of the best experiences. Here are my top 6 in order of awesomeness.

1: 2013 Home Run Derby
I was volunteering at the All Star Fan Fest and through that I entered a contest and won tickets to the Home Run Derby. Part of the contest was on the field in between rounds where we got to play The Show off the scoreboard. The actual event itself was amazing. There were in stadium announcers screaming every few seconds, the energy from the crowd was intense, and there were balls flying everywhere. The final round was also magical between Bryce Harper and Yoenis Cespedes. I wanted Harper to win but I was pretty happy once Cespedes went to the Mets. The event part of the event was even better because I played The Show on the field and was given a Bryce Harper jersey. To make things even better, Alex Gordon and Mariano Rivera were standing just a few feet away from the contestants. Also to make things even better I won the contest and took home a PS3, a Vita, and a cabinet. I still use the Vita and cabinet.

2: 2015 NLCS
I can't remember if it was game 1 or game 2 of the NLCS but it was magical. It was the first time the Mets were in the playoffs in almost a decade and the first time the Cubs made it in who knows how long. The matchup itself was historical and I was able to get a very good deal on good seats. Plus it was my first New York playoff game ever so it was even more magical. It was a great pitching duel and I got to witness first hand the monstrous playoff streak of Daniel Murphy when he became the first player to ever hit a home run in 6 straight playoff games. If it was a world series game, it could have easily been the best sporting event I have ever been to but it was still right there at the very top.

3. Jose Fernandez MLB debut
I love going to baseball games during the first week of the season for the Mets. Other than opening day, games near the start of the season are usually much cheaper. So I went to a game that was really cheap because the Mets wanted to start a pitcher nobody heard of called Aaron Laffey. For the first 2 innings the Mets couldn't hit at all. I even tried leaving after 2 innings. But there was a reason why they were doing so bad. It was because the Marlins pitcher was Jose Fernandez. At the time I had no idea who he was so the game didn't really mean anything but as Jose started playing more and more it became more obvious of how great a pitcher he was and how magical his debut really was. If I could I would go back and watch that game as well as a couple of his other starts.

4: Masahiro Tanaka Shutout
One day I said **** it, I'm going to cough up the money and go see a subway series game. On May 14th, 2014 I went to my 1st and only subway series game ever and it was amazing. Sure if I had gone the next day I would have seen Jacob deGrom make his debut but this was just as good. The matchup was amazing, one of the most hyped subway series games ever. For the Mets, Rafael Montero was making his debut. At the time he one of the Mets best pitching prospects. The Yankees had Masahiro Tanaka. It was a few weeks after his MLB debut and he was in the middle of an amazing season. Of course I wanted the Mets to win but after like 5 innings everyone was cheering for Tanaka to get his first shutout, which he did. A shutout is a shutout and it was a lot of fun to watch with so much energy from everyone.

Well my favorite sports are baseball and football (American ). I have never been to a college or pro football game.

However, I did attend some of my high school football games. One game was a playoff game during my junior year. My school's football team made the playoffs the previous 2 years but were put out in the first round.  Our opponent was heavily favored over us. Well the game was a thriller and good defense battle. We rallied in the 4th Quarter we got a touch down, extra point and then a safety. We won 9-7. We advanced to the second round in an upset.

Now I have been to major league baseball games.

My favorite one was in in 2014. In 2014 I got to go to a conference in Denver CO. It so happened that the Colorado Rockies were in town. When one of the members learned I was a Rockies fan she took me and some others to a game. We were behind first base and had really good seats. Coors Field is a nice ballpark. There were lots of home runs hit as the ball carries due to the elevation. It was a good time

Another game was when I was a Senior in High School. I got to see the Reds take on the Orioles. I like the Reds as well as Orioles so this was a treat for me. I got to get some of my favorite Reds autographs. The Reds won the game 7-5.

When I was younger about 14/15. I got to go to an Astros Game. After the game I got to meet and get autographs. Some of the players I met were Hall of famers Craig Biggio and Jeff Bagwell. I also met the late Ken Camaniti, Scott Elarton, Jose Cruz SR who was one of the coaches and other players

It's hard to pick just a few, since I've attended events for a lot of sports both in my country and elsewhere, but I'll try my best to make a top 4 of sorts. Be warned, though, long epic post coming ahead xD

1. First Race, First Win

In 2016, ahead of the Spanish round of the Formula One World Championship, some negotiations ensued between the teams of Red Bull and Toro Rosso. Due to some underperformance by Red Bull driver Daniil Kvyat, the Russian was demoted to the second team, and in his stead was placed a young but extremely talented Max Verstappen, which Red Bull had for the next big star of the sport.

When the race started, the leading Mercedes cars collided and spun out of race, leaving both Red Bull cars leading the race ahead of the Ferraris and with the chance to win. Different strategies allowed Verstappen to sit on the lead as the race approached the final laps, with one of the Ferraris pressuring him right behind. Despite his inexperience, Verstappen left no openings, and so managed to cross the line in first place.

The next rising star was crowned on that day, and I've been a fan of his ever since. His aggressive style, his ruthlessness... I'm hoping that he can have a much better engine for the incoming season and fight more evenly with the leading cars.

2. The awaited match

Just last December, I attended my first ever Futsal match. Of course, I picked the best of matches, with the top two teams of our country's league, Barça Lassa and Movistar Inter, facing off in my city. I was excited to see the best players in action, and it surely didn't disappoint.

The match was filled with action since the first moment. Barça gained an early lead with 2-0 as we approached the first 10 minutes of play. However, the "Green Machine" was yet to show its fangs, and when they deployed their powerhouses the tides turned heavily, enabling the match to go 2-2 to the end of the first half.

The second half promised just as much action. Any attempt to attack was countered with another attempt, and so the action went back and forth. Barça managed to get the lead twice again, but Inter managed to catch up to keep the match tied. At 4-4, it seemed that both teams had given their all, but with 3 minutes to go, Inter went for the win and placed their "goalkeeper player" in position, allowing them to outnumber the defenses at the cost of leaving the goal unattended.

Eventually, they couldn't break the solid defense, and the match ended up tied. I thought on why didn't Barça attempt the same strategy to seal the match once and for all, but I was nonetheless amazed for the show and already planning which other matches would be worth watching live.

3. Starting the "Nadalmania"

In 2005, I attended my second tennis tournament. I had a blast the previous year, getting to meet several of the sports' stars and also a handful of autographs, so the hype was very intense (even more because I was merely 12 back then).

There was a certain Spanish player who had been captivating the world. At just 18, he promised to challenge the tyrannical reign of Federer, and was hailed as the grandmaster of clay courts. There was a high expectation to see him play in the central court as the next local star, now that we already had former number 1s besides several Grand Slam champions, and the boy didn't disappoint in the slightest.

Time has made me forget most of what happened back then, but I do remember how he moved from side to side, returning every single ball thrown at him and making the crowd stand up in excitement. It's by far the most exciting tennis match I've been able to see live, despite me having worked as a ballboy in one occasion and thus being part of the action in several games, and I only wish I could remember it better (or the young me had paid more attention so my brain could have recollected more memories).

The man was named Rafael Nadal, truly a living legend of the sport nowadays. However, as I had imagined back then, Nadal's playstyle would take a heavy toll on his body as years passed, and now I have the hunch he could call it quits after next year's Olympics.

4. Not One, But Two World Records

In March 2017, I attended for the first time a Ski Jumping event, more precisely a Ski Flying event, in the Vikersundbakken of Norway. Not called "Monster Hill" for nothing, witnessing recurrent jumps at and over 800 feet in distance was truly a sight to remember. Even if there was a clear lack of snow, those three days were something very special.

In the team competition, with four jumpers per nation, we started quite pessimistic as we had a long delay due to wind. As the night fell upon us, competition started quite promising. Then, in the second group, Norwegian jumper Robert Johansson landed a world record 827 feet jump, which turned the audience crazy.

I was still grasping the moment, but just half an hour later, in the last group, Austria's Stefan Kraft landed quite clumsily a very long jump, which showed in the screens as 832 feet. I was overjoyed by the fact I saw a new world record right away, and while the audience welcomed it as well, the atmosphere was of disappointment that their record was snatched so quickly.

For the first time ever you witness an event to turn out like this... I guess that's the reason why I was in a bad luck streak, I emptied it all on that day (and even if so, I wouldn't regret it). I have pending going to another venue this March, the only other hill capable of holding a world record, so let's see if I don't have to edit this later on.

Ok, I'm struggling to remember here. I know I've been to 3 Islanders playoff games. I have 3 rally towels hanging on the wall in my room at my dad's house. Unfortunately, I am at my mom's house, so I can't check what the years are on them. I know I went to Round 1 Game 4 in 2013 against the Penguins, and Round 1 Game 3 in 2015 against the Capitals. They were both fantastic games. The Islanders won both, and the atmosphere at the Coliseum was insane. The third game must have been in 2016, because I'm pretty sure it was at the Barclays Center. The only problem is, I was in California for most of the 2016 playoffs. So I'm not sure when I would have been able to go. I can't remember it, so I guess that means they must have lost lol.

The most fun game was 2013 against the Penguins. The Coliseum was so loud, and the game was super entertaining. The crowd was getting under all of the Penguins' players skin. We ended up winning 6-4. It will be hard for any game to top that one.

The 2015 game was also really exciting. We ended up winning 2-1, after he who shall not be named scored less than a minute into overtime. Not quite as good as the game against the Penguins, but still a great experience.

For me it was easily watching my home town team Leicester City win the premier league in football (not American lol)

I'm pretty sure at least some users have heard of the story here, especially if you care about sports in general as it was pretty much the biggest upset in Football for a long time, and was basically called a fairy tale. It was amazing and it still makes me giddy and happy to this day even if it has calmed down a lot...

I mean there was that one time I was in the team that came 2nd In the UK dodgeball national Championships. Had to qualify through a tournament to even get there too. Fun times.. Still got the trophy from it as well.

Well, other than a couple of WWE wrestling events that I attended, I haven't really attended to any other sporting events. Although my brother is planning on buying some tickets to attend to the New Orleans Pelicans taking on the Toronto Raptors on March 8th at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, which will be my first NBA game that I'm attending, although that is as long as I remember though, I might have when I was little, but it's been soo long, I forgot :/

Ok, I definitely have to update this now. This may just be recency bias, but I went to John Tavares' return to Long Island at Nassau Coliseum on 2/28, and it may have taken the top spot for best sporting event I've ever been to. The crowd was deafening. Every time Tavares stepped on the ice the arena erupted with boos. It felt like the roof was going to blow off the place after every goal - all 6 of them. Some of the chants we came up with were incredible and super creative - "Who's your daddy?" "It's your bed time!" "Where's your jammies?" And of course, "We don't need you!" Overall, incredible experience. Definitely worth the 4 hour drive from Binghamton.
