I grew up in the late 80's and 90's, so the Atari 2600 was long before my time and I never even heard of it when I was a kid, but I see a lot of YouTube vids about that legendary console and how influential it was and so on. So, did anyone here actually own one? If so, what was it like to play the console (instead of playing the old Atari games on an emulator)?

My dad told me about when he got his Atari 2600. Sadly he didn't have it anymore by the time I was around.

LieselSolo : I had an atari back in the 80,s and back then there were a lot of classic video games that came out such as pacman and centipede which were made by atari there were also many other companies that made atari games such as parker brothers, activision and saga just to name a few the classic games to me were some of the best ones that atari had but some of the older games such as night driver and human cannonball didn,t have very good graphics compared to the classics there were also 2 kinds of game controllers that the games were played with the joystick which was used for games like pacman and q bert and the paddle controller for games like encounter at l-5 which can also be found on Viz but i have never been able to play it  when I first got my atari in 1982 I started off with 7 games then built my collection up to 127 before I had to sell it about 10 years ago
