For those of you who don't know, Happy Death Day was a "horror" movie that came out near the end of 2017. Normally I get super scared by scary movies and hate them, but i really liked this one for some reason.

It was very clever and a bit strange, it was silly, and it was even scary now and then.

It's about this girl who dies. And then she dies again and again and again. She keeps coming back to life and reliving the same day. (They totally ripped this off from Edge of Tomorrow/Live Die Repeat/All You Need Is Kill)

I liked it and a few days after the movie came out the director said he wanted to do a sequel that shows why the day was resetting in the first place and now it's finally coming out.

It comes out very soon, like next month, and the trailer looks good.

I think I was and then I never actually bothered to see it. My wife doesn't do horror movies very well and I've got kids so finding the time for movies like this is tough.

I do want to see the original movie and this sequel. Not because I think they will be well done horror but more because of comedy horror styles like Shaun of the Dead. I like both the serious style and the comedy style of horror.

geeogree : I like the comedy horrors a lot more than regular horrors. I liked Shaun of the Dead, I loved Krampus, and even Anna and the Apocalypse was amazing.

Well, I think each type has its place in the horror genre but I definitely prefer those 2 types.

I dislike the gore/porn type movies like Hostel though. To me they have no place in the horror genre. I don't care if horror has nudity but too many movies over the last decade or 2 have focused more on that than on actually making a good movie. Good horror seems so rare now that it's hard to work through everything else.
