the hardest boss for me to beat was yunalesca in ff10. it took me awhile to beat her because she had three forms and she kept useing death.

Mine would have to be...hmm..wait, this was easy..and I sucked at that..wait..UGH WHY IS IT SO HARD TO CHOOSE!

It was Tiamat (Yes, I have yet to see Ozma and Quale in action.) from Final Fantasy IX.
First off, he absorbs your attack and defense, which will annoy you.
Second, he has this DEVASTATING attack called Jet Fire. It blows the s*** out of your party. It does piles of damage, and Heat status, so if you were attacking before that move, say bye bye.

I say its deffinately Seymoure from FFX. Not only was he an annoying recurring boss he also had the cheapest forms in the whole game. I can't fathome the name right now but when you fight him on mount Gagazette he is just way to cheap. A common combo from him was:
Him:
Lance of Atrophy (Inflicts Zombie) on my healer.
Full life (Damages Zombies) on said healer.
Me: Hastega on my party
Pheonix Down on dead healer
Him:
Cross Cut
Whole party nearly Dead
Me: Curaga
Him cheap missle attack thing and then start all over.

The hardest boss for me is the ruby weapon in ffVII

I think its the emerald weapon from V11. Its under the ocean and does a ton of dameage. I had 4000 damage+ in each hit and the thing barely lost health. Then it had a ton of 1 HIT K.0 S AND took me 50 tries to beat.

Shinryu from FF5. Open a random chest in final dungeon to fight him unknowingly and have to start over from last save. Very annoying. Hardest story boss is Zeromus from FF4, it took so much grinding to beat him.

Well i forgot its name but its from FFXII and have 50million hp and after half the battle it increases its defense so you can max hit i think it whas 4999 and with 2 million hp left he takes over one of your team members

His name is Yiazmat. But the Japanese Ultamania Guide has a "quick" 50 minute guide on beating him instead of spending 2 hours.

chugchu : Yeah Shinryu definitely... I never really did beat Omega or Shinryu in that game XD
Zeromus was hard? Well, it wasn't so bad for me(I guess my party was pretty leveled up.) But for me, the worst story boss I had to deal with was in FFVI. Technically you don't HAVE to fight him, but if you wanted to get all your characters back you do. Magimaster(at least, it was called that in the US SNES version) in the... I think Cultist's Tower was what it was called... would use Ultima in the very end of the battle no matter what and you'd have to be able to tell when you kill him, or use Jump to have at least one surviving member. Pretty brutal...

As for me, the worst "secret" boss that I managed to beat was Minerva from Crisis Core VII. If you fight her, you'd have to have wicked high stats and great dodging skills, as well as really powerful materia to beat it(preferably Costly Punch and SP Master) because basically every move she uses kills you immediately without powerful materia(99,999 damage... what the heck?). Luckily, stealing from her gives you 99 Phoenix Down at once. BUT, if you manage to survive, she'd use her Judgment Arrow, which can bypass the Raise status... it was so ridiculously hard...

mdynasty926 : I forgot about the Magimaster guy. But you could kinda cheat and equip Mog with Moogle Charm so you can skip all random battles. This made you at least have full HP and MP when you reached him. But yeah, the Ultima thing after he died always pissed me off.

chugchu : Yeah actually, I did use the Moogle Charm XD But it was still pretty hard to beat without some intense level grinding or strategy.

man i remember long time ago i forgot what final fantasy it was but the boss was called ruby i beleave took me like a week to figure out how to beat it look up ruby boss you'll probably see what i mean

iBOCK : As tragic as that is, I think this thread is geared more towards Final Fantasy bosses lol.

I think the two weapons Ruby and Emerald were some of the hardest that I've fought. At least they are the ones that I remember lol. I've had FFVII for years now and I still haven't beaten them (mostly from lack of wanting to level up lol)

Emerald Weapon was the most frustrating boss I ever encountered. I got into battle and three seconds in, it just wiped the floor with my characters.

Hidden Boss Ozma from FF9. He was rediculously hard. He was the only boss I couldn't beat without looking up a guide on how to do it. And even with the guide it was still rediculous. That gas he uses that inflicts all status problems (including Death) wiped me out I don't know how many times.

yuna-freaking-lesca in her last form... my crush on that woman died with every one of my characters she pwned... plus i didnt know thats what she really looked like... she IS hot in her 1st form tho x)

That's a toughie... Hm... I can only pick one... Um... Hm.. Well, there was Yiazmat from FF12... Then again, Yunalesca was really hard... Ozma was rediculous... but, in the end, I am going to have to say Neo Exdeath was the hardest for me. Don't ask me why, it was just a huge jump in difficulty and strength from his tree form to his Neo form... I hated him so...

definitely Emerald Weapon in Final Fantasy VII. Had to look up so many different strategies and ask friends to help me out with it. Ended up trying to get the 7777 thing going before i went into battle, and training my materia for a couple hours beforehand just to be ready for it. Not something I would look forward to doing again .
