Before you say that this should belong in the School forum rather than the Your Forum forum, this thread is about my personal experiences with the extremely corrupt school I go to, as well as how they threat other students here. Below I will list multiple issues and experiences I have had with this awful school. 1. Hat and Phone Rule - My school has this rule, a rule which makes no sense to even have, which are the worst kinds of rules. You are not allowed to wear a hat at school. Fine, I know a lot of schools that do this, while I may not agree with it, it's not exclusive to my school. The part where s*** hits the fan is when they incorporate another part into this rule, where they (they being any staff member at the school) can take your hat without permission, and to get it back you have to either pay the school 5 dollars or wait 3 days to get it back. The same thing happens with phones if your phone gets taken up. Excuse me what? Are you seriously so desperate for money that you MAKE THE STUDENTS, MOST OF WHICH DO NOT HAVE JOBS, PAY TO GET THEIR OWN PROPERTY THAT THEY PAID FOR BACK. Ladies and gentlemen, this is literally holding something for ransom. You know what the worst part is? There's nothing anyone can do about it. The school makes you sign a contract that let's the school do all this horrid stuff to you, and most of the time, the parents are the ones forcing their kids to go to school here, either that or they have no choice BUT to go here because they don't live close enough to any other school. 2. Green Hot Dogs - So, in my Junior year, there was this one kid who took a picture of a green hot dog he got served. Oh, actually, not just him, but the entire school were served hot dogs that looked like this, among various other odd-looking food items. Don't believe me? Here's proof: https://www.wvlt.tv/content/news/Lenoir-City-High-School-leaders-address-questionable-lunches-446563933.html That's right. The pictures you can see in that link are what they serve the school. It got so bad the media picked up on it. There are even more pictures that my friends took. So, the right thing to do would be to solve the issue and fix the lunches, right? Well, guess what the school does instead? They suspend the kid who sent the pictures to his parents, who sent the pictures to the media, and ignore the actual problem and continue to serve food that looks like this. 3. Abusive/Racist Teachers and Administrators - Yes, you read that correctly. Unfortunately, racism is rampant in this school. I remember one time there was a fight between two students, but guess who got the more severe punishment? The one who was attacked. Why? Because the administrator who gave him his punishment of 5 DAYS OF SUSPENSION FOR DEFENDING HIMSELF is a confirmed racist at this point. He only does stuff like this to Hispanic students Happens every time. Now, for my experience with an abusive teacher. Sometime around September and October last year, I accidentally spraypainted the school wall. This pissed the teacher off, no surprise there. The next day, they got the paint off quite easily, completely gone. However, this teacher seems to like holding grudges. She did the following to me over the course of two months: She gave me extra work and less time to complete that work than the other students, she talked s*** about me behind my back TO THE ENTIRE CLASS I.E. MY FRIENDS. She directly told me she hopes I end up in prison one day. She did everything in her power to get me into trouble when I have done nothing wrong. So, I go to the office, thinking they could help me. Guess what? They don't believe me. At all. I tell my mom. My mom talks to the administrator. He says he'll tell the teacher to not do that again. Take a guess at what the administrator didn't do. So, my mom tells him again, after incidents keep happening. The administrator still fails to take action. Instead, he lets it go on for even longer. So, a third time, my mom tells them to do something. This time, they actually do! It only took us 3 times to tell you! He basically tells her "stop that" and pulls me out of the classroom after repeatedly asking him to do it in the first place. I could go on and on about how awful this school really is. There's a lot that has happened in the 4 years I have gone here. Thankfully, I am at my last semester of being at this school and am taking online classes this time, so I won't have to go to that school ever again besides for graduation. I hope you all end up in a much better school than this. 1. Hat and Phone Rule - My school has this rule, a rule which makes no sense to even have, which are the worst kinds of rules. Wow, that' absurd, sorry your school is like that.
My school also had the stupid "no hats" rule, and would take them if you were told more than once to take them off, but forcing students to pay to get their own property back is ridiculous. I don't even know how that's legal. Suspending a student for pointing out that the school is serving rotten food is another absurd abuse of power. That should have been an even bigger news story than the rotten food itself. It's a good thing you're getting out of there soon, at least. Best of luck making it to June lol. Wow that school should be closed down no offense.
Sure let's suspend the kid who took a picture of rotten food instead of idk serving actually edible food that won't make you sick. And to be fair school's have a problem with punishing the kid who fought back instead of the instigator, but with how awful your school is I wouldn't be surprised if they were racist. The only similar experience at my high school is how my drama teacher is like, bad and really quick to jump to assumptions. One time this boy was talking to me about how upset he was with what happened during rehearsal and was about to blackout due to being so upset. The teacher automatically thought he was talking about him and called security on him. I tried telling him that he wasn't talking about him at all but he ignored everything I said despite the fact I'd have no reason to lie. I'm not his friend. He was also being an ass during the night of the choir concert when we were rehearsing before then to the point that our choir teacher had to tell him to knock it off lol. I've known about your struggles at your school for quite some time now, and I've always thought everyone who worked at that place was terrible. I wish good schools were more widespread, I don't know why they keep hiring terrible people for teachers. It makes no sense to me. |
