So, if you haven't seen it yet, the vote is live.

According to David, I have 738 points, which I think is the second or third highest total among the eligible userbase. My struggle is I like a lot of people, but I want to be fair.

I don't want to swing the entire election with one or two votes (unless that's what you want), because I'm not sure that's fair to the community. By that same coin, however, I want to vote, and have a voice.

Should I vote for five people, who each got around 150 points? Or just one person who gets all 738? Or somewhere in between?

Vote and tell me your opinion

Here's the poll

What I will be doing with a fairly large amount of points is vote for 5 people. Why? Because there are probably about 10 of the users who applied that I support as mod, and I wish I could vote for them. I think you should should simply vote for who you think would be a great mod. If there are only 2 that you think would be great, then vote for 2; if you think there are 12 of the them that would be great, then choose your top 5.

I can't speak for everyone else but if you're worried about swinging the election (assuming this is the system we're sticking to) I think the most fair would be to spread it out. As it stands, if you focus all your votes on one person that person may very likely go through given the high amount of mods that are being hired, even if no one else votes for them. But there may be people who would say the opposite. Ultimately it's up to you, it may very well just best to vote based on how you want to vote and nothing else.

I agree with LK and Zlinqx. If you’re really set on one person, sure, give them all of your points, but if you want to be “most fair” find 5 good candidates that you think would do a good job, and spread them out.

Hopefully, there will be enough people voting that, while your total point number is large, it won’t make THAT much of an impact in the election.

I have 537 votes, which is also a fair amount, and I know that I’ll be spreading them out with at least three users. But you know, vote your conscious.

Even 150 points could even tip it a lot and make it too unfair for others. But of course, since there's going to be 10 spots, 1 person who gets a lot wouldn't make too much of a difference.

Go for 5.

I might not even vote, I got 880 and I wouldn't know how to be fair lol.

Though there is a flaw with David's system. If the newbie multiplier is 0, then all their votes are automatically 0 points.

zanderlex : I don't think that was an error... I think he made it like that so no one could register today and have a vote that matters by the time a week goes by. You'd have to get people to make you into a trusted member in order to have a vote and we'd probably notice that sort of thing happening.

I personally like that idea.

As for votes - I spread mine out. I realize I could have picked just 1 person but I think there are quite a few that will do a good enough job to be voted in. Plus, picking 1 person does make it seem like there is some sort of collusion going on in order to get picked.

To be honest just do who you want, you may have a lot, but in the end it's really up to you. Me I just voted with who I feel would be nice as a mod.
