So I think - hope - this post is going into the right place. I sometimes find the site a bit confusing and I'm sometimes a little fuzzy on what is and isn't RGR, but I think that anything related to an emulator is still an RGR issue even for an HTML5 emulator that doesn't use the plugin? I also did my best to see if anyone's already posted about this but it doesn't look like they have, so here goes.

As of a few days ago, the HTML5 emulator NeptunJS refuses to load for me. I don't mean it doesn't load the game, either; the tab that opens for the emulator is completely blank, not even a black rectangle where the emulator would normally be. I've tried it with multiple games on multiple systems (SMS, GEN, PSX), but no dice.

The emulator itself still seems to work; I found a couple of other sites using it, and they work without issue, including the neptunjs.xyz project site. My primary browser is Chrome, and I did notice that there was a security warning on the address bar for "This page is trying to load scripts from unauthenticated sources," so I clicked that and clicked "Load unsafe scripts," but even after the page refreshed, still blank. I tried Firefox for the next step in case it was Chrome trying to child-proof everything again, but still got a blank page, and no security warnings this time. I even tried it on an entirely separate computer; blank page. I'm stumped.

The other HTML5 emulators still work as they did before. Normally this wouldn't really be a big issue, but NeptunJS was my favourite by far because it ran very smoothly at almost all times and supported a ridiculous number of systems, plus I loved using the RF-Video shader for 8- and 16-bit games. Worst of all, I'd been using it to play my favourite old RPGs, Phantasy Star and Phantasy Star IV, and it turns out that the save states created by NeptunJS aren't the standard ones used by most emulators, so my playthroughs are stopped completely unless I want to start all over again in a different emulator. Any thoughts on how I can get things going again? IS it actually just on my end, or is it a site-wide problem?

I tried to get NeptuneJS to work myself briefly, and it might be related to the recent https change.
They seem to be running on HTTP instead. We can let the appropriate people know and hopefully switching it over will get it fixed.

Either way, we would recommend using the plug-in, as it works better.
It actually embeds the emulator executable into a flash window and gives a lot more functionality than the HTML5 emulators such as saves, save states, screen shots, video recording to name a few.

Good news! I got bored today, had another bash at it, and got it working again, at least on my end.

I had to mess around with the developer tools in Chrome for a while on both the play.php page here and also the example pages on the NeptunJS project site before I could figure anything out, but I finally found the problem, and the best part is it can all be fixed on Vizzed with no need to worry about NeptunJS. Basically, the play.php page points to the wrong URL for the NeptunJS script. Currently, it points to HTTP://mem.neptunjs.xyz/neptun/gge/njsLoader.js. However, according to the NeptunJS website, the script URL should actually be https://mem.neptunjs.com/njs/njsLoader.js, which also takes care of the HTTPS matter. Also, the gameURL variable still points to the old HTTP location for the game's ZIP file, causing NeptunJS to report a download error, but switching that URL to HTTPS makes it load perfectly.

Currently I can simply load the page through Chrome's developer tools which allows me to inject the modified play.php, reload and play as before, but obviously this won't work for anybody else using the site until it's implemented server-side. Just two lines to change though, and in the meantime I've got my playthroughs back on track!

Could you possibly make a tutorial on how to do this? I don't know how to properly edit stuff in the developer tools. I can't configure the analog sticks with the Mednafen emulator so I was going to try NeptunJS but I am getting the same blank white page as the op.
