i voted gameplay because i believe that what makes it popular is the multiplayer. the campaign is good but i really only played it once, 99%percent of my time i spent playing it was multiplayer. and theres all sorts of mods for it and lets not forget halo custom edition which lets people make their own map with different vehicles/weapons.

I'm not up to par with Halo but I think its like all those other well known games like COD, WoW, etc... I think the amount of people who play it make it what it is cause hype is the best tool to get attention. They might have good game play but they also have just as much hype so its hard to tell.

I think the biggest thing is all the hype it gets. There are plenty of games that are just as good, if not better than this game, but they don't have as much hype as this one so therefore it's less popular. People just like doing what everyone else is doing.
