We are whoever they ask us to be,
The running hoards beneath their feet,
Ice cold glares, and insults to prod,
Displacing our trust in our faiths to our gods.

A lack of unity leading to our own demise,
We've fallen for their pretense and their disguise.
Until the day comes that we look beneath the skin,
These shielded jesters will continue to win.

We continue being herded with false safety behind a mask,
Hiding our fears and disappointments behind a foggy flask.
One more drink, to our success and ignorance.
While those in charge continue to avoid seeking penance.
