RGR Plugin Games back up but saving may not work
The games that require the RGR Plugin are back up. The reason it took longer for them to come back up is because changing the file permissions of files on a linux server takes longer than what it does on a windows server, I didn't know that so my estimates were off. For some people (about half of everyone at the moment), the save files probably wont work right away because it's still updating the file permissions for a lot of users, it should be done updating this within 12-24 hours. Everyone can still play any game with the RGR Plugin but only half of you will be able to load and save your game progress. Screenshot taking with the RGR Plugin will work.

Java emulator games will be down until probably Monday
The games that require a Java emulator will be down until Monday night probably (central time zone). The reason for this is because a lot of them don't seem to work on the new linux server, this is also something I wasn't expecting so therefore I couldn't prepare for. I've come up with a solution though but it'll take a few days to do. No save files will be lost.


I'm sorry for all this inconvenience, it's not something I could have prepared for or expected. A lot of my time has been invested into this and a lot of money has gone down the drain ($500+ since both the previous servers were purchased but didn't work out, not to mention the 3 month purchase of the new server costing $1000+).

We're on the new server and all the files except the Game Room have been transferred. There might be a few features that are currently unavailable but those will be fixed within 12-36 hours. The Game Room and all the save files should be up within 24 hours.

The site might be a little slow for the next few hours but I've done some tests and once everything is complete, I know for sure that the site will be way faster.

It turns out that the new server just isn't working out so we have to migrate to another server yet again. I've decided to switch from a Windows server to a Linux server and I'll also be getting some assistance from godaddy with setting up the new server so there's no reason why the migration should go wrong this time.

The game room games will not be playable during this time but they should be playable again within 24 hours. The other parts of the site will probably be available for most of the 24 hour migration but there may be some down time.

The transferring of the files finished about 2 days ago, so everyone should be able to save and load their save files. Site maintenance isn't over yet though.

The new server is having the same issues as the previous, I'm not sure what's causing it but I'll be spending the next few days trying to figure it out. In the mean time, the site will still be slow. The site will be fast again, we all just need patience.

The transferring of the Retro Game Room save files is taking longer than expected, there's about 750,000+ save files at around 40 GB total. The loading and saving in the RGR should be ready within 8 hours. The rest of the site will work but there might be some down time during the next 8 hours.

Sorry for this inconvenience and I thank you all for your patience. Trust me, this will all be worth it by the time it's finished.

The Server Maintenance / Transfer is almost finished, it should be finished within 12 hours. Until that time, the Retro Game Room games will be down but almost everything else on the site should work.

Server Maintenance in 30 Minutes so be sure to save your progress and quit your games. You'll still be able to use most portions of the website but the games will go down in 30 minutes. The site shouldn't go down but we'll see. The games should be playable again within 24 hours.

The Server Maintenance mentioned in the previous announcement will be delayed by up to 16 hours. I'll make another announcement 1-2 hours before the maintenance begins.

Server Maintenance Scheduled for tomorrow at this time. It'll start between 7 and 8 PM central time on Tuesday and end sometime on Wednesday.

I'll be transferring the site over to a new and even better server. The current server has had some sudden issues with it causing it to run slower than usual. The new server should be twice as fast as the site previously was and easily 10 times faster than what it is now.

I'll make another announcement before the maintenance begins. The RGR games will probably be down during the maintenance but the rest of the site should be functional.

After the recent maintenance, most of you will have to sign into the RGR to play your games. If you play a game while logged out, you wont be loading your save file but instead will be loading a public save file. To load the proper save file, be sure to log into the RGR, even if it shows you already logged in on the forum pages, you still need to login again to be logged into the RGR.

There's still things that need to be fixed and those things will be fixed soon but most of the site should work fine.

1. Better Search Engine Rankings (means more traffic)

3. Possibly fixed cookie issues with google chrome
4. Vizzed.com index is no longer a redirect
5. Opens the door for 2 features which will be available soon (and also future features)
