Generation 5. people have been waiting for this. information has begun to slowly leak out into the world. how do you think the game will be? I found a picture of a sillouette of a new pokemon they are including.



I also stole some info from Bulbapedia, this it what it says:

In an expected move, Game Freak has announced a new generation of Pokémon today during Pokémon Sunday by revealing the first Generation V Pokémon. Many details are unknown at this point, but it is known that the new Pokémon will be starring in the next Pokémon movie, Ruler of Illusions Z, with it said that the Pokémon "grasps the key" to the movie.

Generation V has been anticipated since the release of Pokémon Platinum Version. Its release is expected to be in 2010 for the Nintendo DS, following the earlier announcement on the Japanese Pokémon website.

The new Pokémon was only shown in silhouette. The Pokémon's full revelation will come on the episode of Pokémon Sunday on Feb. 21. Some sites have reported that this mysterious Pokémon is Z itself, but as of now this is purely speculation, apparently based on an announcement earlier in the program that Z would be revealed in that same program on Feb. 21.

I think that you should have put this in the thread I made about generation V already... (please, mods, don't get mad at me for saying that, I can't help myself, I wish I was a mod so no one could get mad at me for modding...), and that I REALLY hope it is cool like that suggested pic. They need good pokemon. And I'm going to go ahead and guess that that pokemon is a dark type?

Ok, we all know that pokemon isn't going to be shutting down for a long amount of time, but generation V is going to have to be very good for pokemon to keep a captive audience. I expect many more reveals like this one about the new pokemon. For all we know this could be the next Arceus for the 5th Gen.

In the games of the 5th gen, there are going to be some MAJOR changes if they want people to buy it. The whole 'get the 7 badges and move on' thing is OLD. The Pokemon Company needs to find new ideas, and those new ideas will probably be expressed in these new games. Maybe in these games you need to rescue a kidnapped leader, or use a new device to communicate with pokemon and destroy the evil guys. Whatever it is it needs to be different.

For the show, Ash needs to be older. The fact that he hasn't aged at all since gen 1 is not only creepy, but is becoming a little boring for the viewing audience. I hope that this new series doesn't even have Ash as the main prodigy. Create a sort of 20 years later seen, and maybe have some of the pokemon be extinct like Kabuto and Omanyte now. Maybe have the show focused around searching for these pokemon, who knows.

Also, the Heart Gold and Soul Silver games are probably just a way for them to stall so that they have time to complete the 5th saga. Kind of like the Ipad for apple.

All in all I think that this drawing and shadow of a new pokemon are pretty cool. This shows that these people are still flowing with ideas, and can still make a new generation of arguably the greatest game series ever work.

Sorry, I was looking for a gen 5 thread, but I couldn't find one. but still, if the new pokemon does look like the fan-colored one, it it DEFINATELY gunna be on my team. they need to make some more rad-looking pokemon in this one. oh, and its coming out THIS YEAR!!! but late this year, though.
