This game is being released on both the XBOX 360 and the Playstation 3. According to IGN's PS3 and Xbox sites the release date for this game is currently: April 30, 2010.

According to FinalFantast13.org: The world of XIII will have the most technologically advanced culture ever seen in a Final Fantasy game. The people in it have lived alongside magic for so long that it has become irreversibly integrated into both their technology and their everyday lives.

Final Fantasy XIII has been described by the developers as the 'light' to Final Fantasy Versus XIII's 'shadow', though it has been specifically stated that the two games do not take place in the same world or society, even though both stories share the same creation mythology based around the Crystals.

According to IGN: "In Final Fantasy XIII, players will embark on a journey through the cityworld of Cocoon and the outerworld of Pulse, encountering and fighting alongside a diverse group of allies. Execute powerful attacks with weapons and magic, and summon the enigmatic Eidolons with an evolved Active Time Battle system. Experience seamless transitions between real-time gameplay and in-game cinematics. Do you have the courage to face your destiny?"

Verses WILL BE a PS3 exclusive release. No current release date could be found.

According to FinalFantast13.org: The world of Final Fantasy Versus XIII that exists within the last city to control the Crystal, as well as it's culture, is directly equatable to ours. The world outside the city, on the other hand, is much more medieval, and outsiders wage an ongoing war against the city and its residents. Their goal? To take control of the Crystals, and thus control magic.

According to IGN: "Versus is the story of a young king sworn to defend the last crystal in the world from the "hectic order" outside of his kingdom. It's a fight between ancient and modern technology, and the struggle of one king to protect the old ways."

Final Fantasy Agito XIII

Final Fantasy Agito XIII is an online RPG in development for mobile phones, and is being developed by the same team as Before Crisis and Crisis Core. The title, "Agito" is Latin for 'to put in motion'.

Players will be able to choose one of twelve characters. The characters are students at a the Periticium school of magic, and in the game, players will control the daily life of their character and interact with fellow students.

According to the developers, Final Fantasy Agito XIII will be much more open-ended than their first Final Fantasy game for mobile phone, Before Crisis, which had a mission-based format.

Wow.. thats pretty cool. I guess its kinda like FF10 and FF10-2.

I think the Final Fantasy versus XIII looks like it will be an awesome game.

IF its anything like FFX (great game (Y)) and FFX-2 (which sucked hardcore) than ill be very disappointed... All i really know of this game is the battle system is very fast paced. And it probably ISNT coming to PC... like... omfg wtf is the point of it all... Honestly, if another good game doesnt get released on PC i will be like WTF do i do with my 8800 GTS if i cant even use half of its resources ffs! release some good s*** to PC... i want FFXIII on PC

Which one is the cellphone version? I heard only two of the three games are on PS3 and the other is on a cellphone. So yeah i'm a FF fan and i'm excited about another final fantasy title. I wonder how its going to be based on strategy and statistics. Like in FF10, how you don't level up, but just using the sp for gaining stats. I wonder how the leveling system is going to be in FFXIII?

FF7 on pc is pretty lame.

I played FF7 on pc, but I didn't play all the way through it. There is not much difference between the pc and the ps1 version despite that pc version its faster in some ways. FF8 never played it on pc version so there may not be any difference like the ps1, but good games.

The trouble with FF7 on PC, graphics are the same (screen res of 620x480 or something), and you cant use a joypad with it. Hence why FF7 (PS1) emulated on computer is the best. .

FF Agito XIII is the cell phone version Stephen.

I have never played any of the PC versions, though I did watch my uncle play FF7 PC once....not the same though...

I just played an FF13 demo, I don't have the actual game, and it seems like it really is living up to the standards of its predecessors.

Would you say its worth buying?

I think I would buy it; It looks great.

Where'd you get a demo for it?

I'm really digging the battle system. I wonder, though, if it might not be a little bit too fast. People that are used to the old-fashioned FF games might not take too well to all of the motion.

The other thing I like about it is that the lead character's a chick who can actually take care of herself. As much as I liked Yuna's and Rinoa's characters, they always seemed to need to be rescued, and that gets on my nerves with video game heroines. Especially because Yuna (seeing as she was able to summon very large, very powerful magical creatures to do her bidding) really didn't have much of an excuse.

I think that the moment that FF13 comes out in the states might be the moment where I finally cave and shell out the several hundred dollars necessary to buy a PlayStation3.

Well, at least for final fantasy xiii no playstation 3 is required anymore. In E3 there was an announcement that it'll be released in xbox360 as well.

About the final fantasy x with final fantasy x-2 thing getting repeated in these 2 final fantasy titles (I'm keeping agito out of this) I don't think it'll be the same. Well, if you keep the difference in settings out there is the fact that they'll be having different battle systems. So in these terms they are somewhat "alike". For example final fantasy x-2 had a more advanced battle system (in my opinion at least) but the fact about how the story developed strongly in a fan-service theme is the one that made it seem lame. I tell that while thinking that most final fantasy titles are well remembered to their fans mainly through their story-characters.

Well, final fantasy versus xiii is still playstation 3 exclusive so if someone really want to play that one needs the console.
I would also like to play agito but that's the most unlikely to come anywhere near my hands. Still there are only some 3d movie screens around.

Oh about the connection of the final fantasy xiii franchise. It's supposedly something like a new line of stories with the name "Fabula Nova Crystalis", which means a new tale of crystals or something like that, from latin. So all these three games (not sure if there are more to be included or that already are included) have in common and are based on a setting that has to do with crytals. Which, in my opinion, isn't something new. Though, I wonder how it's going to work out this time.

Updated with the new E3 Trailer for FFXIII. Still no new info that I have found yet of VersesXIII or AgitoXIII.

Agito's coming to the PSP to so that way more people would buy it and it will be a real game.Also Final-Fantasy X-2 DID NOT SUCK! it was GREAT! just because it opened with a pop concert and had 1000 words (which was one of the most beautiful songs EVER!) in it did not make it bad the battle system was one of the best and the various endings were worth getting! The only bad thing about the game was that it did not have as many cool dressperes as the international version.

Just to make a clarification, FFXIII is on PS3 and 360. However, FFXIII Versus is still PS3 exclusive.

There's going to be like a 2 to 3 hour demo of FFXIII on the Blu-Ray version of Advent Children.

I find it awsome that it going to the 360 now.
I was wondering which to buy and I got the 360 instead of the ps3. That game was one of the deciding factors and now I don't have to worry on missing out of a game.
