While I like both genres I am more of the hard-core fantasy fan... as to be expected of a girl that spent the majority of high school playing Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons. I mean, don't get me wrong I am still a Trekkie, but I will take Elves over Vulcans any day.

I'm torn. I love both genres just about equally. I've always preferred reading fantasy because of the imagination it takes to appreciate it. However, Sci Fi movies are my favorite kind because of the stunning visuals. I just watched the '80s TRON recently and the old 'state of the art' effects are what made it so enjoyable.

It's a close call but I've always been drawn to fantasy more.  Maybe it's because of the magic.  It's interesting to see all the different ways fantasy authors incorporate magic into their worlds.  Sci fi authors do the same thing with technology I guess, but for some reason I've always been more entertained by the sword and sorcery type stuff.

I suggest Fantasy Many stories can be told as a    poetry,myth and legends ,Sci-Fi  on the other  hand goes beyond our time and place similar to Fansasy, I lack infomation of Sci- Fi Unless it's about paranormal creatures heard in reality or Norse mythology and Greek mythology experiencing the unknown it's possibly worth hours of enjoyment.District 9 Anyone?
