Pac-Man is an arcade game developed by Namco and first released in Japan on May 22, 1980. The hero, Pac-Man, has become a beloved icon world-wide. Pac-Man loves to eat dots and power pellets. The latter giving him super-powers that enable him to eat his ghostly enemies among other special abilities depending on the situation. He has thus far spawned more than 30 licensed games(some including other family members), a top-ten hit single(Pac-Man Fever), a cartoon series, and a multitude of clones and copies. Nearing 40, he still commands respect from gamers young and old.
