WILLLLLD WOOOOODY! (Sega CD) benjamin13353
Wild Woody for the Sega CD involves a pencil named Woody wow such a woody character huh huh huh 'sigh' yeah I know bad pun but anyway woody has to stop some sort green blob guys I don't know I couldn't understand what those guys were. But anyway he has to go through each level try to erase the bad guys. 'sigh' another bad pun jese that's already 2 bad puns in this review. Anyway the controlls are a little stiff I mean every time when I try to jump over the fire I would usually get hit by the fire! You have to time your jumps very correctly other wise you will get hit by the enemies or get burned in the fire. This game is just so annoying with the enemies you can barely avoid these guys. Your health bar in this game is a percentage meter. huh that's kind of weird I mean in some games your health bar would usually be a just a bunch of rectangle bars but in this game it's just a percentage meter hmm weird. But anyway if your health bar reaches all the way to zero then your dead which means you will have to start back at the begining of the stage well I'm not sure if there is any checkpoints in the game but what I know of there is no checkpoint and you will have to go to the begining of the stage. If you lose all of your two lives GAME OVER! that means you will have to go back to the title screen, go through the cutscene again, and then you would be able to start the game again. Well that's not too bad but it would be pretty annonying to have to go through all of that again and let me tell you I can only get through half of the first stage! For those of you who can get through the first stage good for you because for me the first stage is a big pain in the butt! Oh and I for got to menchin what are your controls in this game. Well first of all when your at the main menu you can change the controls in the settings in case if you don't like how the controls are currently set but anyway the controls are when you hit A it says that you sketch? Wha what does that mean? Well I'm guessing that when you pause the game there is sketch book and I'm guessing that push up on the d-pad and then find a sketch to draw and then hit A well I don't really know how that actually works. But anyway pushing B will make you use your eraser and by pushing C you jump. And well that's pretty much the only controls you can actually do in this game. But anyway I don't hate this game soooooo much but if any of you really enjoy this game well that's good but for me this game is just not my favorite game to play over and over again like Sonic The Hedgehog 2. Well at least for a 2D platformer. So I may not like this game that much but I do have something that I do enjoy about this game and that is Wild Woody himself. What I mean about that is that the character is so hilarious when he says his lines in this game like.... "It's time to start SKEEETCHIN!" or "Call me Woody, WILLLLLLLLLD WOOOODY!" those two lines always seem to make me laugh. So is this game terrible? Well no not reallly. I mean the controls are a little bit bad for me but I can somehow pull through, and Woody can really be a humorious character at times. Oh and I forgot to menching how annoying it is everytime when you get hit he will always say ow! So do I reccomend this game? A little bit. I mean when get some time try to place this game at your own pace. Don't try to rush through and beat this is game in say 35 minutes. So give this game a try and see how you feel about this game. I give this game a 6.8 out of 10 I wouldn't really play this game again if I ever beat it.

It's not Woody, it's WIIIILD Woody! MasterMuskrat
I look at games like a coin, they have two sides, story and gameplay, for a game to be truly good both sides must be good. Wild woody is a 90s game for the Sega Genesis, and not one of the memorable ones. There are many aspects of the game I need to get into so let's start at the beginning.
Graphics: The game's graphics are nothing truly special, they're average for the Genesis and are nothing special. But then again, graphics don't hold any true meaning in deciding a games reputation, so this category is simply for show. 7
Sound: The game is notable for having a soundtrack composed by Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, an American guitarist and songwriter. And is also known to have a short list of sound effects, mostly from Woody himself, so get used to hearing "Ow!" over, and over, and over again. 6
Addictiveness: Being addicted to Wild Woody is about as likely as being addicted to getting a brain freeze. The game's shoddy controls, dull environment, and brutal difficulty make this game very unattractive to the human gamer's eye. This is why it's important to note that no known walkthrough of this game has ever made it past the first realm. 2
Story: Though most may not agree I actually find the story rather entertaining. It's important to note that most video games of the 90s never had truly good or even realistic stories behind their games. However Wild Woody seems to make it's premise fairly creative and somewhat entertaining. The story revolves around an archaeologist who's uncovered an ancient artifact from an ancient temple. Under certain circumstances, (which are blown out of proportion in the game) the artifact has the power to successfully destroy the universe. The artifact itself is a miniature totem pole, consisting of five totems, due to an event in the game they are separated and all flee into universes they created themselves, where they can garner immense power and eventually destroy the world. One totem, low man isn't evil, and actually fears for the well-being of the universe, and uses his powers to create someone who can stop them, though in his current environment he doesn't have much to work with, leaving him the only choice of bringing to life an ordinary pencil, to save the world. Though it is a rather stupid plot line, what do you expect in a game starring a talking pencil? The animated cut scenes between gameplay is pretty cheap, but the voice acting and characters definitely don't make it boring or annoying. So though the game may not have been a star, at least the plot wasn't poorly stitched together. 7
Depth: Wild Woody's programming is it's ultimate downfall as an enjoyable game, but it's important to note that the game did have some potential. Though irritating in it's final result, the game did feature a more original combat system, instead of a typical run and jump strategy that was done to death in that era. The game is also important for the creative Draw and Defeat combat ability, that allowed you to gather notebook page as ammo, and sketch pads as weapons, allowing you to draw up a variety of items such as weapons to defeat enemies, or difference modes of transportation such as jet packs, sports cars, and pogo sticks to speed up the level. Though like most ground breaking ideas put into video games it didn't work out as well in the end, for example, though you can find plenty of paper, there are few sketch pad items for you to find, as well as a time limit on all objects makes it fairly useless, but I do give credit for trying. 5.
Difficulty: There is a reason why there is no known walkthroughs of this game anywhere on the web(trust me I've tried) it's because this game is like nails on a chalkboard in game. The most gruesome offence by this game is Woody's poor jump ability, which is difficult to learn, and impossible to master. And of course Woody's poor ability to attack enemies, where you must jump on them and erase them(termed "rubbing one out" in the game manual) has a massive margin of error between hitting the enemy head on, and completely missing and taking damage when you make contact with them. But this entire failure of a combat system could be overcome if there weren't so many traps, obstacle, and enemies! One level of the game entitles at least 50 enemies, over 100 obstacles, and countless moving platforms and leaps of faith. This all culminates in the fact that Wild Woody is the hardest game known to mankind. And you can take that to the bank! 10
Overall, my review on Wild Woody with everything considered would have to be a 4. Because the game utterly fails in combat, level design, and overall entertainment value. Making it by far one of the worst games I have ever seen, and played. But hey that's just my two cents, if you really want to take my review into perspective, play the game yourself, and read this again and see how much it lines up. Thank you for reading, please respond to this review and tell me what you think. Enjoy the game :)

Pretty Good cplegogame25
Graphics: The graphics are standard for the genesis, you can tell what everything is perfectly except some of the floors you need to erase, but the CGI looks horrible, it doesn't look natural, everything moves in a rubber fashion and like glued to the ground.Story:The story is about Woody... WIIIIIILLLLLLDDDDD WOOODY!!!! Who is brought to life by some head type thing wanted to get the other parts of his body.Gameplay:The gameplay is jumping around and eraseing people with your butt. The controls are kinda weird, moving around is fine but jumping is weird. You jump with the B button, when you tap it you go like 2 inches in the air, if you hold it you will go higher up. That's dumb in my opinion, no other game does that unless you do it one purpose, unless it's Sonic. Attack enemies is weird to, you're suppose to jump on them, but the hitboxes to hit them are small, you have to be dead on with your jump or you will get hurt but still kill the enemy. The A button activates a sketch pad when you collect paper turning you into an airplane, tornado, or kangarooSound/Music:The sound effects are basic hop and hit sounds, the voices are really annoying with the sound. The music is done by Bumblefoot from Guns n' Roses (at least that's what i heard) The music is just EPIC ROCK music, it sounds great but doesn't fit in with the game that well.Final Verdict:Wild Woody is a pretty good game with good graphics, good music, ok controls, but the bad things are the CGI and voices, also i forgot the level design, it's not that good. It's confusing on some levels like the MT. Zeus where if you fall you backtrack a lot
