  It's UncleBalrog bringing you another review for a game! Yeah, it's another Sonic game, but this time it's a hack of a Sonic game. A very good hack at that, and let's find out why!   Sypnosis: Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is a game we all know and love that involves platforming, rings, and most importantly, SPEED. The whole deal with Sonic is that you're insanely fast. So after this game rolled around, time goes by, and a lot of it too. A game for the PS2 and Gamecube was made called Sonic Heroes. This game let you switch between the members of a 3-man (or animal?) team that had different abilities. The members were either Speed Type, Flying Type, or Power Type (it's been a while since I played Sonic Heroes so don't complain if I got that wrong...) Sonic 2 Heroes is a ROM hack of, you guessed it, Sonic 2 for the Sega Genesis. It pretty much combines Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic Heroes by adding a new mechanic to the game, which is the ability to actively switch between Sonic Tails and Knuckles, just like in Sonic Heroes. Each character has their abilities from their classic Sega Genesis days, but Sonic got a few updates to make him play like he did in Sonic 3. He also gets to use the Homing Attack when he gets the standard Blue Shield, which is AWESOME. But let's get to the real review, shall we?Graphics: I originally thought about giving this a 7, but then I noticed the new sprites for the Sonic 3 shields. Since these weren't even in Sonic 2 to begin with, I gave it an 8 for adding graphically new graphical graphics that are graphically appealing. In a graphical sense, that is. Graphically...Sound: I also gave this an eight, simple because Sonic 2's music is incredibly catchy and cool. (They also added more sound effects for Knuckles and the shields!)Addictiveness: The original Sonic 2 would be getting an 8 for this. I'm giving it a 9 cos' the amount of updates this game made to the original Sonic 2 are just wonderful! Playing as Knuckles in Sonic 2? YES. Playing as Tails and lifting both Sonic and Knuckles at the same time? YES. Using the freaking HOMING ATTACK with a blue shield as Sonic? YES. This game just works with Sonic 2. For that, it is great.Story: Meh, same as Sonic 2. Nothing too groundbreaking here. Remember, you don't play the classic Sonic games for the story! :PDepth: This game, with the addition of the Heroes concept, offers you more options than the original did gameplay-wise. "Should I do this Zone as Sonic? What about Knuckles? Or maybe I'll just carry Sonic and Knuckles OVER the Zone as Tails!" Ask yourself that before you play a zone, it's very fun to weigh your options. However, it's even more fun to act on those decisions!Difficulty: This game is getting slightly demoted in the difficulty field due to having more characters. It makes the game slightly easier in that regard, and there are also a few glitches I noticed with Knuckles' wall-climbing where you'd climb up a wall and lift yourself up a ledge in the middle of the wall. You'd then fall down through the wall, which is annoying, albeit hilarious. This game is still very hard to beat, just like it's original counterpart.          All in all, this is a fantastic game improved to be an ultra-fantastic game. SEGA, start taking notes, because this game rocks. I know you're coming back from Sonic's...Dark Age... *shivers uneasily* but seriously, something like this NEEDS to be officially done by SEGA in the next few years.         Well, that was a fast review for a fast game. Hello  users  of  vizzed  it's  me  again  sonicman120!  This  time  we  will  talking  about  sonic  two  heroes.                                                       Story  five:  Everybody  who  plays  sonic  games  has  to  realize  that  the  plot  of  Dr.eggman  (Robotnick)  is almost  always  the  same  every  time.  He's  always  trying  to take  over  where  ever  there  at  in  the  moment  and  build  eggman  land.  And  the  name  of  it  sounds  like a  lame  amusement  park.  On  the  other  hand,  the sonic  side  is  what  moves  it  up  from  a  one  to  a  five.  This  is what  I  think  of  this  hack.  The  hacker  put  sonic , tails , and  knuckles  on  a  team  of  three  like  sonic  heroes  and  puts  it  in  sonic  two  to  make  it  classic.     So  the  team  goes  and  defeats  the  evil   Dr.Eggman  and  his  plan.If  you  have  never  played  sonic  two  I  recommend  playing  this  as  a  beginners  version  because  it's  easier   to  play  with  three  instead  of   one  or  two.Depth  seven:  Sonic  the  hedgehog  two  is  a  pretty  long  game  if  you  ask  me.  I  mean  it  has  like  ten  levels.  If  you  count  getting  all  the  emeralds  in  the  special  stages  it's  seven-teen  and  with  the  acts  plus  every  thing  else  it's  thirty-six  in  total.  But  this  is  short  in  acts  and  each  level  only  has  two  acts  (metropolis  has  three  acts)  which  puts  this  short  in  comparison   with  sonic  one,two,cd,and   S3&K.Graphics  seven:  The  background  graphics  and  foreground  graphics  are  the  same  as  sonic  two's  graphics  because  this  is  in  that  game  but  on  the  other  hand,  I  like  how  the  hacker  put  sonic  three  and  sonic  and  knuckles  graphics  for  the  chareterters  in  sonic  two  because  that  really  gives  this  game  the  upper  hand  and  finally  tails  is  useful  in  this  game.Sound  seven: Really  I  like  the  music  of  this  game  the  best  because  it  sound  just  right  in  tone  and  it's  unique  in  every  way.  It's  sounds  just  like  it's  supposed   be  sounding,  in  the  sixteen  bit  era.  It  sounds  like  the  genesis  composed   it.Addictiveness  nine:  This  game  is  very  addictive  to  me  because  it's  so  unique.  I  mean  it's  sonic  two  with  a  little  bit  of  sonic  heroes  in  it  which  makes  it  good.  I  could  use  a  change  to  it  though.  If  he  could  just  put  the  other  teams  on  the  game  it  would  be  better.  But  team  sonic  is  good  enough.Difficulty  five:  This  game  isn't  all  that  hard  with  the  other  two  players  on  your  side  acting  as  a  shield  to  defeat  enemy's  while  you  do  the  same.Overall  nine  point  six(9.6):  This  game  in  overall  adds  up  in  nine  point  six  because  it's  really  different  from  any  other  sonic  hack  iv'e  seen  so  far  and  probably   will see.  So  everybody  who  has  commented  my  last  post  of  a  game  I  owe  a  thanks  to  for  letting  me  know  that  I  needed  to  improve  things  to  be  perfect  so  I  really  owe  this  post  to  you  guys.  Thank  you  guys  and  I  hope  you  all  look  forward   to  my  next  post.  See  you  guys  next  time.

Sonic 2 Heroes Review.   mike345
When I first heard that the hack was on Vizzed I really wanted to play it but I couldn't so I got the Sega Genesis emulator and the ROM and I started playing it. GRAPHICS The graphics in this game is really good Sonic,Knuckles and Tails look like the same sprites from Sonic The Hedgehog 3. The Sonic the Hedgehog 2 zones look pretty much the same as the original game. SOUNDS The track music in this game is the same as the original game it also has no bugs and it doesn't lag which makes it good. STORY Even though there are more characters in the game and the game-play is different the story is still the same as Sonic the Hedgehog 2 to stop Dr.Eggman (Dr.Robotnik) from taking over the world. DIFFICULTY The difficulty in this game is a lot easier because you can use Tails to fly to hidden places and areas where Sonic couldn't normally reach and you can also use Knuckles to climb walls and also to get hidden places. OVERALL Overall I thought that the game was great and I would like to play it more. The person that made this hack should be proud of him/herself. :)

Sonic 2 itself is a very decent game. However, adding  Knuckles just makes the game that much worse... I mean, its just too Fun!!X) anyone who had the curiosity I had on 3 characters knows that their I for a treat(especially since you can switch between them. Sonia's Original Speed and Inst-shield, Tail's Flying, and Knuckles' gliding and climbing techniuqes make the perfect 3 man team!! The difficulty is surely depending on how sly you are with the 3 characters, so I cant neccecarily give it a Straight 1 or 10 for difficulty.. Graphics are good and I certainly cant complain. But then again, in my perspective, Sonic is know for good Graphics. Sound, good, bucause their music was catchy. I gave depth a 10 simply because This game is easy to play, but taking full advantage of the stages and mastering it would also be very intriguing as well. Last, All I can say is that its a game that you would definitely try again and again if you like platform games.

ok so the overall game should be pretty high for i gave it a 9.4 because my first sonic game was Sonic 2 and my 2nd was sonic heroes! ive always been a fan of team sonic but team classic sonic?pure happiness. so the controls are simples D is jump down is crouch up is look up and left and right are move.ok heres a code for super goto sound test and enter in EXACT order 19,65,9,17 then when u play no matter who u are u are super sonic,tails,kncukles. this game is a good time killer it takes um 23 minutes if u are super and i guess around a hour if u are regular.the games pretty hard if ur regular and super because the only thing that kills super is being crushed or falling in a pit ESPECIALLY super sonic because only the first 2 levels were running levels the next i think 5-6 are platforming so super sonic is bad sometimes.the story is actully one of the best in the sonic series and the most famous to old time fans!The evil dr.eggman has built a giant robot eggdome in space and is going to take over the world! sonic while accompionied by a new sidekick Miles*tails*prower together these two will defeat Dr.eggman collect the chaos emeralds and restore peace!.the game as i said was about 7 levels long but each one has about 2 acts and 2 have 3 acts (im counting the final 3 zones as a big group if thats ok with u)but each level has a special stage where u get the chaos emerald.The sound since this is a Sega Genesis(or megadrive if u live in Japan) its got the adorable classicle *Do do do da de dooo do do dooo* tun that loops for a while with diffrent pitch's.the graphics as i said this is on a Sega Genesis(or megadrive again)the bit-graphics are higher than the 32 bit SNES graphics and lower than the Sega saturn or n64 witch are i beleive 64 bit(hense nintendo 64 but im not aware how many bit graphics the sega saturn has)i beileve  this is the end of my reveiw it is my first.

This is one of my most favourite Sonic the hedgehog 2 of all time for just one simple reason:the 3-player co-op, and the reason I like this is because...well just look at it! Its a 2d sonic game that you can beat with the help of friends,and this is on genesis,if they couldn't make a 3 player co-op game on ps2 then WOW,sonic team is slacking with their games Graphics:9I was surprised with the graphics, I thought due to the extra player (knuckles) and being able to switch through characters would have created a graphic glitch somewhere, but I didn't see any!SoundI can't say any thing on the sound because my speakers are busted :(Addictiveness: 6I would play this game any time of the day, but I would think playing the same levels over and over would get pretty boring over time (you know if you were a complete hacking fan boy (aka myself))Depth:3The game is just Sonic 2 with the ability to switch characters during but like I said before this does allow for cooperative between 3 people on the same computer which is cool but it should of implemented parts of a level which required co-op to get pastDifficulty:4Its got the regular Sonic 2 difficulty but its more fun to experiment with the other characters ability's (knuckles glide move and toils flying move) which allow you to get to secret areas

gameplay, 10: wow it's so great i mean how tails can fly and knuckles is working with sonic, and the best part is that 3 players in story at once is great.(tails couldn't fly in sonic 2 the creator fixed this). anyways the sonic hereos format was a perfewct idea for those who are begging for a sequel. story, 4: sorry it's a rehashed story it copied sonic 1's story so... well it was a lifelss story from start NEXT graphics, 10: sonic games on the genesis were always awesome all the colors they used, how fluint the sprites animation and framerate is so i give it a ten sound: edit: 10: sonic is known for great music this is no exception, soni8c 2's music was da bomb addictiveness, 9: the replay value is greeat end of discusion. difficulty, 8: sonic 2 was hard with tails, and not as but still hard with sonic (beacause sonic could turn super, and acess debug mode, and he was faster and a higher jumper, tais did not do any of theese.) adding in 2 amigos to help sonic, knuckles, or tails was a greeat idea, but made it easier. sonic 2 hereos sonic 2 hereos sonic 2 hereos sonic 2 hereos sonic 2 hereos overall, 9.5: this was a great idea david and possibly somari, but the bugs killed it for me i'm on the 5th act but it really has some stupid bugs like me dieng when i switch and no debug mode (i like to make my boss fights more challenging with enimies,traps.spikes,ect.) but still a great, memorable expirence i know i will comeback to this i've allready gotten 6 gameovers but still a great expirence

Graphics: The graphics are really spectacular. The flow of the graphics are really smooth and consistent throughout. My only issue is that the levels are exactly like Sonic 2, even though that is the basis of this game. If the levels were slightly changed for more authenticity, then the game would be better, especially if it had the Sonic Heroes feel to the graphics more than Sonic 2. Nevertheless, the graphics are spectacular and eye-catching.Sound: The sounds are basically the Sonic 2 sounds, but they are really catchy and they fit the levels nicely. The boss sounds are slightly menacing, but it helps add to the suspense of what the boss would do next. The sounds also add a nice depth to the level theme, although some levels could have better sounds to add more depth. Overall, the sound choices in this game are smooth and help add a level of depth to the game.Addictiveness: This game is slightly addictive in the sense that the levels challenge a player's rationalization and decision making. It also helps players make decisions that could influence their game play, especially at the boss battles. The levels are unique, although some similarities could be noticed throughout each levels, but this game is still addicting due to the players having to make decisions that can affect the game.Story and Depth: The story in this game is highly similar to other classic Sonic games, almost like it is redundant in some respects due to the antagonist's evil intentions. The story is not shown a lot, leaving players to infer their plan. Unfortunately this could confuse players because the plot is not revealed in its entirety. The depth of the game helps make up for the lack of story. The depth is emersive since the levels change each time you transition to a new stage. These transitions help add to the challenges that players face in each new level because the layout and possible dangers change. Overall, the game's story line lacks in detail, but the depth of the story helps back up the story.Difficulty: This game can be confusing when you have 3 characters to play as, but they each have their own strengths for a unique scenario. The difficulty is not as hard as other Sonic games I have played, but for some players, it can be confusing to see 3 characters moving at once. But it is not as confusing once you play it. Overall, the difficulty is not as hard as other Sonic games, but it is confusing for first time players.

Well, hey guys, so today, I'll be making a game review about Sonic 2 heroes. To be honest, I already have made game reviews of the 2 other newer versions of this game (sonic classic heroes and sonic classic heroes- rise of the chaotix) but I thought I should go ahead and review all versions of my favorite sonic hack. Anyways, let's get started on this review! Intro: So whats this game about?So, to basically explain this amazing Sonic hack, this is a hack of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (I think). What this hack features is Sonic the Hedgehog, Tails the Fox, and Knuckles the Echidna, 3 awesome Sonic characters, all in one game and you can literally play as the all 3 of them at one time in a co-op way. Somewhat similar to sonic heroes for ps2 really, but for the sega genesis with the sonic the hedgehog 2 levels. Now, let's really (try) to delve in to the review!Gameplay: 10I really have to say, the gameplay for this sonic 2 hack is purely awesome. Now let's explain why, how it works is that Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles are all together, you are gonna be one of them and you can switch around these characters to choose whoever you want to be at anytime in the game. So, you play as Sonic for a while, then switch to play as Tails for a while, then switch to play as Knuckles for a while. Very useful and fun, especially if you really like all 3 of the characters. Also, as you guys can probably guess, they of course have all of their original special moves. Knuckles can glide and climb and also, his jump height is the same as Sonic and Tails' jump height which is pretty cool. (Normally, at the original sonic games, Knuckles' jump height was actually a bit lower than Sonic and Tails' jump height but it doesn't seem to apply to this sonic hack!) Tails can of course, as you all know, fly to great heights but not fly forever though since he does tire out after a short while. Also, Tails can actually carry both Sonic and Knuckles, in fact, he can carry the both of them at the same time! As in, Tails can fly and Sonic can grab on to him and Knuckles can also grab onto Sonic! Or vice versa! Which is pretty cool, so if the whole Team needed to go somewhere, they can all go while flying together! But one sad thing though, is that even though Knuckles can glide, I don't think Sonic and Tails can grab onto Knuckles while he is gliding. Though, imagining it can actually be hard but it can be awesome though. And now, what about Sonic? Does he have any special moves? Of course he does! He has the ability to do a double attack (I think thats what it's called) where he does a small flash when you press the jump button while in mid-air and if he has a shield on, then he can actually do a certain special move with a shield on. Like with the original Sonic the hedgehog 2 shield, he does a homing attack! With the original Sonic the hedgehog 3 fire shield, he does that fast fire dash that he usually does in the original game! With the bubble shield, he can bounce as much as he wants in an epic way! And with the electric shield, he can do a double jump! Well, I'm not sure if I mentioned all of the shields but you guys know that it is all of the original shields with Sonic's original special abilities from the original Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Also, one more quite odd thing I would really want to mention is that Sonic moves A LOT faster in this Sonic 2 hack. I mean, he is even faster than his speed in the original games, which is definitely what Sonic is supposed to be like! Tails' and Knuckles' speed is almost about the same but seems a little slightly slower when I play with Knuckles or Tails, but oddly enough, Tails and Knuckles can easily keep up with Sonic's speed when you are playing with him and when he is running in max-speed, which is weird since Tails and Knuckles seems slower when you are playing as them, but still cool because I wouldn't want them to keep getting lost everytime Sonic runs fast. Also, one thing I forgot to mention, normally, in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 or 3, when you are playing as Sonic and Tails, Tails usually tends to get lost pretty often but then he comes back after a very short while, however, in this sonic 2 hack, when you would play as one character, the other 2 who are following you actually don't get lost as often. They seem to actually be pretty good at keeping up with you instead of getting lost like an idiot every few seconds. Also, now one more cool thing that the some of us may not notice, Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles can do their special abilities almost anytime in mid-air. Well, I know you may be confused now since you already know that they can do their special abilities in mid-air anytime they want but let me explain. Firstly, lets say you are playing Sonic 3 and knuckles and you are currently playing as Knuckles, if you were to fall down without jumping, can you glide? Nope. Sadly. But now, let's say you were playing this Sonic hack and you are Knuckles and you fell down without jumping, can you still glide? Yep! Also, the same applies to both Sonic and Tails for their special moves! I'll say that it is pretty useful because sometimes when I'm half-asleep while playing, while I'm just running with Knuckles, I end up falling down off a platform without jumping, so gliding afterwards can save my life in this sonic hack. lol. Also, you can actually play this co-op game on vizzed perfectly! But, only for 2 players, sadly. Usually, the third player will just end up being a spectator who can only chat. (Also, as for the lag in-game and what not, those are problems for netplay and your internet connection speed and server, has nothing to do with the game itself) Well, thats about it for the gameplay portion in my review!Graphics: 9Well, of course. You can pretty much guess it. It's mostly the same from the original Sonic games. The Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles sprites were all taken from Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles. Also, all the original Sonic the Hedgehog 2 zones in this hack looks exactly the same as the original unless I am actually missing something. However, there are still a few unoriginal things in this sonic hack. The first thing that is not original is the title screen. I must really say, the title screen looks very epic. It shows Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles all standing together heroically ready for their adventure! Though, it does seem more of some original title screen sprites combined together and modified a bit but still, I must say that they did a pretty good job on that title screen. The Second thing is, while you are in game, look at the bottom left corner of the screen, it shows your amount of lives left and your team. It also shows which character you are playing as. (The character in the top is the one you are playing as, if you actually haven't noticed already) Those 3 circles (not sure what they are actually called) that shows Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, seems pretty much well done, though, it is something minor but it still counts. Other than that, all other sprites, stuff and graphics are pretty much the same as the original Sonic games. The monitors are pretty much taken from sonic the hedgehog 3 and the zones are pretty much exactly the same like Sonic the hedgehog 2. I always liked how the zones in Sonic the hedgehog 2 looked like anyways, it is very bright and high quality. It is also vivid and pretty clear. Decent graphics in my opinion and an extremely awesome title screen. Which is why I would rate the graphics a 9. Oh yea, and one more thing, there is Amy in sky chase zone and the end of the game. Her sprite is not so bad, I guess. Well, thats about it for the graphics portion in my review.Sound: 9You guys can probably already guess, yes, they are exactly the same as Sonic the Hedgehog 2, there is no changes in any sound effects and no changes in the background music either. Anyways, I always thought Sonic the Hedgehog 2's background music as one of the best background music I have ever seen compared to other Sonic games' sound tracks. It is very fitting and it sounds very catchy and well done. It is of nice and high quality for the sega genesis and it is something that someone would want to listen to as a song. Like for example, chemical plant zone, it's background music is very fitting to the environment and it sounds really good. It is serious showing Team Sonic on a real mission and yet very professional and awesome. Well, that is all I can really say about the sound here to be honest. It is the original as Sonic the hedgehog 2 but yet, the original sounds are always great so I would rate it a 9. Addictiveness: 10Oh, I wonder. Let us see, I love Sonic because he is very fast and has a cool variety of moves with different shields. I also love Tails because he can fly anywhere and very controllable in flight and he can carry both sonic and knuckles which is pretty cool and useful. I also love knuckles since he can glide at a decent fast speed and climb as much as he wants without tiring out. Now, let us see, how would it be like to have the whole 3 of them at once with all of their special moves that I always loved? Oh, that is definitely awesome and definitely addicting I must say. Imagine being able to have fun with all of their special moves that are your favorite moves. This is one of my favorite sonic games that I must really play again and again. I am a sonic fan and I always like to play my favorite sonic games often, especially this one. Honestly, that is all I can say for the addictiveness section in my review! Story: 7Well, we all know, it's all the simple and old story, however, I do find some type of twist here though, the real twist is that Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles will team up together to stop Dr. Eggman. Well, it's not much of a twist but it is pretty cool to see Knuckles join the both of them to help them stop Dr. Eggman in their long journey, though, it is still mostly the same old story based off what I have seen in this game, though, I guess it gets a slightly higher rating than how I would rate the original since it is more interesting and better include Team Sonic on this mission! Thats about it for the story portion in my review. Depth: 10Boy, I must really say, LOTS of depth indeed. In the options menu at the title screen, you can customize your team, you can remove a character, switch them around for defaults... etc. Also, there is sound tests you can do like all other or most Sonic games. Also, I already explained how the switching of the 3 characters in game pretty much work out so there isn't much else to say here, really. Thats about it for the Depth.Difficulty: 7Well, it mostly depends on what zone you are playing since some zones are very easy and some are very hard. It kind of starts out easy fro the first 2 zones, then you will notice a slight change in difficulty as you go on. However, things can be a bit easier than the original since you do have all of the advantages of Team Sonic and their special abilities.OVERALL: 9.3Well, that is about it for my review, I would definitely recommend sonic fans to try out this Sonic hack. This is the hack you get if you combine Sonic 2 with Sonic Heroes. Very much like Sonic Heroes, the player has the ability to control up to three characters, with one being the team leader whilst the other two tag along, and characters can be rotated at any time. Only Team Sonic (made up of Sonic, Tails and Knuckles) is playable, though Amy Rose makes a non-playing appearance near the end of the game. The story, levels and music are all the same as in Sonic 2, though the collectibles are from Sonic 3 and Knuckles, giving the characters more useful items such as the giant bubble. Like Sonic 2, 7 chaos emeralds from special stages must be collected in order for super transformation to be possible, and when 50 rings are collected, all three transform into their super form (very much like the final boss of Sonic Heroes, except the trio can transform immediately after 7 emeralds are collected). A player can also play as a team of two characters, or as an individual, though a three character team is recommended. Sonic 2 Heroes, overall, is as challenging as Sonic 2, but with 3 characters and different collectibles, it might be slightly easier to navigate through the many levels this game has.

Sonic 2 Heroes is a hack of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis by flamewing that allows the player to play as Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles simultaneously, similar to Sonic Heroes.


FEATURES:
The player can rapidly cycle between playing as Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles
Powerups are shared between players.
Tails can fly, swim and can carry either Sonic or Knuckles.
Knuckles can glide and climb.
Sonic can use the insta-shield.
Physics imported from Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
Graphics imported from Sonic 3 & Knuckles, particularly when they could be used to reduce the VRAM footprint.
Projectiles bounce off of Tails' tails and from Knuckles when gliding, as well as from shields, like in Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
A new HUD frees VRAM for Knuckles.
The drown timer is disabled to keep the characters close together instead of losing them when the timer counts to 0.
Amy Rose makes a cameo appearance flying the Tornado in Sky Chase Zone, Wing Fortress Zone and during the ending sequence.
