Shin Kidou Senki Gundam W - Endless Duel Review by: Romanov - 9.8/10
New Mobile Report Gundam WThis game, is fun. Holy crap it's fun. For a lot of Anime/Cartoon-based games, they're bad. However, some few gems rise from the filth and they go on to become true masterpieces. I've never been big on the whole 'Gundam' universe and only knew it because... Mechas. So, this is a new light on a franchise most people never experience.
Graphics: While I was playing this game, I almost forgot I was playing a Famicom/Super Nintendo game. A Super Nintendo! I mean, even Street Fighter Alpha 2 didn't have as good as graphics and I love that game's art style. Nothing is ever dull or boring to look at. It's colorful, clear, and amazing.
Sound: The battle sounds are good. Really good. The music. Eeeehh, nothing memorable. But, nonetheless sound is strong in this games. Weapons and attacks sound tough. A grab sounds as hurtful as it is (very much so.)
Addictiveness: I'm personally a bit of a Fighting Game junkie. I judge games on the high standard set by titles like Street Fighter and King Of Fighters. And well, Gundam passes with spades. Everything feels balanced, nothing overpowered or underpowered. Every move has a use, and that's why it's addictive. Because it's good.
Story: Yeah... I really don't know what's happening here. Not much is being explained in a clear way. I'm pretty sure to understand anything, you have to watch the anime. You get bits of information from the opponents you fight, but it's not much to go on.
Difficulty: I decided to put this here instead of Depth so I can have something which leads into it. This game, is hard. Just as a fighting game should be. This isn't easy. You have to learn under fire how to perform moves and discover your opponent's weakness, and while getting you metal face beaten to a pulp trying to understand. There is no hand-holding whatsoever in this game. Just giant mechs... Smashing each other to bits.
Depth: Ok, the main reason you'll continue playing this game is because of the difficulty. There isn't any unlockable characters (that I know of) in the game. You get all the characters at the start. But, since the difficulty is so bloody high, you'll be playing this game for hours, mastering each character to be able to beat Heavyhands down hard.
