This game uses the same engine Mighty Morphin Power Rangers where giant robots slug it out on a giant scale as both games essentially solid platforms where control is smooth, characters are well animated.

It is extremely unfortunate that Gundam Wing: Endless Duel never made it outside of Japan, however, because it’s one of the best fighters on the Super Famicom. Players take control of various Mobile Suits from the popular Mobile Suit Gundam Wing anime series. Endless Duel featured the ability to boost twice, air block, and hover for a limited time, and some Suits are capable of air throws and aerial super moves. To accommodate this, stages scroll both horizontally and vertically. Players must also rely on building high energy levels via blocking and attacking to use special moves or fire their machine guns.

I strongly recommend you check this game out and explore the wonderful world of fighting games that prove there is more to this genre than Street Fighter and Tekken, both being superb game series in their own right and justificably so. But this one should appeal to manga/anime fans and it is truly glorious in this respect.
