Mario Bros. Quick Review NovemberJoy
Mario Bros. Quite the good game, and it introduced Luigi to the Mario franchise. Also, it gave Mario his name, which is quite an accomplishment. But how does the Atari port fare?
The graphics are decent enough for the Atari 2600, though a noticeable number of objects are just blocks. Mario looks quite close to how he should look, and the enemies look decent by Atari standards.
The sound isn't so good. Whenever you try to run across the floor, it makes an annoying noise that sounds like an old carriage on a brick road, though the round clear noise is still there, and the sound effects do their job properly.
The collision detection is fine, though it can be iffy at times...the controls make it that much harder to manage, since you can only jump in a direction while holding that direction, otherwise you'll just jump up into the air uselessly. Also, there's absolutely no midair control, which makes the game noticeably more difficult than it seems like it should be.
The different stages are there, just like the arcade version. There's the normal stages, which are just affairs of "kill all the enemies to advance to the next stage", and also the bonus stages, where you try to collect coins(though they look more like blue orbs) within a 15 second time limit.
The enemy designs from the arcade game are still here, just as good as in the arcade. The two types of fireballs are there, the shellcreepers(who seem quite similar to Koopas in design), which are flipped over with one hit to the underside, the crabs which take two hits to flip over, and move faster after the first hit, and fighter flies, which can only be hit while they're on the ground, as well as freezies, living icicles which slide along the ground and, if given enough time, freeze the floor. Just like the classic arcade game...or, at least as close as it can be for an Atari port.
There's a two-player mode, which is a nice bonus, and there's also limited amounts of strategy. You can work together, or you can fight each other. You can try to see who will survive the longest, or who gets the highest score. It's a pretty good two-player game, especially for Atari.
While the game is simplistic enough, there's multiple game modes as well, though they only toggle fireballs on or off. The fireballs make the game substantially more difficult, due to the fact that they can just appear, they're faster than Mario's running speed, and they always seem to get in the way just when you're about to destroy an enemy or get a coin that pops out of one of the pipes when you destroy an enemy. I had a bit more fun when fireballs were turned off, but it wasn't especially challenging, even after about 20 or so levels.
The storyline is basically that there's creatures coming out of the pipes, and Mario and Luigi, the famous Mario Bros., are sent to curb the creature problem.
Overall, this game's quite excellent, and a great port of the arcade game...
=Mediocre graphics
-Annoying walking sound
-Not very many difficulty options
-Stiff controls
+It's actually FUN!
+Two-player mode
+All other sound is good
+Basically every feature from the arcade version is here
Overall Rating:B(There are some problems that could be fixed, but they're relatively minor compared to all the positives)

Mario on 2600 SuperCrash64
Introduction: Time to review another game,(note This review will probably be a lot shorter then all of my other reviews) anyways here we Have Mario Brothers on The Atari 2600 system, it's not a bad game at all, Infact it's rather a good gem for this system. This game was memorable on all systems Even this 1 was a great classic, If you try this port out I guarantee you won't feel like you have wasted you're time.
Background history: Starting out in the arcades, In 1983. Mario brothers The arcade game, went on to be a successful game. And It received This game was the 1st start in the Mario franchise and was 1 of the few that helped out Nintendo in the market business. This game along with the original dk on vizzed rather made for some fun times.
Graphics 6: I suppose looking at this game for the Atari, I basically see a Simple looking plat former, The sprites of the game rather look decent for this title. As they don't have a bad amount of detail, and I suppose they rather look pleasant. As for the creatures they look alright I would say missing a few details on them like the crabs missing there eyes and koopas not being colored properly, but I guess it's what it can be seen in an Atari game.(As for the backgrounds It looks pretty plan and pretty unfinished, but on the bright side of this game, at least they managed to add a good amount of detail and got the backgrounds to look the best as it possibly could. The only flaw I see, is some of the sprites also have a bit of flickering on them
Sound 6: The sound is basically just a bunch of jump sounds and other random stuff. I suppose the sound effects are good here
Addictiveness: For Banging koopas and having a blast while doging fireballs trying not to get pinched badly by crabs and other sutff. How can Mario bros not be addicting, If anything this is 1 of the few games I enjoy. Addictiveness rating 7.
Plot/Storyline 8: At least from what I've seen and understand from playing this game and looking up research about it. Welll Mario and Luigi are in general plumbers. So guess what job they gotta do now? Yep that's right A plumbing part of there job, it's supposed out start With New York having a major problem, and that is there pipes are blocked, so Mario and Luigi have to go in deep part of the underground pipes to see what the problem is, and it turns out It was a bunch of creatures blocking up the pipes, so now you and a friend have to get all creatures out of the pipe and fix them. As for the main objective about this game is basically to kill much creatures and get the highest score possible.
Depth 10: It's a high score game, so the depth can be as long as you can hang on to you're lifes and Keep up with the enemies and objects. The fun really never ends unless you get a game over and have to start all over.
Difficulty:8 I'll tell the truth, I suck at this game:P. Some of the Fire balls are really a pain in the butt for me to escape from them. And In general I just find this game hard, but really I would say difficulty hardly matters here.
The pro's
eh I've pretty much mentioned the good at the top.
The con's
No soundtrack at all in this game which is rather a disappointment, so if you are gonna listen to music just get some kind of vgm or whatever and play it while doing this game.
Overall I give this game a 8.6 = not bad

Mario Bros review for the Atari 2600! G@mehe@d
Mario Bros was released for the Atari 2600 in 1983. The game is unique and stands out to other Atari 2600 games. It's fun and addicting and you will definitively remember this unique title.STORY: The story starts out where Mario and Luigi have a sewer problem. Their drain pipes are nested with creatures, like turtles, crabs, and even butterflies! To get rid of these creatures, Mario and Luigi must jump and hit the bottom of the platforms the creatures are on. Then they need to throw them in the puddle below. GRAPHICS: The graphics have a little bit of flicker but not much, and the sprites look fantastic. The Atari handled this arcade port very well. Unfortunately it was released during the video game crash of 1983.SOUND: The sound is fairly good. The sound effects are good and there's little tune after you beat the levels. However there should have been some background music. Pitfall 2 had a great background song, and it was released in the same year as this game. So the technology was developed enough for background music in Atari games.ADDICTIVENESS: This game isn't going to keep you on for hours but it's surprisingly addicting. After a few seconds, you will be caught up in the action of this game. It shares that same feel that many arcade games have.DEPTH: This game has several game variations. Some have fireballs some don't some have simultaneous 2 player some don't, some have 5 lives some have 3. With 8 different game variations. There's a new way to play each time. There's even a bonus stage where you collect little balls.DIFFICULTY: The is not very hard. The way to jump platform to platform is difficult though. The game get harder and harder as you progress through the game.OVERALL RATING 8.3

Mario Bros. Review Marcmoney
Overall - 8.5
Mario Bros has been very popular for decades. I would play this game all the time. It is just like Pac-man only better. :) I am glad that it keeps up the high scores.
Graphics - 8
The graphics are very good. It is so funny to see how old the enemies look in this type of system. :P
Sound - 8
The sound is good too. If only there were a song during the game play, it would be cool.
Addictiveness - 7
Like I said, I play this game all the time. I play constantly on any system, including this one. :)
Story - N/A
There is no story in this game.
Depth - 6
The game has lots of levels, but not a lot of things to do. It is basic strategy on hitting the enemy from under and hitting them and dodging the fireballs. I'd say that this game on this type of system is the only one that is a little difficult.
Difficulty - 4
Mario Bros is not that hard to play. It is very easy and I really like it when it gets even harder. :P
Wrap Things Up...
Mario Bros is a great game to play. I highly recommend trying this game. It brings back a lot of memories. :) I think my high score is level 27 on Mario Bros Super Star Saga. I do not keep up the points, just the level. :P

Mario Bros. Atari 2600 Port: Is it as good as the original? MultiProPU15
Hello pros! This is MultiProPU15, and today, we are going to review the Atari 2600 port of Mario Bros., which originally was an arcade game. This game had pros, but many cons, so it's about time I stop my blabbering and get on with the review. Shall we put our review sunglasses and get started?
Graphics: 5
Why: The graphics is probably the worst thing about the game. The graphics are really bad, but can be forgiven because of the time the game released, what console the game was on, and how better it looked than some other games like E.T. Still, compared to the original arcade classic, this game looked bad, and that is sad.
Sound: 5
Why: The sound is ok. Of course it doesn't have any soundtrack like games nowadays, but the sound effects are interesting and ok. Still, in the original, there was a theme song that played before u started playing the game, but in the Atari port, it never played. I don't know why. There was games like E.T. (Yep, mentioned it again), the Atari port of Donkey Kong, and the Atari port of Pac-Man that had some sort of theme play, but yet, Mario Bros, didn't give us a Atari version of the theme from the original, and there isn't anything else to say beyond that.
Addictiveness: 7
Why: You know what? Despite of all of the cons I said earlier, the game is decently addicting and fun to play. I felt like wanting to play for a while at one point because I wanted to keep trying to get the highest score I can possibly get and sometimes even make fun of the game a little. Enough said of that, let's move on to the next topic of this review.
Story: 5
Why: The story is simple like every other Mario game. Basically, there is a pipe problem underground and Mario and Luigi goes there being the plumbing bros. They are to check it out, but it turns out what was causing the problem was monsters like Koopas and Crabs. The only way to stop them is to flip them and kick them. That's all the story is. Simple enough to be decent.
Depth: 4
Why: The game doesn't offer much but trying to get the highest high score you can get, and therefore, it doesn't have much depth to it.
Difficulty: 7
Why: This game is hard. It's really hard to go through even the second part since you are likely to die because of how broken jumps are, therefore it being hard to get a high score.
Overall: 6.5
Why: The game was decently fun, but had a lot of cons and problems with it. This is why Mario is only on Nintendo Consoles, and not other consoles. Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Mario Bros 2600 Excelsior2000
Mario bros for the Atari 2600 is a great game to play.
Graphics:
The graphics are great for a 2600 the Mario sprite is amazing and the turtle sprite looks pretty good too.
Sound:
Just listen to the sound that it does have and you'll see that it is pretty great if only they had some game music that plays during the levels.
Addictiveness:
This game is really addictive to ply NES or 2600.
Story:
I think I have a possible story for the game. Mario has been called to help someone to fix their plumbing but upon arrival he finds that the place has been reduced to rubble and is half flooded so he needs to stop the creatures that are coming out of the pipes but as they are dangerous to touch he has to hit them from below. He must also get his pay through collecting Coins throughout the game.
Depth:
This game has quite a lot of depth to it.
Difficulty:
For a first time gamer it is impossible but after a few goes it's simple.
So what have we learned today Retro fans for 1 viz this games a bargain so do give it a go.
Excelsior2000 signing out.
