NovemberJoy : Persona 5 Royal wasn't only an updated version, it was also localized for the first time in many languages not available before. I think that the sales of P5R parly showed that their public is much broader than they initially thought, so maybe for this game they will already make it as broad as P5R thus eliminating one of the reasons for the updated version.

SonicOlmstead : If they go from an entirely revamped game that makes even the base game feel outdated to simply sell you DLCs, that's a downgrade for sure. Not doing an upgraded version wouldn't be a downgrade but rather a shift to make just single-entry releases and then whatever they want for spin-offs. And considering P6 is coming to Steam on day one, we all know there'll be modders that will adapt any DLC or upgraded version into the standard one as well as rescuing things seen in previous entries that will not be retained, thus meaning the upgraded version would only sell as intended in consoles and so that could deter them from such upgrade.

This is just an opinion just like yours and I'm fully aware we don't live in an ideal world, but I think this is how things will go. Given how much of a powerhouse this franchise is maybe they can actually make the upgraded version work, time will tell what path do they follow.

Finally seeing the next entry announced after Persona 5 became my favorite game of all time back in 2019 only to be replaced by Royal is surreal to be entirely honest I still wanted one more Persona 5 spin off but I knew it probably wasn't happening at this point. Because we know so little if we avoid the leaks and even with the leaks we don't know a whole lot currently I'm much more excited for Persona 4 Revival but I'm sure my hype will only rise once we see the game properly when the time comes.

On the whole topic of will they or won't they make a better version a few years later I wonder how they'd handle not doing that like will the base game just be it will we get some DLC? Who knows I guess Metaphor was just it so probably yeah just it. I also wouldn't really love that unless Persona 6 is amazing from the jump I love Persona 5 but I could never replay base Persona 5 after Royal, and it's the same with Persona 3 FES, and Persona 4 Golden so them just not doing a better version kind of sounds like a downgrade to me but I get that it's not the most popular opinion.

I would take a 3rd Pokémon version over the stupid DLC some of these Pokémon games have got anyday but that's not super relevant.

I'm glad they finally announced it. I enjoyed some of the Persona 5 spinoffs and I loved Persona 5 in general but it's about time we get something different.

NovemberJoy : They probably won't do a "better" version this time around. When they put out Metaphor they were saying there won't be anything like that for that game and that they're getting away from that sort of business model. I'd be surprised if Persona 6 is any different.

I'm really interested to see them making a sixth (technically seventh?) entry in the series as well. Here's hoping they find an interesting new direction to take things. I dunno when I'll get around to playing it, but I would greatly like to once it comes out. Here's hoping they don't make a better version of the game just a few years later like they did with Persona 5 and SMT5, they've had a bad habit of doing that.

As much as I'd prefer not to link my Google account everywhere, it seems like a lot of people would. I'm glad to see more registrations - the more people show up, the more likely it is that we'll find more people willing to engage with the community and stuff.

The wait isn't over yet, but it's closer to be over. The first teaser trailer for the newest entry in the Persona series has just dropped.

Okay, it's just a minute long and it displays almost nothing. But the teaser is intense as hell, depicting a gloomy cemetary haunted by what possibly will be the main villain of the game. A touch of horror like this would be an absolute blast in this series, hopefully it's not just a cryptic message and it's actually plot-related.

Beyond that, everything we know is that the game will come out on Steam, PS5 and Xbox Series and all its environment. It's precisely on Xbox where it's available for wishlist, which in other times would mean an exclusive early release but nowadays it's very rare to happen. It does seem it will be out on PC day one, which is a massive success for gamers.

I'm definitely wishlisting this one when it's available on Steam. My future life doesn't look like it will give me enough free time for a game this long and addicting, but I'm not saying no to this gem this easily. And surely I'm not the only one.

So, who in here is also hyped for this one? I hope it comes translated to Spanish as they did with P5R, if so I could rally my friends to either get it or play it somehow because they'll absolutely love it.

Not counting Humble bundles, which I tend to buy for the charity more than the games anyway, Ghost Keeper. The demo was the opposite of impressive but the reviews were all people gushing about it being a worthy successor to Ghost Master...

It's not. It can never hope to approach Ghost Master at the rate it's going. Ghost Master had an impressive soundtrack, this has a handful of whisper-quiet tracks. Ghost Master had truly memorable units, some you could even be fond of for themselves instead of their mechanics. This they're utterly forgettable, even the cat (Sir Pounce de Leon) is nothing but his abilities (he can trip a mortal who's running for help to buy you time to do something more dangerous... and since you have three units at a time to Ghost Master's six, with four powers to Ghost Master's up to eight, you can't really afford to waste a slot on a delay tactic). Ghost Master asked you to really think about some puzzles; even the people who thought they were such geniuses at the game they should write guides would miss things like how to remove the Stay-Cold Ice Cream Man. This holds your hand, offering step by step guides for levels that are much smaller and easier than Ghost Master. Ghost Master was rampant chaos, this is surgical strikes and dull waiting for a target to be in half light so you can use a power that isn't available in full light. Would not recommend unless it's on deep discount.

I believe the last game I purchased was Pokemon Legends Z-A, which I bought before going to Italy this past April. The idea was to play it on the plane, but I didn't actually start playing it until I returned home from my trip.

I just bought Resident Evil Requiem for $46 on GameBillet. They had a better sale of the game than Steam itself.
