I started on a new build using an Asus motherboard, but having troubles getting it to post. It does nothing, except the hdd starts up and the fans run at 100%. I've tried running it on integrated graphics , with no luck. No beeps, without ram installed. I know it's not a PSU issue since I've used it only for a few months, it was new when I got it. I've just read that Asus boards are picky about what ram will work on them. The ram I'm using are 2x Hynix HMT151R7BFR4C-H9 4gb ECC unbuffered ram, the cheapest 8GB option I could find on Amazon. Is it possible that my bios needs to be updated? If that's the case, the only alternate cpu I have is an Am2 CPU.

Specs of build:
Asus M5A78L/USB-3 mother board
2x 4gb ram
XFX Radeon 6870 Black Edition
Logisys 550 watt PSU
AMD Phenom ii x4 840T

Vanelan : I looked around and there are phenom ii for socket AM2+, or at least on Amazon.  I checked on the Lenovo website and it says that my system supports AM2+ CPUs. I also checked the change log for the bios updates and there's one that adds support for AM3 CPUs in a previous version, and I have the latest.

I just got a Lenovo A62 type 9935 motherboard and I'm planning on upgrading from Athlon 64 X2 500B to a quad-core  to Phenom ii or Athlon II.
I checked the chipset and it supports both of them. If the chipset supports them and they fit in the CPU socket, will it work on my mobo? For the record, I already updated my bios to the latest one.

I just started watching The Idolmaster. I started to watch it out of boredom. From what I'm seeing from the first episode, it's pretty good. There's even a trap in this, where one of the character's actually a girl, but looks/sounds like a guy.

The last anime I was watching was Kantai Collection. Almost done with the series, just waiting for the last episode to come out, which is this Wednesday.

I would recommend Kantai Collection the most, since it's one of the most popular anime right now. There are some cutesy scenes, just as a FYI. You get to learn about WWII, since it's based on it.
I also Would recommend Hidan no Aria (Aria the Scarlet Ammo), it has plenty of action scenes. Also, the commentaries for the previews of the next episode on the English dubbed version are funny.
Angel Beats, since it's my top favorite. Another popular one.

thenumberone : Sorry for the late update on how are thing going with my problem. I tried everything you suggested, but system restore because there are not any available restore points. Still no luck. In the past 2 days, I've been getting a new "glitched screen" (screenshot in the first post), then my computer freezes on me completely sometimes. Also on motherboard's boot screen I would sometimes get artifacts (will try to get a picture of it). On top of my motherboard's boot screen,  on Windows boot screen, a  few vertical turquoise lines would show up and then the BSOD appears, with vertical lines all over it. This isn't a hard ware failure, or is it?

My favorite song is: "Love Is A Beautiful Pain" by Cliff Edge ft. Maiko Nakamura. It's my favorite song of all time because of the nice lyrics.

6/10 It's an ok song, I was surprised that it didn't have any lyrics.

Next one is one my favorite, and it's pulled out of my YouTube channel.

From time to time, random turquoise pixels would show up on my screen

, sometimes they go away. Other times they don't

and multiply, eventually I would get a atikmdag.sys

address read blue screen of death. Second problem, once in a while my display would crash and reload, the screen becomes like no color and the circle of my start orb becomes orange (screenshot 2). When I restart my computer in this state, the windows shutting down screen is orange. In both cases, I sometimes get the blue screen of death mentioned earlier.

My computer specs:
MSI - P6NGM-FD motherboard
Pentium Dual Core 2.7 GHz
ATI Radeon HD 4870 512 Mb graphics card
4Gb Ram
