Your nine year old son showed be playing Grand Theft Auto, picking up hookers, and screwing them in his car. Stuff like that does have an impact on a child so really it depends on what the kids are playing and the parents supervision of what there kid is playing...... People will get mad at first but they will get over it and dish out the money for the PS4. Although I wouldnt expect a PS4 anytime soon just because of the capabilities behind the PS3.
