kirbmanboggle : I evolve multiple times, the Blacklight virus coursing through my veins, my name changes to Alex Mercer and myself and James Heller absorb the nuclear blast while shielding the bullets with our shield powers. Using the energy absorbed, James leaps into the sky, dropping with a highly boosted Cannonball attack while I activate my Claw power and tear you limb from limb.

Okay, I'm back again, in need of another 2K Viz, aiming for the Netplay item, don't need to donate the entire sum, but any donations are appreciated, after that, it's the Playstation item, but lets not worry about that extra 50K right now, onwards, to the Netplay. -------------------- |

rcarter2 : Well, it's more along the lines of a deathless 'time attack' as it were. To save on memory, and subsequently, upload time, I propose this; Instead of simply running up to LVL 40 and calling time there, why not see how far you can go within the space of just an hour, you will earn 50 Viz per level (10 levels should be easy to do in around half an hour, so that's half the original bet) and, because of the myriad of pitfalls and hazards, you still have 5 failures (Not including deaths, I.E, walking off the edge of the map into oblivion, or falling a great height and killing the flea, but the fails I'll allow are breaking tiles, the chain stopping and preventing further progression and the Trigger tile no being the last to fall, and running out of time.) after the 6th failure, it's classed as a loss on your end. So, basically, it's 1 hour, aiming for deathless (But not fail-less in general) to clear as many stages as you like, I'll allow you to go over an hour if you're part way through a stage, obviously. for 50 Viz per stage, and a bonus of 1000 Viz if you don't fail or die at all in that hour. Because of the type of game, I'd say that's as close to 'deathless' as it's going to get, really. rcarter2 : Actually, would it be possible to change my challenge to something a little more... Interesting? Same game, just a different challenge as it were, if you're interested, let me know, if you'd rather keep it as it is, then that's fine too, just thought you might find the new challenge a little more worthwhile, for a game like Push Over, since it's a pretty large game overall, perhaps what I have in mind may make it more bearable, and, while not technically deathless, my previous bet of 1000 bonus Viz for no fails is still valid. Mega Lo Mania was a game I played religiously as a kid, despite owning games with much, much more hype about them, a lot of them paled in comparison to this, not only is it simple to understand, but for the Gensis, this game was right up there with the greats like the Sonic series, Alex Kidd and the Shenobi games. In my opinion, Mega Lo Mania is THE first Strategy game to reach consoles, sure, there were earlier titles which required some form of strategy on earlier systems, but none required as much thought and effort as this. Read on, if you dare. Graphics: 7/10 While nowadays, the graphics for this game would appear primitive, for it's time, the pixelated terrain, buildings and characters were at the height of graphical development, while not as in-depth and detailed as Sonic the Hedgehog and Alex Kidd, it certainly fits in with the overall concept of the game, giving the player the feel of being their people's god as they command soldiers and workers about their lives. Despite all this, I personally feel that the player is left a little underwhelemed by the Graphics, as very little effort was put in to make the larger objects more detailed, leaving them grainy and extremely blocky. Because of the lack of detail, yet the generally fitting graphics, I give this section a somewhat generous 7 of 10. Sound: 7/10 Much like the graphics, the sound and musical scores for Mega Lo Mania are, nowadays, seen as primitive, and shoddy, but, no-one can deny that the tracks are catchy, and fitting for the segments of the game in which they feature. When However, the music for Mega Lo Mania is very repetitive, and has very little variety, with only two main tracks, one for the level Alongside this lack of musical variety, there are many sound effects and voice overs, something that hadn't been seen a great deal before the release of Mega Lo Mania, with each character having their own professional voice actor, and other voices to inform you of completed tasks, destroyed buildings, and even victory/defeat. Sensible Software, almost redeem themselves with the sounds for this game, scoring a generous 7 out of 10. Addictiveness: 10/10 This game is ridiculously addictive, as stated in my opening comment, this game almost became a new religion for me when I was growing up, I remember getting my Genesis at the age of 5-6, and it came with three cartridges, this game was one of them, and in three or four years, I completed this game around 20 times, each time I approached things differently and still had as much fun as I did the first time around. In truth, this game holds that perfect balance of Frustration and Fun, making it both replayable, and annoying in large doses, and any who have played this game for a significant time, will agree with it's ability to draw you back to it time and again. And, personally, it was one of the first games I looked for upon discovering Vizzed, simply because, I loved it before, and I still love it today, and even after 10 or so years, I'm still hooked on this 'original' RTS. Story: 2/10 Any who've played Mega Lo Mania will know that if you're looking for a story, then you're better off looking for another game, the premise is as simple as the gameplay. The player takes on the role of a god, or overlord, and commands their followers to world domination, slowly ploughing through island after island in different 'ages' or stages, called Epochs, crushing their foes and moving on to the next luckless set of warriors on the way to 'The Mother of all Battles' to decide the fate of the universe. As you may imagine, the game itself gets somewhat repetitive, still following the story that is told when loading the game up, but, like most RTS games of it's time, Mega Lo Mania only has one objective. WIN! Because of the above comments, I rate the story for Mega Lo Mania a measly 2 out of 10, however, the lack of story does NOT detract from the game's playability. Depth: 8/10 Mega Lo Mania is a huge game, even by todays standards, offering 10 stages of 3 levels, each with their own strategic points, certain area's provide certain resources to develop the buildings and units available to your people, some providing an abundance of design plans, while others merely serve as points with which to stall your enemies advance towards your more productive area's. Along with the differing resources, they are not all, however, available from the word go, as you complete different weapon/instalment designs, the 'Tech Level' of the area rises, and with each Tech Level, more becomes available, meaning that the already large amount of gameplay takes time to progress through, forcing the player to 'level up' mine resources, and unlock more designs in order to lather, rinse and repeat. Along with resources that become available with increases in Tech Level, the player gains access to buildings such as the Mine, the Factory and the Lab, each of which providing further resources and abilities to add on to the next level up, bringing your people forward from the most primitive of humans, to the present day and beyond, needless to say, this game is both large, and offers a lot for players. Because of the sheer scale of the game itself, this section wins an easy 8 out of 10. Difficulty: 9/10 Mega Lo Mania's difficulty varies depending on the players approach to the game, but, as players progress through the games ages and levels, their enemies become smarter and more ruthless, providing both alliances to the player, and forming them against the player. In the later stages, no matter how players approach this game, the difficulty will ramp up significantly from the early stages, requiring more thought, and a much more frantic and erratic behaviour, leaving players cancelling the production of designs and higher-level building to deploy a defensive military to fight off an almost relentless barrage of attacks, and yet, they are still required to advance their civilization, lest their foes leapfrog over them with superior numbers and technology. With Mega Lo Mania's varying difficulty, yet the obvious need for greater numbers at a later date, I score this segment with a 9 out of 10, it's not impossible, but, it is by no means easy to steamroll through. Overall: 8.5/10 As a heavy gamer myself, taking all of my above statements and opinions into account, I score Mega Lo Mania an 8.5 out of 10, for it's time, the game was excellent, and, if we were still in the days of the Sega Genesis, this game would score a full 10 from me, and, I have no doubt that one or two other players of this game would score the same. The one thing that trully lets this game down, is the lack of interim saves, meaning that, if a player is pulled away from the game, or power is cut for one reason or another, they are forced to return to the start of the stage in it's entirety, with all three levels for the stage reverting to the 'incomplete' states they were in, leaving the player somewhat frustrated if they had, for example, completed 2 of the 3 levels. Despite that lack of saves, players are NOT forced to return to the very start of the game, like many Sega Genesis games, and provides passwords for the stage as a whole. And, as there is no section dedicated to this area of commenting, I felt it more at home with the overall rating. ------------------------------ Regardless, this game is well worth playing, and I would recommend it to any gamer, hopefully, those that do play it in the future, or those that have played it, see it's brilliance despite it's myriad shortcomings, because this game, is, quite frankly, brilliant. Okay, so, I've held off on this competition long enough, I'm not expecting anything major to happen, but, ho-hum, we'll see how this goes. I'll Edit this post once I've uploaded the video(s) complete with links, just a quick question. Also, the following is for Davideo7: We don't HAVE to complete the game in order to submit the video's, do we? Since a few of my submissions are from some seriously long games, and I'd still be here next March getting the recordings. I'm asking because I've seen a few people mention that players need to take a screenshot of the ending screen, not sure if that's end of the game, or end of the video? EDIT: Scratch that, sadly, my browser seems to be taking literally forever to upload the video, I mean, in the time between originally posting this, and this edit, it's uploaded 5%, and I've done nothing else on the computer (I even disappeared and played FFXIII's final chapter in that time) so, I'm regrettably not going to be able to join in with this, or future, competitions, unless they become less... rcarter2 : Hmm, yeah, I forgot about those, my bad, lets say the first 40 levels? And, at my last playthrough, it took about 4 hours to complete all 100 levels, with failures and deaths so, I'll cut it down to less than half way, just to make it easier on yourself. Hmm, I'm willing to throw down 1000 Viz that you can't play a full level set of Push Over for the SNES, you'll find it on my games profile, however, since there are multiple ways to fail, how about this. You MUST play the entire game with no deaths and you have a maximum of 5 level failures, due to the plethora of fail constraints, to prove it's you playing, on the password screen, scale up from 0-9 on the FIRST Dial only before starting the game, there are 100 Levels, so, good luck. I'll throw in another 1000 Viz if you can complete all the levels with NO failures at all, this second bet only counts if you manage it, failing to complete this "Bonus" challenge, as it were, will cost you nothing, and I will pay this bet, in full. Now, I'm not sure if a thread like this would go here, if not, then the staff can move it to it's rightful place without any informing of myself, I honestly couldn't decide if it should go here, or in the guides section, since it's informative, but not quite a game guide, and despite my extensive gaming knowledge, most of the games I own, I've not actually 100% very many of them. Okay, so, in my intro thread, Cactuar mentioned having trouble within a game, and, automatically, I decided to offer some advice to avoid the minor set back that had been experienced. It was then, that I thought to myself "Hey, you need Viz, why not offer the same service to the site at large, and charge for it". After that, I put the creation of this thread into motion. So, I'll offer multiple services, ranging from simple item hints, (E.G. In order to become super sonic in Sonic generations you need all seven chaos emeralds, earned by defeating Metal Sonic, Shadow and Silver, along with the three you gain from the defeat of all three regular bosses.) to Miniature area walkthroughs, and even puzzle/boss/battle strategies in RPG's and other game types, all of which, will posses different prices, read on for my price list.
While these Prices are not set to change any time soon, offers for the walkthrough's may be made to ensure I don't overdo the posts. Also, IF my hints/tips are not of any use to you, show me proof, and I will refund any Viz paid to you, proof being screen grabs or video's. And I can almost guarantee that the trick and tips posted in this thread work, as I'll only ever post what I've learned through my own gaming experience. The Tips/Tricks Definitions Item Hint: This is quite simple, if you need to find a certain item, for example, the KOTR Materia is FFVII, then I'll tell you where, and how to get it, if, in the same game, you need megalixir's, I know a way to farm them, that actually works (Really, there is a way, this is a glitch, but, it's pretty well known, and sits in 9/10 FFVII walkthrough's anyway.) Mini- Walkthrough: This is NOT a brief walkthrough of the ENTIRE game, you tell me where you're stuck, and I'll tell you where to go from there, it's quite simple really, example of this, would be the Deku Tree dungeon in Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of time, I know that the majority of people to play this game already know that dungeon like the back of their hands, but, that was just a reference, I'd write out a walkthrough from beginning to end for the ENTIRE dungeon, this type of hint/tip will take the longest to respond to, as I WILL re-play the dungeon, just to be sure of my knowledge. Boss Hint/Trick: Stuck against a boss? Don't want to reload an old save, or restart the game in order to grind and come back with some super powerful characters that kill every enemy in one hit? Then come to me, I'll tell you every trick there is to killing your adversary, for example, if you were struggling to defeat GI Natak in Cosmo Canyon on FFVII, I'd tell you to spam Phoenix down's on that undead son of a gun. Puzzle Hint/Trick: Is there a puzzle that's boggling your mind, struggling to get your head around something that should be simple? Well, I'm your man, come to me for assistance. Battle Hint/Trick: Want to know the best enemies to farm for items/exp, this is what you're after, not only will I tell you the best enemies to hunt in order to gain what you need, but, I'll also tell you the best way to hunt them down. Other: Tips labelled 'Other' are not on my price list, for the simple reason of, I'm willing to let you name a price after I've posted the tip/trick, if it doesn't work for you, then don't pay, however, anything listed above, is NOT subject to the offer ruling, these tips are offered for anything that you don't feel fits in the above area's, for example, Weapon/armour customisation in Final Fantasy X, it's not a Battle Hint, and it's not a Walkthrough, nor is it an Item hint, so, it's classed as 'Other' and would be priced as you, the client, deem necessary. Anyway, if anyone needs me, I'll be in the RGR, post here if you need anything, and know that I'll be around most of the day, every week day, so you may not have to wait very long for a response from me. Until next time, folks. DISCLAIMER: I do NOT own every game known to man, nor do I claim to know everything about every game, my knowledge is broad, but I'm only human, and definitely not Chuck (If anyone remembers that show, there's 9000 internets on the table.) Also, as a side note. I WILL NOT offer cheats or glitch information, gameplay tips only, shortcuts and alternative methods are NOT cheats or glitches, so try not to get the two mixed up. An example of this, would be... Cheat:- The code to access level Hint/Tip:- The easiest way to defeat Seymour Flux at the summit of MT. Gagazet without taking a large amount of damage is to summon Yojimbo with a full Overdrive gauge and pay him 100,000 Gil to use Zanmato, instantly killing this boss.
Hello there, I'm pretty new, so, Instead of trying (And likely failing, misserably) to create my own layout, I thought I'd come here, I've seen your work around the site, and I'll admit, I like what I see. Anyways, if you could use this picture. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CwBYJLfXSe4/TrFr4Fr0Z9I/AAAAAAAACR8/Ik48MFE2qBE/s1600/SnowVilliers.png And edit in, somewhere "Even a Hero's gotta change sometime" with the text box between the two characters, don't worry about having it overlap their hands. That'd be awesome. Also, could the layout possibly include http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfu0XBf8kmk in one of the corners. Thanks in advance, and, if you so desire, I'll transfer the 900 Viz before the layout is sent, your choice. Okay, I'm aiming for three items at the moment, but, since they all cost differing amounts, I'm just shooting for the 8K mark at the moment (For the GBA item, that emulator is churning through my Viz right now xD) So, any donations will be accepted gratefully, and, thank you in advance, because I'm conscientious like that So, any donations will be accepted gratefully, and, thank you in advance, because I'm conscientious like that -------------------- |

Brigand : It probably won't, in the last... Eight, years, I think... We've gone through three PS2's, two slims and an original chunky, sure, they still work, but they all have totally different issues. The Chunky won't play any DVD Rom games, only PSX and the black/blue/purple based PS2 games. One slim will only play DVD Rom games and the other, you need to wedge the lid open slightly, otherwise the centre grip thinks the lids pressed down against it and it won't spin. Heck, even my PSX is in much better working order xD The Chunky won't play any DVD Rom games, only PSX and the black/blue/purple based PS2 games. Well, that was fun, I've just spent the better part of twenty minutes looking through all my save files, ever... And the winner is... Final Fantasy XII. Over 6 save files, I've amassed over 1500 hours of gameplay, sad, I know, and none of these files are duplicates of another, so thats 1500 solid hours, and all of which were approached with differing strategies, the latest file, for example, I'm still in the Barheim passage. and Vaan and Balthier have maxed License boards already, that save alone has 200+ hours, and I've not even unlocked all the characters o,O Why have I got so many hours? Simply because I'm that kinda nerd who will always, ALWAYS, replay an RPG to see if there's another way it can be done, with most FF games, the answer to that, is no, but you can play some awesome mini-games. Which, sadly, there aren't that many of on XII, barring the hunts, which I've done all of, on one save or another, I also spent forever gathering ultimate weapons and armour, and all the super powerful accessories, all the small trophies for the Phon Coast etc. I'll grab my capture at some point and grab a thirty second video of the load screen and what not. Sacrifice a small child to the great god Imhotep. Or, alternatively... simply keep a Disk 1 save and reload it, never go beyond Nibelheim and there you have it, Aerith never dies. I noticed an earlier comment about Zack being ressurectible, which, if Aerith WAS revived would make the first of the Sephiroth battles much, much easier, since I heard tell in a few walkthroughs that it's possible to attack with 3 parties, instead of just two, a load of Twadle, I know, but still, it'd be pretty cool. Personally, I got used to Aerith's death pretty quickly, mostly because it took me forever to work out that my original FFVII's first disc was dead and kept crashing before the disk-change screen (Which frankly annoyed the crap out of me), meaning, I watched the stabby stabby scene around 30 times before ever completing the story line. Oh, and, if you think about it... She WAS revived... As Yuna. Or, alternatively... simply keep a Disk 1 save and reload it, never go beyond Nibelheim and there you have it, Aerith never dies. Hmm, purely because I succeeded with making you laugh with my first attempt, I think I'll try again. A blind old man walks into a bar, takes a seat, and turns to the bartender. "Excuse me, sir, would you like to hear a Blonde joke?" The elderly customer asked, a small smile playing his lips. The bartender's brows rose slowly as a number of people all looked to the blind man before he spoke. "Well, on your right hand side is a seven foot body builder, he's blonde, I'm blonde, the bikini model on your left is also blonde and the gang of bikers by the window are all blonde, are you sure you want to tell that joke?" The blind man thinks for a moment, frowns and shrugs "Maybe not the best idea, then... It'd take too long to explain it that many times."
