Hi people, I am posting this to see if anybody is interested in starting a game making uh . . . "group" if you will. another words, a coder, a graphics dude, a music man/chick, story writer, etc. . etc. This can be either in any of RPG Makers or with straight code. Im interested in doing either.

I would love to do the graphics for the game (as art is one of my "passions" but I don't have the patience to continue coding my game So I'd like to start over and work with a few other people. (Because thats where the best games come from of coarse)

If anybody is interested speak up!

i Have taken note to your comment and I have edited the post accordingly. As for the FF3 thing, I have gottem most of the way through it on the NES version with a reasonably good translation and part the way through it with a rather crap Wonderswan translation.

Im glad to here that someone else's favorite FF is 8. : ) To give you a better idea of the new final fantasys I will explain to you how the new ones are supposed to be. If you are a fan of final fantasy tactics story (which i truely am) and music you will especially like FF12 because the character development, the story and the music are all very similar to that of Final Fantasy Tactics. This is essentially because it is mainly the same team that created it. I can hardly wait to fully play this game. As for Dirge of Cerberus, I wouldn't waste my time. I may play this game more for "religious" reasons if you will, only because it says Final Fantasy in the title (which is the only reason why i chose to play through FFX-2). But Vincent is a far cry from Lara Croft, and they should never intertwine these very different genres. Although this could very possibly help to maintain the future of Final Fantasy titles to come. We'll see. . .

Thank you for bringing that up, im glad we see eye to eye friend. I was merely trying to open some peoples eyes to the greater realm of originality that exists in final fantasy that people may over look.

This topic is regarding Quiet Chaos statements towards FF2 in the "FF1 and FF2 thread" i previously posted. This statement is directed essentially towards him/her.

Okay, You seem to have strong opinions regarding most of the Final Fantasy titles but have supplied no strong arguement nor reason for any of them except FF2 and that isn't even a valid statement, its a biest opinion.

I strongly disagree with you. Final Fantasy has progressed as far as it does for several reasons but mainly for one. In every FF there is a different method of customizing and upgrading your characters. Each and everyone is different. Its like saying FFX sucked because the battle system was completely different from the rest of the series. Yet you didn't say that for some reason, although FFX battle system does stray incredibly from the rest of the series. I would gladly give details if you desired.

FF2 was ONLY THE SECOND in the series and introduced the idea of changing battle systems with each game. A VERY experimental idea at the time. I think you fail to realize what they may have been trying to do.

FF3 also changed a great deal from FF1 and FF2 as well in that it is the first to use job points. A completely new idea at the time.

Next we have FF4, the first to establish actual story based characters while using previously designated jobs and a skill system that is strictly learned by specific characters, also the only FF to date where you can have 5 characters at a time.

FF5 reused the idea of job points while still retaining actual story based characters (unlike FF3 where your characters mean little to the story like FF1) and a skill learning system.

FF6 was truely the mile stone in this skill devoloping endevure. The Idea of getting "espers" and learning all of your magic from them at certain percents and having elements/attributes drawn from your equipment and equipped espers.

Okay now here is where I make my point yet again. You are not seeing what they were trying to here. You say FF7 didn't make it upto par with the rest of the series. Well lets step back and look at what we had to compair to in the rest of the series. This is THE FIRST FF to have fully 3D graphics or any at all for that matter. So again, the idea was VERY experimental at the time. Plus, the system the FF7 introduced was truely genious. Where they for the first time sacrifice the strong use of equipment, they make up for it by allowing you to basically fully customize the skill development of all of your characters through the materia system. Although this also is the first time the FF series has only seen 3 characters in battle.

From here on out, the battle system and skill development completely changes each time.

FF8 uses the GF system where you not only customize the GFs but the characters as well by junctioning the abilities/elements/attributes learned by the GFs to fully customize how your character can be used. Obviously aside from the capabilities given to the character from the beginning.

FF9, also done very well. It reestablishes the idea of a 4 character party seems and reuses the full use of equipment. Not only this but as you well know im sure, the skill learning system is quite unique where you learn everything through your equipment.

FFX was one of the breaking points of Final Fantasy. In its release, it offered some many new features it wasn't even funny. Although they, for some reason, sacrificed a largely significant piece of FF games; that being a world map you may actually travel on. But where they have lost this aspect, they offer the sphere grid, the in-battle character change feature, controlling of Aeons, etc.

Need I go on? Im sure you get my point by now. Every FF has a different method of offering the RPG experience to you in there own way, and each is done very well in my opinion. You seem to have unwitingly picked out 2 of the only experimental FF games in the entire series to rag on. Where instead you should be praising them.

Well, you are indeed still entitled to your opinions; just consider what I say before you regard these titles as less significant. : )

Thank you all for your time.

Im afraid thats how it goes in the anime downloading realm. You just need a fast internet connection. If you have dial-up don't even bother. If you do it constantly you should be able to get about 5 episodes done. Or just leave an entire series on for about 5 days, its tedious but as they say "a watch kettle doesn't boil" or atleast thats what my grandmother tells me all the time.

People make the scripting much harder than it really is. You just have to get an understanding of what all the code that is already there, some programming knowledge helps though. It's good practice to go through each of them and translate the comments, that way you don't forget what the code does.

hold up people, you're not even looking at the simple problems yet. Did you make sure that the images were all 256 colors? Thats required for all ASCII makers before XP.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
