Boured : Yeah, I forgot about just using a RGB to YPbPr transcoder to be honest. It's probably the easiest option for someone looking to use a CRT. I personally go for a PC CRT tho so I can get those PVM like scan lines and 480p (when I finally get the stuff to actually use 480p) alongside 15kHz stuff. It is definitely all about what you're satisfied with and how much you can/want to spend on a set up in both time, and money ![]() |

== Unofficial Vizzed Netplay Pack Download ==
Unofficial Vizzed Netplay Pack - "Base" (~100MB uncompressed, ~50MB download) Mirror Unofficial Vizzed Netplay Pack - "CD Expansion" (~14GB uncompressed, ~8GB download) Mirror You can find more info about the Unofficial Vizzed Netplay Pack here. == Original Post == I haven't been on in months, and found out today that the RGR plugin will be obsoleted at the end of the year with the discontinuation of the Flash plugin. In the end, this is a good thing overall, as Flash is a security nightmare (and honestly RGR never worked very well on low end machines, I speak from experience), but RGR netplay and the tournaments hosted for them (as wack as they, looking back on them after experiencing "proper" tournament formats with fighting games) are clearly important, and I think I have a decent long term solution that works for some of the fighting game communities I'm in. Funnily enough, my suggestion is an emulator that the RGR already currently uses: mednafen. mednafen supports many different emulators (unlike Retroarch, it uses predetermined cores included with the emulator), and supports netplay with a couple simple commands for most systems (it has GB(C) and GBA cores, but doesn't support netplay as its not possible to emulate the link cable protocols strict timings over the internet, just to name a couple). Well mednafen does support most systems people play on netplay, like Turbo Grafx, NES, SNES, Genesis, and even PS1, it doesn't support all consoles currently in the RGR, like arcades games, or the N64, so different emulators would be needed for those. The fighting game communities I'm in revolve around a specific game, naturally, and for the communities that use mednafen, we have a "netplay pack" zip file you can download, that includes mednafen and the game, and some instructions on how to connect to netplay, make it as easy as download, extract, and play. For example, here is the netplay pack we use in the Digimon Rumble Arena community. To adapt this same approach to Vizzed, all we'd have to do is make a list of our top netplay games as a community (obviously, Bomberman '94 is top of the list That's just the basic solution tho that doesn't require Davideo7 or any staff to agree with the approach. Of course, Davideo7 would probably like a method more central to the site, so a more exciting solution might be to make a Vizzed specific front end for mednafen. Something I forgot to mention before is that mednafen doesn't have a GUI, and has to be ran from the command line (Ex: mednafen "Digimon Rumble Arena.cue"), which might sound scary to some (tho I personally love the simplicity), but the upside to this is it gives people the creative freedom to make their own "front ends" for mednafen, hiding away the command line bit of mednafen, and letting you change all of the emulator's settings and launch games from a custom GUI. An example of the best front end I've seen for mednafen is MedLaunch, tho it is a bit outdated as it hasn't been The only thing I didn't really mention, is that mednafen's netplay uses a server/client model, which makes connecting to netplay very simple on the players end, but does require someone to host netplay servers to connect to. Thankfully, there are plenty of public netplay servers out there (I run a few of them myself!), and I'm pretty sure some community members have already set some up for us in the RGR's current netplay incarnation. I won't waste space here on how to set one up, or what public one's already exist, so I'll just link to some pages about it. List of public mednafen netplay servers My guide on setting up a netplay server TL;DR: In the future, we can create a simple and sweet downloadable netplay pack of our favorites to keep playing netplay with each other post-2020, and perhaps we could use this idea as a base for what the RGR "plugin" looks like in the future. Y'all should check out the YouTube channel My Life in Gaming. It's run by a couple videophiles, and its by far the best resource out there for learning how to get the best signal possible from your retro consoles, explaining all sorts of things like different video signals (composite, component, RGB, ect.), video sync, interlaced vs progressive video, and just all sorts of things.
For anyone in the US, best way to take advantage of RGB video is either to use an upscaler like the OSSC (takes component/RGB video signals from a SCART or 5x RCA jacks) and cleaning line doubles them with HDMI output (great for modern HDTVs), or to get a PVM (Professional Video Monitor, namely Sony's PVM line). Personally, I use a PC CRT monitor with an old line doubler (XRGB2plus), but you could also use an OSSC with one using a HDMI -> VGA adapter. Some people even mod normal consumer CRT sets for RGB input, but I wouldn't advise opening up a CRT, much less mod it Important note: There was a Japanese video standard called JP-21, that was an "all in one" video connector in the same vain as SCART, and even used the exact same connectors, but had different pinouts and aren't intercompatible, so watch out for that, and stick exclusively SCART cables, or JP-21 cables. It seems there isn't any options under profile settings to change the gender listed on your account. Is there any way for me to change my profile to say female? I signed up with this account years ago and still pop in from time to time, so I'd like to change it if I can ![]() |

Um, did anyone look at Noyb42's post? I think they responded to a post on the first or second page, because The Adventure of Link jumped up like 11 points and The Wind Waker came back out of nowhere, even tho it got eliminated already. Honestly don't know what to do about it, and I'm not gonna respond to the post before Noyb42's 'cause everyone's already mad I'm just downvoting OoT ![]() |

Davideo7 :
1) When I was on this morning at 5-8ish EST, it was peaceful and had a grand old time playing, but when I got on just now, it was back on Normal >.> 2) When I tested any of the command blocks, none of them seemed to work. I only tried the return to spawn plate in the pixel art area, and the gold shovel button at spawn tho. 3) Nope. I did claim my house out in superflat, but theres some unclaimed. The unfinished Simon Belmont at (88, 4, 487), The Triforce and Dolak at (55, 4, 536) is unclaimed, and the Pokemon/Mario pixel art at (0, 4, 488) is also unclaimed, just to give a few examples. Also, I just tried to open the DynMap and that isn't loading either. Davideo7 :

Davideo7 : Not staff but I just happened to already join. Great to see everything back! Only issues I see off the bat is:
1) You left the difficulty on Normal, not Peaceful. I keep dying to an unholy amount of mobs storming everywhere and I'm the only player in the server for them to storm 2) Not a single command block I've found works. I'm not an OP (obviously) so maybe there is some output I'm not seeing, but there is no effect and there's no server output. Not even a "You don't have [username]'s permission to use this", just nothing. Maybe they didn't retain their commands? Can't check. 3) Not everything seems to be claimed by their original owner anymore. Weither or not it has a claim is hit or miss, but my Cobblestone pyrimand out in the superflat section (the one surronded by pony art I didn't think to check to see if I have my mViz still, but honestly I don't remember if I had any left. I do have all of my stuff in my chests tho, so thats good.
