Would it be possible to get ROM's for the Japanese versions of HeartGold and SoulSilver on GYR? There are some translation patches out there as well, so people could find them to use or you could put a patched ROM up as well. Just curious.

Yeah ok, I'll look into it in the next few days and post some links here, which will get added to GYR a bit later after that.
The only thing is that the SS/HG roms have some heavy copy protection, so we'll need to find the protection stripper first.

Hmm, having some problems finding a patch the works well (the patches I have found end up glitching the game after a while) so this might take longer then I thought.
The main issue is that the game crashes just after the tutorial at the start when you first go into the Pokemon world when you play the rom on an emulator.
It's the protection mode for the game. I'm still looking into how to get around it.

Edit: I see from another post you have an AR code that gets around this, do you have to put the code in every time you start the rom or just the once?
I read elsewhere that continual use of the AR code does something funny to the games save file...

You put it in the first time and then turn it on when you start (double-click the cheat) every time. Also, I've been using it for a while, and I haven't had a problem with my save.
