This semester in French 201, my professor realized that I was struggling on my first exam because I barely passed it. She suggested tutoring and I began to go & it has been helping me.

She also offered to translate just the directions on the exam to English for me and only me, which has been working too.

Question is, how can I TRY to ensure this direction translation accommodation can follow me into next level French, next semester (French 202), since my professor will not be teaching 202?

I want to sound professional & polite, not pushy, about this for whoever is my next professor.

I understand that this next professor is NOT obligated to do this for me & that there is NO guarantee it will happen. I was honestly shocked when my current professor offered to do this for me!

Also, if it helps, I do take exams in my schools Office of Accessability, with other Accomodations too.

Hi, I have Autism and went on to earn my Associates, Bachelors and Masters. So I will try to offer some advice.

Sounds like you have documentation about your other accommodations. I would recommend talking to your school's disability coordinator. He or she will be able to discuss this with you.  if you need  additional accommodations the coordinator would be the one to tell you want you need and how to go about it. I don't know if your in America or not. But in the US once documentation is provided. Teachers have to honor the accommodations. Failure in accommodating when documentation is provided is a violation of the Title act of 1973 and the Disability Right acts of 1991. A lot of countries have similar acts.

Here was some of my accommodations I had when I was in school and college.

Take tests in a quite locations (testing Center)
Has unlimited time
Uses large print
Type on a computer
Uses visual aids
has extra time to get to class if needed due to illness
Has a scribe if needed
has a class note taker

I only had one teacher who did not want to honor my accommodations. I reminded her in a firm but polite way that she had too. She would not budge. So I told the disability coordinator about it. She called and told her she had to do it as she would be in violation of the Disability Rights act and could get into serious legal trouble.

I hope this helps
