Hope died during the Summon. You have to be really bad for that.
My Snow has almost 11000 hope doesint even have 6000 His Character dies dies dies when ever hes been on worst character ever.

for me whyt though he is not technically a party member i like how you can customise and all that but what ruined it for me was the random uses of the abillites i mean sometimes hes spammy and on other times your so close to winning a hard battle but he uses the most pointless abilites

This thread is pointless. Any character in FF is only as useful as you make it!

FF I:Each job has a distinced and different use. If you can't see it then you're blind...

FF IV:Cid can not be in the final battle. Edward wasn't meant to be in the final battle, but he's good anyways.

FF VI: No one is useless in FF VI...I don't know how bad of a player you have to be to think any one from FF VI is useless.
violawes : Umaru is the opposite of useless. You must not know how to build him. Plus, BERSERKER'S ARE NOT FLIP'IN USELESS!!!!! Chrono Trigger(Square Enix game and same type as FF) I kept Frog with the berserker ring the entire time and it was insane! Especially for Umaru since you get to choose battle to battle what attack he is berserking.

FF VII:Cait Sith is a wonderfull char with hes own special style. He was in my finnal team. in the same ff (the only exeption) aeris/aerith. She was designed to be one of the worst battle characters so that !!!SPOILER:you don't miss her when she dies at the end of disc one:RELIOPS!!!

FF VIII:I used Quisstis in the final battle. She has a really high magic attack and a higher success rate for drawing magic.

FF IX:Amarant is a beast!!! Don't you dare say he is useless. I'm surrprised no one said Eiko because through most of the game she dose appear useless, but she's really usefull.

FF X:I use Kimhari frequently because I taught him all the Haste and defensive spells and he was faster than Tidus.

FF XIII:Hope is so useful!!! he is the best ravager there is. He is the only character to be able to learn all elemental spells as a Ravager, so his skills for dealing magical damage and skyrocketing the enemy's stagger gage is paralleled by no one! He is always in my team. Alot of the time he gets a bad rap because people think he's gay and all that crap but as long as you take the time to make him good, he will be the most valuable player there!

That's it and hopefully that settles this for good. THERE ARE NO USELESS CHARACTERS IN THE FINAL FANTASY ROMAN NUMERAL GAMES!!!!!!!!!

Shane_Harles : 1. Depending on the way you play there is going to be a useless character. Like I'm a heavy magic user so fighting characters are more useless to me than they would be to someone else. So my threads not useless TT-TT lol.

FF IV: A white/black mage character does almost all the things a bard does except better.

In FF Tactics there are a couple of useless characters like Rapha and Marach. Their attacks are to random and do moderate damage.

Shane_Harles : As much as I understand what you're saying, I guess people just don't like Beserkers in general because of the fact that you lose control of them. I don't like the fact of not being able to decide what they do in battle. And besides, I'd never use Umaro in the last battle against Kefka and his cohorts XD.

Cait Sith from FF7. I never used him unless I was forced.

Selphie from FF8. I could never get her friggin weapon to do any good damage.

Quina Quen from FF9. I would have liked her if I hadn't had to eat the enemies to get their powers. That was annoying.

Khimari from FF10. Pretty much the only thing useful that he had was the Ultima sphere on his sphere grid.

Penelo from FF12. Small, weak, and low defense. Need I say more?

I choose the Oracle class from FFV advance. It was useless. I mean, at least the Bards had Requiem for massive damage against Undead. Oracle's had no good attacks and their Prayer thing had a chance of backlash against the whole team. To me thats useless

I'd probably leave Caith Sith and Red XIII on the airship, those are the characters I don't use at all. I guess it feels a little strange to fight along side them not that hate them or anything.

Final Fantasy VII: Yuffie. She ticked me off so much when I first tried getting her that I never used her once I had her.
Final Fantasy VII: Vincent. By the time I got him I had my set team, and wasn't ready to put in the effort to level him up.

barring that...not a real big Eiko fan..I just found her annoying as heck.

Umaru from FF6. My god that dude was awful. Definitely the worst in my opinion.

Prince Edward from FF4. He's a bard, wtf is he supposed to do for the team exactly, besides taking up space and time to play his silly tunes. I found absolutely no use for him, or the bard class in general.

Everyone agrees that Edward's pretty useless. Umaro's pointless to use also cuz you cant control him. If you ask me, most of the other characters in the games ive played haven't been too useless, but there's a couple I don't like to use- Red XIII from FFVII (i dunno why), Strago from FFVI (never felt like learning all his lore), Hope from FFXIII (hes not so bad to fight with, but sucks as an overall character) and Palom and Porom from FFIV (they just never seemed very strong to me).

I would say, my top 5 most useless characters would have to be:

5. Red XIII (ff7, didn't really use him)
4. Edward (ff4 he coulda laid in bed all game and I wouldn't of cared)
3. Quina (ff9, didn't use him at all, only fun bit was eating frogs)
2. Hope (ff13, sucked to be fair, didn't have a very good weapon and was huge emo)
1. Selphie (ff8, never used her and didn't like her limit that much, or her general play)

i never used pan on FF3 or (FFVI Advance)
never used yuffie much on FFVII
and i didn't use Penelo on FFXII
but the female characters always suffered from poor stats or useless abilities
i won't even bring up the Crystal series XD
