Dark Souls does that a lot to me, but the most recent examples of it were Cursed Castilla and the original Ninja Gaiden. Cursed Castilla tries to be like Ghosts n' Goblins, and while it's not quite as hard, it's still ridiculously hard, and it actually did make me rage quit the rest of the game once I finished it and was basically told "meeeeeeh, you didn't get all the hidden cryyyyystals, now play the entire game again and get them this time!" Ninja Gaiden came close to making me quit, but I toughed through it and actually finished Act 6...It helps that the bosses you kill actually stay dead, even if they don't restore your life before the boss fight.

Prepare to laugh! When I was around 12 or so years old I got heavily into the ratatouille movie game on ps2. I had a lot of fun with it for a while until I got to the final slide level. I actually ripped the covering off of one of the analog sticks. My mom thought one of the dogs got to the controller or something. Other than that though, I don't rage so much these days.

I tried out Dark Castle on a Genesis emulator once - for about five minutes. Not merely because it's hard, but also because your character can't take two steps without getting dizzy, tripping over his own two feet, or both. Yeah, talk about taking game difficulty to an unfair level.

It's going to sound lame but Minecraft parkour.

It's dumb because I know I can make the jump if I jump at the right moment, yet I always manage to screw it all up and get sent back to a checkpoint. Maybe it's because the game looks so simple that it gets more frustrating failing at it.

I've raged and chucked a controller at the wall for Call of Duty: Ghosts before, trying to beat the story on the hardest difficulty.

Every time I play NHL 19 I feel like rage quitting because of how terrible the game is overall, so probably that.

I also rage quit after spending hours trying (and failing) to find a shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Let's Go Eevee earlier today.

Bloodborne was the last game that I truly felt like rage quitting at. In fact, I actually did! I never finished it, and sold it. I'll never play that game or the Dark Souls series for that matter ever again!

I'd probably have to say Sonic Advanced. Well, I haven't rage quit from it often. But I got stuck on this underwater boss that drove my blood pressure through the roof. I don't think I've ever been that angry at a game before. I wanted to break the screen.

I used to play Overwatch. No, that's not the game I'm discussing now, truth be told I can get mad with a lot of games due to either the situation at hand or my own incompetency, (or because I'm fighting Ness for the third time in a row) but usually I enjoy the game to an extent that I keep coming back. That being said, I haven't played Overwatch in a long time, because my old laptop was replaced by an old pizza box retrofitted with a cpu, crappy intel, and plastic. I did find an alternative... that Paladins game is free right?

I would have never even bothered trying to download a game like that on my laptop, but then they released the Switch edition, and I did indeed have a Switch to run it. Nowadays, it's a fine game, if you don't mind the console experience of an FPS. When it came out though, sweet tater tots from Hell's Kitchen IT WAS TERRIBLE. The game had features that weren't functional, various features and the UI were bugged, certain characters were bugged, and to top it all off, I initially wanted to be Mr. Homebody and main tanks frontliners and supports. Honestly I had a worse time with the frontliners, many of the supports are engaging and competent, unlike when Overwatch had half of their healers engaging in something I can only call survival horror. There was a crazy amount of other issues, from the game crashing in the middle of a match, to defaulting to auto-purchase mode at random times, to diet Sion losing the ability to do anything other than walk until he dies.

That was no life for someone to live, so I uninstalled the game and didn't come back for a long time. I even made a Steam post (since my Nintendo account doesn't let me access their own site) and made an awareness post on all the things that were going wrong, there's probably plenty of stuff I forgot by now or stuff I never encountered, like hero specific bugs. I got two replies, both referring to a last second quip about the new hero being OP. Yes, the past three paragraphs hold no merit to an obvious jest I made you uncivil swines. That's like if I ended this post with "send nudes" and everyone here addressed that.
Don't actually send nudes I swear to god...
Now the game is actually 90% functional. The devs themselves even described their goals of an anti-bug crusade, and have seemingly delivered. I came back, played a flank character once, instantaneously realized what I was missing in life, and now here we are.
