There have been video games that have ended in massive cliffhangers that were supposed to be resolved in the next installment. The only problem is, they never came (or haven't come yet). Are there any games that you've played that you just wish would get another installment that would answer any unanswered questions?

For me, there's one game in particular that I wish would receive a direct sequel so that a 6 year long unresolved cliffhanger would end. That game is Golden Sun: Dark Dawn. The same way that The Lost Age was a direct sequel to the original Golden Sun, Dark Dawn was clearly meant to receive a direct sequel due to a cliffhanger that happened at the end of the game, resulting in a "The End...?" screen. That game came out in 2010, 8 years after The Lost Age came out. Is it possible that a Dark Dawn sequel could come out next year or in 2018? At this point, all I can do is hope...

Well, there was this game I played on my PlayStation 2 called "Haven: The call of the king". I was still near the beginning of elementary school when I played it so I don't exactly remember the whole story. (and I'm not gonna try mentioning any spoilers lol)

That game didn't receive much attention in the media so it kind of failed... Originally, it was supposed to be the first part of some trilogy, but it just wasn't good enough so the 2nd part of the trilogy was never made.

The good thing about the game was that it had multiple different gameplay genres like 3d platforms, driving a boat, swimming, spaceship battles, flying on a jet pack, puzzles... etc. The music was also pretty good. The real bad thing about it was that all the different gameplay experiences was average, seriously flawed, or boring. Games like Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter easily replaced this game.

The ending was such a huge disappointment after a long adventure. Then I realized that it was an unresolved cliffhanger. This would have been such an amazing game if they made a sequel where they fixed it's serious flaws... Oh well. An unresolved cliffhanger for me for almost 12 years.

Only one that comes to mind for me is BLACK on the PlayStation 2. Centering around a black ops soldier who's being interrogated tried for war crimes, you play through the whole event in several flashbacks, being the levels. I thought it was a really good FPS and I think it was also supposed to be part of a trilogy. Sadly, Electronic Arts pulled the plug and basically said that there will never be a sequel.... If you haven't figured it out already, he doesn't go to prison at the end of the game.

I feel parasite eve at the end of the game the cutscene. They never explained in the second game as in what happened and why it happened. Which left me very baffled and annoyed. :/

The first that springs to mind is Streets of Rage 3 on the Genesis. While it isn't exactly a cliffhanger, it does let you know more will be revealed in the next game...unfortunately (so many "sadlys" and "unfortunatelys" this thread is getting depressing lol jk) SEGA and whoever developed it had some disagreements and so Streets of Rage 4 never happened. Instead we got Fighting Force which was a decent enough game, but still left the story unresolved. Not too big of a deal though since it would doubtless have been that the bad guy escaped and tried to take over the city again or whatever.

Next would be The Haunting: Starring Polterguy on the Genesis. Another "The End?" that was never followed up. Too bad because it was a really good game. I guess it was too bizarre to catch on, even during the 16 bit age when most games were bizarre. Lol

That's all I can think of for now. Nice thread by the way.
