I'd like to add to this thread by sharing my basic strategy for fighting raid bosses. This was a strategy I had the privilege to be a part of with the guild of a friend of mine.

Also, please note that the original guy explaining this is a warlock.

"Alright guys, there's a guy over there that we have to kill. Now, I have you set up into four different groups.
Tanks. I want you to go up there, and TAKE IT IN THE FACE! Take it like you love it. Oh, and say mean things to it so you keep it's attention.
Melee. Go up there, target the boss, and use your abilities. But for the love of god stay away from the tanks!!
Ranged. Target the boss and use your abilities. And don't die.
Healers. Target your friends, and use your abilities.

Alright let's go." *promptly goes to pull the boss with his warlock-like abilities*
