So I've finally began using the Photoshop Elements 8.0 that I've downloaded to my computer ages ago (mainly never used because I never learned Photoshop), and after finally opening it alongside Audacity, I've learned how to design my own YGOpro themes. And I have a ton of fun doing it!

For comparison, YGOpro usually looks like THIS THEME. Duels in YGOpro usually look like THIS THEME.

Through fancy Photoshop nonsense, along with downloading icons, bgm, sfx, etc., I've been able to transform every ounce of that into my own thing. Currently, I'm focusing on video games. Maybe I'll branch out into Anime like Naruto (even though I've grown out of the anime I still have an idea for the theme).

Before I gloat too much, THIS THEME is a Mega Man Starforce theme I've completed. Duels look like THIS THEME. The sounds you'd hear are all from the original games, minus volume being either amplified or quieted. Just to show you a glimpse of what I'm referring to.

I also have a Legend of Zelda theme done (those pictures: MENU, DUEL START, and MID-DUEL if you're interested). Currently working on a Pokemon theme and a Super Mario theme that I want to finish over the weekend. EDIT: Super Mario theme is done. Pokemon hit a snag and will do that later. A Fallout theme is planned as well (even though I hate Fallout, but I like the ideas I'm having for it's YGOpro theme). I also have 3 other Megaman themes in the works (Classic, X, and Battle Network). EDIT: Classic and X have been combined into one theme, posted later in this thread.

When I make these themes, I don't do anything half-a**. The skin, textures, and sound folders (basically everything you see and hear in YGOpro) have all been fully customized by me, or fully organized by me using external resources (e.g. wallpaper from deviantArt cuz it's awesome). Rarely is any file in it's original state, because I hate how many people just change the bg and cover and call it a theme. I've fully organized or Photoshop-designed basically every single file in the themes. I hate doing a theme less than it's potential.

This is only one of the reasons I love YGOpro, being able to customize it like this. Also there are FAR less idiots, and ZERO rule-shark egotists ("I can too activate Kozmotown's pull effect after it was negated with Dark Bribe! You salty, bro?") because YGOpro forces the rules to be upheld. I hate Dueling Network's community (try waiting 30 minutes for an Admin to tell you you're right IN TWO DIFFERENT DUELS because someone thought their misplay was correct). Sigh... Ok, mini-rant over.

UPDATE: If anyone is interested, I might be selling the YGOpro themes I create, along with instructions on how to "install" it (It's literally copy/pasting). However, I've never shared .zip or .rar files before so I'd like some advice on good, non-virussed sites that are free for this kinda thing.

Those are well done. I'm assuming you code these themes in yourself? Or is it a little more streamlined of a process than that?

Mynamescox44 : Well, it's a bit more streamlined, but coding is a small part of it. The process, in detail, is listed below.

BTW I edited the original post with the pictures of my Legend of Zelda theme. Which is admittedly cooler than the Star Force theme.

This is the process, if anyone's interested:
There's three folders inside YGOpro's download folder that have to be edited to make a theme, called: skin, sound, and textures. Inside the skin folder is a skin.txt document that dictates the text colors, menu transparencies, etc. which you just have to alter to fit what you want. There is also a bunch of PNG files with the menu textures, colors, etc. Simply make new PNG files with the same dimensions and name, then replace them. YGOpro won't know the difference.

The 'sound' and 'textures' folders are the easiest. The textures folder has the .jpg files like the card sleeve, the pictures you see on the menu and duel background, and the rock-paper-scissors cards. Also .png files such as the life point meters and the duel field. The sound folder literally has only .mp3 and .wav files, so simply replace those with the .mp3 BGM and .wav SFX you want, and BOOM. New theme.

Most people just change out the card back, and the two background images from the menu and duel and they call it a 'NEW THEME!!!' except it's not a true theme... Not unless all three folders are replaced.

Finished the Super Mario Bros theme a bit over a week ago. Pictures here:

MENU

DUEL START

MID-DUEL

Currently working on Fallout theme, but hit a dead end (because I've never played Fallout ever). Got enough resources though, so I'm gonna keep at it. And whatever I don't have a game reference or icon for, I'll just make myself.

Like the Pendulum icons, red and blue diamonds. I have no idea of a fitting Fallout equivalent.
