Hello wonderful people of vizzed, I am gamerforlifeforever2 (or gamer for short), and I'm here today to ask for your votes in the upcoming mod election. For those of you who don't know much about me, I've been one of the most productive members of this site for the last year and a half, catapulting my way into the top 10 all time in total CP, making over 5,000 posts, and I'm getting close to making 200 threads.

In my time here on vizzed, I take pride in making sure I'm doing everything in my power to make vizzed a better place, whether it's making high quality reviews, or more recently making sure that new Nintendo releases are getting the game pages they need. I was named the 2nd most active member on vizzed in 2015, and even took time out of my off day from my job to make sure the results for the user awards were counted, so that David would be able to post the results.

Also, for those of you who may be wondering if I'm capable of taking on the local mod role, I have a rented forum called The Sonic and Final Fantasy Forum, which I keep up to date with every day, making sure that users are following the rules I set for the forum. When taking everything into consideration, I hope that you, the people will see that my work ethic and dedication to the site make me the most worthy candidate for the local mod position.

If you have any questions for me, feel free to ask, as long as it doesn't have to do with my real life job, because I'd like to keep that stuff private.

Glad to see you trying out for the job!  What specifically about your time as mod for The Sonic and Final Fantasy Forum do you feel has shaped you into a mod prepared for a job here?  Are there any moments where you had to deal with controversy or backlash with a firm but kind response?  Will you try to treat all users fairly, including the ones that don't meet your expectations?  Anyhoo, thanks for sharing your time with us!

supernerd117 : Thanks. The Sonic and Final Fantasy Forum has helped me learn how the moderating options such as stickying a thread, closing a thread, and trashing a thread work. It's also given me a better understanding of how to moderate a forum while at the same time following the rules on the site.

I haven't had to deal with controversy or backlash, but there was one time that Eniitan, the user I hired as an extra mod for the forum accidentally made a duplicate thread, I trashed the dupe, and I calmly explained why I trashed the thread, and showed her that it was a dupe. She understood, and everything was good after that.

I promise to treat all users fairly, and when I make a promise, I keep it. You and everyone else on the site have my word that I would never treat other users poorly.

gamerforlifeforever2 : What makes you think you're so deserving of it, more deserving than everyone else? Is it because of all you've contributed to the site? I've contributed quite a lot, and I wouldn't dare suggest I haven't gotten what I deserve. I didn't make it on the ballot, and I didn't get my staff position back, regardless of all the work I have done.

Assuming you have any threads such as "Sonic Hangman" "Final Fantasy Elimination", would you close those during TdV time to remove the possibility of spam or abuse in those threads?

What forums are you consider moderating, assuming you get elected?

yoshirulez! : I feel like I deserve it more than the other candidates because I've been one of the biggest contributors on the site for the past year, and unlike some of the other candidates, I haven't been given the chance to show what I'm capable of as a local. Even on non TDV months such as this one, I'm still doing many different types of CP actions, which gives me well over 1k CP per month. In fact, I lead all users for the month of February in CP with only a day and a few hours left til March begins. I'm also making more posts each month than all of the current locals, and one of the globals. So to answer your question, my work ethic is what separates me from everyone else.

I'm not going to going to target any of the candidates personally as to why I feel like I'd be a better mod than them.

I do have a Sonic elimination thread, and during the last TDV, I made sure to close it a few hours before the TDV even began. That's what I'm going to do each time the TDV rolls around.

I could fill the moderating duties for the forums A user of this was in charge of before he got his promotion, so that they don't need to switch everyone's moderating duties again. I could moderate any of the forums they wished for me to though. I'm pretty flexible.

I don't have a whole lot to ask you.

I know who you are, and I know your capabilities.

That said, what makes you think modding a rented forum is the same as modding a legit forum? Having done both extensively, I'd argue they are very very different.

What do you believe the moderator's role is, on site?

What do you wish to change?

How much time do you spend on the site daily?

Local mod can be rather time consuming. Do you believe you could keep up as a reviewer and Nintendo manager if you took the position?

SPEED LEGGY : I wouldn't say that they are the same thing necessarily, but I feel that modding a rented forum gives me a better idea of how modding a legit forum works than when I didn't have my rented forum.

I believe a moderator's role on the site is to make sure that the vizzed users are following the rules of each forum they mod. When they're not, such as making a spammy thread or plagarizing something, I'd be sure to take action and I'd explain to them why their thread got trashed and why it's not allowed on the site. Also, a moderator's role is to to help fellow vizzed members when they need help with something, such as wanting to have a better understanding of what the rules of the site are and how the site works.

Honestly, the one thing I wish I could change about the site would be to make it to where users who won the rainbow banner in the most recent TDV cannot win it in the next competition. Having the same user win the competition 2 times in a row would make future competitions less enjoyable, and honestly, it would make users who already don't like the TDV have an even bigger reason for hating it.

Vanelan : Yes, I would have more than enough time to fulfill my moderating duties, along with my Game Reviewer and Nintendo Manager roles. I'd have a few hours in the mornings, and around 5-7 hours in the evenings to fulfill all of my mod and staff duties. (that is if I get the mod spot)

Vanelan : As far as game reviews go, I usually take care most of the reviews for the month on days I'm off from work. On those days, I usually take about 4 to 5 out of my day to work on them, so that I'll still have the rest of the day to do other stuff. Sometimes, I'll take a couple of hours out of my free time on days that I work to get a category or two completed. I would still have plenty of time each day to fulfill my moderating duties, that is if I were to get the spot.

As far as my Nintendo Manager role goes, I usually work on getting one or 2 of them done at a time, taking a few minutes for each to add the game pages and add all the information, as well as adding the boxart, and other graphics if I can find them. I'm usually able to add all the game pages and game info per week in one day, but not all at once. I'd still have plenty of time in between to fulfill moderating duties.

Why do you view the TDV as the biggest issue, specifically the rainbow banner, something that I have not really heard much debate about?

Are you concerned other candidates are talking about making a marked change to the view of the moderators in general?

What do you propose to give to the person affected most by such a change? After all, if I win the Summer TDV, I have no incentive to participate in the Autumn TDV if I can't win again. That will potentially drop their activity dramatically, and only hurt the site.

Why do you view the TDV as the biggest issue, specifically the rainbow banner, something that I have not really heard much debate about?

I feel like the rainbow banner is the biggest issue because if you look at the past few winners in TDV competitions, it's possible that one of them could start dominating the rainbow banner each competition. If that happens, then I'm concerned that other competitors might give up on the competition, thus seriously hurting the overall activity level of the site during those months.

Are you concerned other candidates are talking about making a marked change to the view of the moderators in general?

No

The person that would be affected by that change could just go for one of the overall jerseys for that month. There's no reason for a user to try to win 2 TDV's in a row. They should give someone else a chance.

If you win the election, would you ever consider getting a 3rd staff job?

I wish you luck in the election.

NintendoTails : Thanks for the question.

If I won the election, I would consider getting a 3rd staff role, but I'd have to get used to being a mod first. Once I get used to that, I would probably try to get another role on staff, because I'm willing to do anything to help David and the site.
NintendoTails : Thanks for the question.

Round 1 of the election is over. Since you did not make it to the 2nd round I am closing this thread.
