Since Dragon Ball Super is about to enter the universe 6 stuff I thought now would be the perfect time to here what people think so far.I think that Dragon Ball Super's decision to redo Battle Of Gods and Revival Of F in the end worked out ok. I mean there were tons of problems with them but I'll go over those later. First I'm going to start with what they did right in my opinion.


Battle Of Gods arc pros
-Good Fights
-Epic SSJG transformation scene
-longer fights
-great music most of the time



Revival Of F arc pros
-they explain a few things better
-Trunks and Goten show up
-Ginyu is funny
-Frieza feels more like a threat for a while
-more Goku and Vegeta training showed


Battle Of Gods arc cons
-They gave the pilaf gang there own episode it was so boring
-The moment Gohan found out they were having a kid was done way better in the movie
-Episode 5's animation is terrible (they fixed it some in DVD release)
-They took out the moment where Goku breaks out of the ground which was epic in the movie

Revival Of F arc cons
-The fighting for the most part was just random punches and kicks
The animation was not that great
-Rushed
-side characters brought in and out for no good reason
-boring to watch


Well that's my opinion on it so far how does everybody else feel about it?

I really would have preferred if they didn't redo the movie parts personally, if only because basically any Dragon Ball fan that still cared already watched the movies first anyways so why retell it?I found it highly amusing they brought Roshi out and had him fight again though, and a little sad Gohan got hit by the nerf bat again but I should have expected it.

Sonicolmstead : I have not seem any episodes to Dragon ball super but I have seen the movies and thought they were pretty decent overall. But DBS is the English dub versions out yet? It seems like they are taking awhile but I could be wrong I haven't checked in weeks

Shadowcress : There was only a few parts of retelling the movies that made me glad but I can agree everyone watched those movies already why do them again?

pharroh : They are taking there sweet time dubbing it not sure why If I remember right funimation said it was something with toei. They want to dub it but toei won't let them yet then again that was back in October you would think by now they could.

Sonicolmstead : Yea true that. I would think they would have a dub version soon but look at how long it took for DBZ to be dubed in english.

I love it so far, but I've seen it all through their most recent movies.  I cant wait for an English dubbed version though.  I just don't really like the Japanese voices as much as I like the English versions. 

Spoilers: Don't read if you haven't gotten to the Battle of the Gods Tournament in Super yet. I think it's doing pretty well except for the fact that they gave us one Frost Demon that was supposed to be good but it turns out he's evil. We don't need another Frieza, I know he looks like Frieza but he shouldn't have to act like Frieza. That was a major disappointment for me, the fact that we can't have one good Frost Demon, all of them have to be evil and cold hearted. When Frost showed up and welcomed the people of Universe 7 with open arms, I thought "They have some good opportunities to make this character great, they better not screw it up" and before my very eyes, they screwed it up. I watched every week and I was hoping they wouldn't screw it up and they did. I was really sad to see them screw it up because Frost had some real potential as a hero but then it's revealed that he's no better than Frieza!?! That just got on my nerves, not enough to stop watching Dragon Ball Super but it did get on my nerves.

I'll I've an honest answer, I was pleasantly surprised. The show has so much more than I thought they would include so that has been awesome.

Spoilers!  I haven't posted in here in a while but I have loving the universe 6 vs universe 7 tournament I'm sad that it most likely is going to end Sunday it has been great to see a tournament in Dragon Ball again I mean there were 2 in the buu saga but goku left both of them. I loved how we were all fooled by Frost thinking he was a good guy it was a nice twist In my personal opinion. I was shocked he beat goku at first till we found out he was cheating then I thought Piccolo was going to get a victory but no which kinda made me mad to be honest I just wanted to see him get a victory at least once in Super. Then of course Vegeta stepped in and 1 shoted frost which was kinda made me happy and mad at the same time I was hoping Vegeta was going to make Frost suffer kinda like he did to Freiza before goku stole the kill so I was sad that did not happen. Then it was Vegeta vs Magetta and this was a great reason to see the final flash used again. Vegeta vs cabba was the fight I was hoping for the most and it reminded me of the goku vs uub fight at the end of z how goku was training uub in the fight which was something I would of never seen coming from vegeta but cool at the same time. It was cool to see how vegeta and cabba seemed even in there SSJ forms But then Vegeta went SSJGSS and 1 shot him which once again was kinda sad I would of loved a couple episode fight with them both being even but oh well. Then hit stepped up to fight Vegeta and I was hoping Vegeta would lose at this point because as awesome as it was to see Vegeta win so many times in a row I did not want to see him win 4 times in a row. I was happy to see Vegeta get crushed by hit pretty fast but I find it weird how fast the tournament as been moving along I mean if this was Dragon Ball Z each fight would of taken 2 episodes at least! I Don't know if this is a good or bad thing. But thats really all I feel like saying about the tournament right now.

Sonicolmstead : I feel like the tournament has gone too fast as well. Many of the fights took 1 episode or less to conclude. That's just garbage to me. Cell vs Goku was like 4 or 5 episodes I think and Gohan vs Cell was about 10-12. I don't see why 2 episodes per fight would be too much.

I'm hoping the last fight between Hit and Goku lasts a bit longer. The fact that Vegeta lost as quickly as he did was annoying.

geeogree :   Yeah it's so weird a Dragon Ball fight being over so fast then again the whole Dragon Ball Super series as been going on really fast paced since the start I mean the battle of gods arc wasn't as fast but everything has been going faster than you would expect for Dragon Ball.

Sonicolmstead : honestly, I think it is faster paced because people expect things to be faster paced. Imagine the Frieza fight happening today. People would be bored of it after 3 or 4 episodes but we look back on it as one of the best anime fights ever. I can't see it being looked upon that favorably if it was made today. That's just me though. I find lots of anime and manga being made right now is faster paced than stuff from the 80's like Dragonball

Its ok but I skipped some episodes and....went to the trunks arc. Since some serious stuff is happening there and all. And I am glad I skipped ones I didn't want to watch. I now wonder what will happen in this arc and what we will find out from this, because I am like really really excited. I know before I said I wouldn't watch it. But something like this? nah...its something you have to watch. XD

I'm trying to hold off on watching Super until the dub comes out because I can't stand that they never changed Goku's voice from his original Female voice actor. He's such a masculine character, and it's just weird hearing his random screams being so high pitched.
However it's becoming increasingly hard to avoid spoilers so I'm probably going to bite the bullet soon.

The last episode I watched of Dragon Ball Super was the Goku vs Goku Black fight. Personally, in general I think that the animation is much more choppy, and not nearly as well-defined. They have good reasoning for this, as they're trying to put out an episode a week, but that doesn't change the fact that it's an issue. While the artwork wasn't exactly great until Namek in DBZ, I would like to see the hand-drawn animations as opposed to computer generated ones.

Otherwise, I don't really understand the introduction of Pilaf's gang back into the show. There's no real point to it besides Mai x Trunks, which was also shown in the future, which gives it some meaning I suppose. I also didn't like the whole thing with Superhuman Water. I would much rather have seen Vegeta and Goku just pick some random planet and duke it out to see who's stronger, honestly. My favorite fight in the whole series, even now, is SSJ2 Goku vs Majin Vegeta. It was short enough that I wasn't basically watching a movie, and pretty much the whole thing was high-octane, intense combat, and I would love to see that again as opposed to this Superhuman Water thing.

Finally, I still don't like Akira Toriyama saying that Vegeta will have "his moment" in Battle of Gods 2, where he almost did, and then Goku still killed Frieza. That just rubbed me the wrong way, you know? And then they didn't change it in Dragonball Super.

My last two grievances are that A: They made Goku into an absolute idiot. Now I get that outside of combat Goku isn't very smart, but we're literally talking they turned him into DBZ Abridged Goku (hilarious in that, not so much here), no, even worse than that. And finally, the fight scenes just don't seem as climactic. For example, the Beerus fight was ridiculously drawn out and it seemed like the whole thing was just Goku powering up even further, which I didn't really like. I understand that Goku was simply mastering the Super Saiyan God form, but it got really old, really quick. 

I do give it a few perks over before though. For one, I like that their families are being incorporated more, which gives the show alot more depth as opposed to dragon ball z, even if they aren't shown often, it's something, and something is better than nothing. I also liked them bringing back the tournament thing with Universe Six. The arena matches were always my favorite, in fact I was actually disappointed when Cell destroyed the Cell Games Arena, especially since now I know that Goku intended to defeat him by knocking him out of the ring and then letting Gohan fight him afterwards, since we all know that Cell wouldn't have just surrendered. We saw what he did when he was defeated, after all. I also liked seeing Future Trunks again, he's always been cool.

I think Dragon Ball Super is finally starting to get good. It seemed kind of repetitive at first because it was just tournament after tournament and it didn't really feel like there was much substance to the show and it just didn't feel like Dragon Ball (the Hit fight was really good though).

But I have high hopes with this new arc featuring Black Goku. I think they can finally turn the series around and make it good.

Minuano That's the main reason I started watching it just for that arc only. I am sure a lot of people still want to know what is going on and who is black goku. I don't want to assume anything since I still don't have enough facts about him. So we'll have to see what happens next and how the story of the arc plays out to be like. XD
