Do you like a good shooting game? If you do, then this game is just for you. I just started playing this game a couple weeks ago and though it was really confusing at the beginning I began to like it after a while and I had some fun. It's some sort of a futuristic Space shooter that sends you out on all sorts of adventures and it's a blast.


GRAPHICS 8/10

The graphics are pretty cool, when playing the game it kind of gives off the feeling that you are playing both a futuristic game as well as a retro game at the same time. For the most part, the game has some simple, sleek designs and the colors make the mood of the game stand out. I personally love how some of the things work such as the lasers and bullets because they fire all sorts of cool particle effects. Like I mentioned earlier, it's simple but it works well, and for that the grade for graphics is going to be an 8 out of 10.

SOUND 10/10

I just love the sound of the game. No matter how bad a game is, a good soundtrack always makes everything worth it and it even makes a good game even better. I love the music, for me, its the genre that I like and most of the tracks are electric and fun to listen to. For the most part, this is the kind of music that I would listen to outside of the game, when I'm not playing. The music isn't the only thing about the sound aspect and the rest can be just as good. You have great voice acting, there's almost always a different character talking to you with their own unique voice and it adds a great deal of originality to the game and makes it more fun to playa and listen to. However the fun doesn't stop there because the game itself has a bunch of other sounds which add so much and all these different parts make the game so fun to listen to and my grade for sound is going to be a perfect 10 out of 10.

ADDICTIVESS 8/10

The game can be addicting but not too addicting. I'm going to be the first to say that its not the kind of game where you can play it for many hours straight. It is the kind of game that you can play in short bursts over and over and never stop having fun. It's the kind of game that lets you explore a little bit in addition to what you're supposed to be doing and lets you shoot down random enemies that try to get in your way while giving you a list of tasks you need to complete in order to move on. Just the shooting aspect of the game along can be a lot of fun and all the other things that are going on are just extra. Overall, the game can be quite addicting and for a grade, this aspect is going to get an 8 out of 10.

STORY 6/10

I still don't understand too much about the story but there isn't really that much if you think about it because most of the game is just about entering other alien ships and pretty much taking them over by disabling various systems within this. Why are you doing this? You're just doing this to earn a currency that can be used to upgrade your own ship and things such as weapons. That's really all there is to it, though the process of disabling the ships does offer a few cool goals and some sort of a small story. Overall, this aspect is going to get a 6 out of 10.

DEPTH 8/10

The game does offer a decent amount of depth and things for you to do. First off, lets look at one alien ship. Any given ship is pretty large and gives you a decent amount of stuff to explore. In addition to all of the things that you need to find and disable, there's other things for you to do and different compartments of the ships to explore to find things such as ammo and health. You have a good amount of ships to go through and beyond the ships to explore, you also have your own ship to work with, and all the upgrades you can do to it. The depth of the game is fairly decent and for a grade, gets an 8 out of 10.

DIFFICULTY 6

I will have to say that the game, at times, can be quite difficult and will take some time to get used to and maybe even some trial and error. One thing that I don't truly like about the game is the sensitivity of the controls. At some points you can find yourself going to fast and be a bit hard to control when you're going that fast and at times you can also see that your character turns a lot harder than you intended for them to turn. On top of that, some of the enemies and machines and even some puzzles can be a bit tough to overcome, so overall, it can be just a bit difficult and for a grade, this aspect gets a 6.

OVERALL 8/10

Overall, the game is quite fun, especially for a shooter because it offers a good variety of things to do from enemies to various puzzles like pressing the directional buttons in a certain way. I don't fully like shooter games in general, there's just a handful of them that I do like and this is pretty much one of them so if you are a fan of the genre, then I suggest that you give this one a chance. The game was good, great graphics and music, and for an overall grade, I think this game deserves an even 8 out of 10.

Nice review! I must say, though, I have never heard of CRYPTARK before. You certainly made it sound interesting. I have some leftover money on Steam, I just may have to get this.

Petraplexity : I didn't even hear about the game either until last month when I contacted the developers to review it. It's a lot of fun though, so I don't know why I hadn't heard about it before then.
