As a fan, I've been following the development of the project since it's Kickstarter Campaign went live. The game is finally going to be released on Steam, on November 23.

The ones responsible for the project are none other than Sekai Project, known for bringing many Visual Novel releases for the western audience, such as Grisaia no Kajutsu and planetarian (which is also made by Key). They began a kickstarter campaign on November of last year in order to bring an official western release of CLANNAD with the quality that it deserved. Needless to say, the project was a huge success and it easily reached the requirements as well as the stretch goals.

Key has been following the development of the project as well and seemed happy with it, which is reassuring to hear considering it's the opinion of the creators. The game has been completely optimized, with the translation and engine being made from scratch and also some new features like the Dangopedia. It has also been updated to HD, with all it's visuals being rendered at 1280x960 (which for Visual Novels is quite big, or way above average at the very least).

Anyways, the game has been added on Steam. I'm looking forward to playing it since like many others I only watched the anime. Thought I'd share it here in case there are other fans who might not know about it yet.

mvhupsel : I love you, thank you so much for this thread I can't wait any longer for this as I loved Clannad as you can tell I made two layouts from the anime, and it's about time they released on Steam or something so we could all play it. Welp time to save up

Uh...Maybe I shouldn't write advertisements for this. The dangopedia looks neat for new people though. It's something I would have loved to have had when I got sucked into the whirlpool of Japanese entertainment. Anyway, I am really glad this exists. Clannad is just amazing! And it's not often that someone ACTUALLY comes through with a video game funded by Kickstarter.

I don't know why I do this to myself. It's like I enjoy making myself cry.

I'm really excited to play but I feel like it's a tad expensive. I've already played the unoffical english version but I'm still excited to play the official one.

I went in trying to get one of the bad endings the second time around and I ended up getting the gay for Sunohara ending.

10/10 would go gay again.
