fearlessjazp567 : I thought Super Mario World was super hard at first too. I played at my cousins' house, and they barely made it past The Vanilla Ghost House and got stuck and Castle #3. I had it easier when I got a SNES about 3 years after them (I had a Genesis).

I disliked Donkey Kong as a child. I watched my sister play it on my computer and I wasn't interested in it. However, years later I began to like it, and it's one of the games that made me start loving the Mario series

Now I don't play Donkey Kong often but I still like it.

Pole Position 2.  That's right, the sequel to the original "Prepare to Qualify" classic.

See, I only had exposure to the Atari 7800 version as a kid, and the 7800 version was not all that great.  I didn't understand the controls too good -- of course I probably wasn't even 10 years old -- but even then the Test track was way too easy and the others just too hard.

Later I discovered the arcade version on a Namco Museum disc for the Nintendo Gamecube, and only then I really appreciate the magic that Pole Position provided when it was first released.

I still play an occasional game of Pole Position and Pole Position 2 on that Gamecube Namco Museum disc that I still have, but not like I used to anymore.

PacmanandMariofan : The game is good, but I do not understand the hype over it (notwithstanding the graphics). It is just a regular platform game, even more difficult than Mario since you die at the slightest contact with enemies

This is tough, because most of the games I played when I was younger, I tend to like right on the spot. There's one, but I still don't like it to this day.

Um, oh! I just remembered a game that fits the description! It's called Spyro: Season of Ice.

I hated this game whenever I played it. The camera angle was weird, and the depth of it as well. The game was long for me, so I dropped it and played other games. Fast forward many years later, I came back to it and it was fun! I still have to beat it though, so.

Usually it's the exact opposite, where I go back to a game I remember loving and just end up sitting back and going 'Why did I like this again?'
But I think one game I'm glad I gave a second chance was Super Paper Mario (This is kind of stretching the child part but... bear with me.)
Basically I was still a huge fan of the Mario RPGs. So when SPM came along I got so hyped for another RPG sequel. I ended up so disappointed that I didn't have the heart to finish chapter 2 (It was also a semi rage quit, since I couldn't get past a really simple part).
Then, just this year I picked the game up again (Because 20$ isn't that bad of a deal) and despite it not being an RPG or even a very solid platformer, I just kind of found myself liking it more and more. Still not my favourite Paper Mario or anything, but I don't quite hate it so much now.

I disliked quite a few video games as a child with ooze being one of them. I was never really able to bring myself to like it in even the slightest.

As a kid I played The Lost Vikings, but I guess I was a little too much of a dummy to realize I had to get all 3 vikings to the goal, and never made it past the first level and hatet this game for that. But a little while ago I played it here on Vizzed and realized that it is actually a quite good and fun game.

Star Wars Jedi Power Battles for PS1. Played it. Put it away. A few years later I played it again and had fun with it.
