Hello there! I plan to keep this review short and sweet. Pokemon Adventure Green is quite fun. I"ve played some of the other adventure games by Aethestode and have enjoyed them greatly. This one follows Green, a young girl from pallet town, who is kidnapped and forced to do evil things. Her captor is none other than "the masked man", who has abducted various other children as well. After a few years, Green is able to escape with the help of a close friend, and they are on the run together. This is the story of Green.
Graphics: The game's graphics are similar to fire red. There are still minor flaws like bushes appearing unnatural when green walks under them.
Sound: Typical Fire-red/Leaf-green music.
Addictiveness: I like how this game allows you to start with a fairy type. This game contains some good humor and lovable characters from some of aethestode's previous games such as the drunken perverted old man and the YOU WILL PAY woman. It also has some nice custom content that keeps you interested and wanting to see more. Would I play the next beta when it comes out? Absolutely.
Story: The story is wonderful. It's completely custom and there is a lot of it. It keeps the game flowing and prevents you from getting bored. The only problem I have with it is that it's very easy to glitch the game. For example, I might accidentally skip some important text that tells you to talk to bill. Well, the game allows me to go straight past Bill into the next area and talk to a random guy, who ends up freezing my game, because I was supposed to talk to Bill before I got there. But for what it's worth, the story is excellent.
Depth: As it currently stands, I believe the beta only goes up to the end of lavender town. I have tried to do things, but I'm 99.9% sure the hack ends here. I've tried talking to Mr Fuji, but it only freezes the game.
Difficulty: This game is for the most part easy. It's somewhat difficult in the beginning since a lot of trainers have poison pokemon which can destroy your fairy type, but a little side training fixes that. I'd also say there's a bit of a level jump in the enemy trainer's pokemon. They tend to escalate a lot faster than they should, but that eventually evens out around Cerulean City. I've also noticed that pokemon lurking in the grass AFTER Vermillion City are too strong. I've encountered level 22-27 pidgey and venonat as well as level 30 glooms. The trainers in that area have pokemon of level 15-20. This is a little out of whack.
This game is an excellent customary representation of Green journey and her encounters with Red and Blue. You can tell Aethestode put a lot of work into it and he did a fantastic job. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who has played other games in his "Pokemon Adventures" series and enjoyed it.
