I'm an agnostic. I grew up in Catholic schools, so I was raised "under the bible". Right around when I was 16 I started asking questions as to why things in the bible were as they were. And the more "God will give you the answer" answers that I got, I just lost faith completely. I would like to believe that something is up there because of how beautiful earth is. The bible to me makes no sense, if it were to help or convince you to have faith in their religion, why was it written by another human? Humans are notorious liars and over exaggerators so it's hard to believe ANYTHING that is said in the book (yes I have read it from front to end). The fact that we have to believe is the big reason why I don't, we're not as lucky as "Adam and Eve", who got to converse with god himself. or so the book says. I wouldn't say I'm an athiest because I do believe something existed, I just haven't bought in to any religion quite yet.
It's cool that people find purpose through their religion, and it gives them peace knowing that there friends, family, and even themselves will go to a better place one day. But at the same time, religion does nothing but cause problems. Look at the middle east for example, the terrorists in ISIS are trying to "destroy the infidels" because we don't believe in what they believe in. And we all know what religion has done in the past, especially the Romans.
