"A man chooses, a Slave obeys..." You will hear that during the game, but you will hear the words, "Would you kindly" more often. Be careful at those words. And, choose carefully, you could end up making the wrong choice. You can do all you want to, but each choice can affect the game, to make a possible of three outcomes. This decision based FPS game is just one of three decision based awesome games, and this one takes you to the amazing city called Rapture. This underground Utopia failure has become a nightmare for a place. It is under the control of Andrew Ryan. Just heed his advice... It could lead to disaster!

Graphics: Brilliant. It's amazing, the water appears on the screen, and you want to wipe off the drips, but they won't disappear! It's just so realistic, it's amazing! The gun even has smoke coming out after shooting it. This isn't your ordinary smoke either, it's realistic, and it interacts with the environment like you would expect smoke to do. That makes it one of the best graphics in FPS games ever. What's more, you have great character models. The big daddies are brilliantly designed mech things. That is something that few games ever get quite right. I just wish I could get you guys to understand that the graphics are amazing! Everything, the 1940-60 style design, the guns, the water, people, and fire! It's just done perfectly!
It's one amazing graphic FPS style game! 10/10!

Sound: The Phonographs are nice. What is that you ask? Do your history research, kids. It's what they used before the computer age! It's a clunky old Record player. But, they have captured the idea of it! The sound is like it would be if we walked into a 1950s bedroom! That is truly hard to achieve! But the sounds go beyond that, there is dialogue, which has been masterfully written and acted out. The voice actors took their roles seriously enough to make it authentic, but they still kept it interesting! The guns sound great too! You have a good sound for shotguns, Tommy Guns, and the revolver. That makes the game even better! The soundtrack was written good as well, although, I don't like it outside of the game. But, even the specials, like Pyro, Telekinesis, and Electricity have sounds. I personally like the Pyro ability! Each sound was done masterfully by 2k Games!
Although the games sound is near flawless. I don't like the soundtrack enough to give it a full score. 9/10.

Addictiveness: This game has you checking every crate, every person, and almost everything you can, just for the few extra dollars! It's hard to not want just one dollar more, or that last bullet you desperately need! That mixed with a fluid and fast paced combat, it's as addictive as it gets! That is saying a lot, because I play FPS games, just to play them. (Almost.) This one, gives a unique feel, as I have come to expect from games this studio makes! Their game is packed full of little details that makes it more exciting. Hacking? Shooting, or saving, you can do it all here!
Addictiveness is really high in this game! 9/10.

Story: The story is good. There are these girls running around with these creatures, mech things called Big Daddies. You have a choice, rescue them, or follow the guys form ATLAS's advice. It's your choice... But watch out, there are multiple endings all depending on what you do. Harvest them, or rescue them. You get rewards both ways, but they are different. One you get more points, or two you get less points, but a moral satisfaction, knowing you just helped a young girl return to her normal self. Your choice! Choose wisely though! But it also has an amazing plot twist thrown in! So, be ready for something you can't be ready for! (What???) The story is good, and although plot twists are sometimes overused, this one isn't like those old overused, and boring plot twists. It's more like the one from KOTOR. Which is one of the best plot twists EVER! This game pulls off it's plot twist with good taste, not making it too predictable, while making it so baffling, you don't know what to say!
This is no surprise, it gets a 9/10.

Gameplay/Controls: This is one thing I have mixed feelings about. While it does have a "Sight" using thing, I think. It's not where it should be. Most games use the RMSB (Right Mouse Button) to have you use the scope, this one has you switch between the weapons and enhancements. (Augmentations, or whatever you call them.) Which means you can't get into the normal FPS groove, and try to use the standard buttons. You have to be careful, which is something that is hard to control when you are a seasoned FPS player. (Which I am only, based on number of FPS games I've played.) But, then again, breaking the habit, of the controls isn't bad, and in-fact, it can be refreshing. The Shift button gives you the weapon selection screen (The menu style one, like what they have in Borderlands 2, or the pre-game weapon selection screens.) Which gives a good overview of all the available firepower! This is a nice feature, which I think should become a standard thing in FPS games! The game is smooth, but it seems to take a while during loading, so it really should be smooth, otherwise the game would be getting points deducted for long loading. I love the way they designed almost everything, just that one thing. RMSB...
If it weren't for that weird button change, it would have gotten a full score... I give it a 9.5/10.

Depth: This game has artificial depth... It's really a linear game, but it gives the feel of a more open-ended game. Which already lowers the rating... But it does have this going for it. You want to search everything, because you either need money to buy ammo, or you will need the ammo itself. Or, both. Hard enough? You also need to make sure you have enough EVE stock ready, because you need it to "power" your augmentation. That makes it essential to keep a sharp eye out for crates, and safes.  If you do that, your set. And that is about the only depth the BioShock offers. It's still an FPS game, but it has more than most do.
9/10. Not bad for an FPS game.

Difficulty: Okay, I don't die often here, but I play on easy the first time through. Except if I know that the game is easy. I think I could go through with Normal or Difficult... It seems easy, just get out the shotgun, and the Tommy gun, and you're set! Or, if you really want to try it, get headshots while using the Revolver, which can be challenging at times. This is without the Augs. You really have the upper hand at all times, if you don't let yourself be overrun with enemies. But, then there's the Big Daddies.... They are a little harder to take out. You have to shoot them, but they charge at you! And, then they do their damage... Good luck running away! That and the moral decisions... Harvest or Save. You have to remember that!
With the big daddies and the moral choices, it becomes a little harder, giving it a 9/10.

Overall: The game is fun to play. It's just fun to shoot the bag guys. But, it's more fun to search, and find that one overpowered Aug. Just keep on going! Oh, a girl I can save... Should I harvest her and help ATLAS? You have an exciting start, and a beautiful design! That is almost priceless! You can just destroy the entire dystopia that exists in the cursed city called Rapture! Just have fun with this 2k Masterpiece!
The game is solid! 9.5/10!

Wow, that's an excellent review. Just the introduction had me intrigued into reading the whole description. It almost sounded like a zombie apocalypse story.

The division is very neat and you gave very detailed examples of why such or such parameter was good or bad. Can't wait for your next review!

A nice review of one of my favorite games of all time! You kind of walked the line of spoilers by saying "would you kindly" so much but regardless, nice review.

taterii : I know that's the hard part... How do you not give a spoiler away while giving a good impression. You want them to see what you're talking about.

janus : I usually write one or two a month... And, I hope to get another one done soon! I've been playing lots of games this month, so hopefully I can get them done!

darthyoda : You can also review games you played in the past as I'm doing. The farther retrospection, I believe, gives you a better view of the game. There are still so many I've played I haven't reviewed yet but still vividly remember.
