I can't get any of the ROMs to work.. I keep getting this message about it being unavailable to reserve nullDC memory. 

Snicket : That could mean that either your hard drive is running out of space or you don't have enough free RAM. Either way, it sounds like an issue with your computer so maybe try restarting your computer to see if that helps or try it out on a different computer if you can.

I've changed the music length limitations in the rules. The songs can now be as short as 30 seconds and as long as 4 minutes. I've realized that the Dreamcast has longer songs than most of the systems in the previous competitions and that's mainly due to the fact that the Dreamcast GDs could hold around 1 GB. I'd hate for someone to have to cut their song down in order for it to fit within the competition's rules and lose some of the important parts of the song. In other words, I'd rather have a full length song rather than it be cut before it ends. The max length rule was originally added to prevent users from looping the song too many times but that doesn't seem to be much of an issue with Dreamcast games.

Now that Street Fighter III is in the Dreamcast library, I can easily pick this one as my top 7.

Foodperson : You made 2 posts with 7 submissions each. Which post am I counting? Whichever post doesn't count, please edit it and remove all of the submissions from that post to help avoid confusion.

I just realized that only around 38 submissions have been submitted total. I was expecting way more submissions, especially since the past music competitions have had anywhere between 80-120 submissions. There's still about a week left to submit songs to this submissions but based on previous submissions, very few songs ever get submitted in the last week.

So what I'm thinking is, maybe I could increase the maximum number of submissions per a user to 10. I haven't decided on this yet, I wanted to get everyone's opinion first.

Davideo7 : I think it's just because some people can't run Dreamcast games. I have a friend with a laptop who tried running NullDC before it got added to Vizzed, and he couldn't get it. I think 10 songs could work though.

Even though I totally understand what you said before about these competitions requiring the RGR plugin to show off it's abilities. I still think that the more "upper scale" systems such as dreamcast & playstation should get a pass to some degree on that, because some songs are almost impossible to get using it.

Example: Power Stone 1 has a sound test, but to unlock it you would have to play those mini games on the dreamcast memory card which requires a real dreamcast to do, thus making it impossible to access. I could just play the stage and record it, but there are too much sound effects in the backround that would ruin it.

I don't know about the others, but the sheer amount of hoops you have to jump through to even participate has killed any motivation I've had to enter anything this time around. 

I managed to get a few games working (after messing with the plug-in settings) But then Chrome took a duce and disabled all the second party plug-ins. So despite re-enabling the needed ones. I'm getting that NullDC message again and can't access the 'plug-in manager' menu on the pop-up window.  

Davideo7 : Hmm....I think I could fit in a few more songs!

I've decided that I'm going to keep the limit at 7 songs per a user. It'll be a shorter than usual stream but that's not necessarily a bad thing.


mickmick93 : That's where the challenge comes in, doing what it takes to unlock that sound test. This competition is suppose to be somewhat challenging.
