Just curious what people think were big stories of 2009. What things do you remember that got a lot of coverage or are going to change things.

I've got a few but this isn't any list that I found anywhere....


Michael Jackson's Death and the many other celebrity deaths.
H1N1 - Swine Flu.
Obama sworn in as president.
Balloon Boy

those are just a couple I came up with. I'm interested in finding out what else people remember about 2009.

I think those four things you mentioned were probably the biggest and most talked about throughout 2009. The stupid balloon boy happened in my state I didn't even know about it till David told me

But yea I would probably say MJ or Obama get first prize for this past year in hype.

Another big thing that happened last year was the G20 protests but that really wasn't shown or talked about really.

Other then that all I can remember are terrorists attacks that got stopped from happening, celebrities dying, and all hell breaking loose... 2009 was just horrible.
