my view is that he has done little to nothing in his term to date. he's too preoccupied with passing his health care bill, when half the nation is speaking out against it. and now the senate dems want to deem and pass the bill....what happened to the ways of democracy? i mean, i don't think obama is a bad president...but only history can create a good one. Take Bush for example. Right now, everyone hates him. 50 years from now, if the war on terror is being won/has been won, he will be praised as a peacekeeper. I just don't feel we had a good candidate running in the past election...but can you blame anyone for not wanting to step up to this mess?

I read an article today saying that so far the Obama Administration has accumulated over 2 trillion in debt in only 421 days.

I don't particularly care what the government does as long as it starts to actually get spending and taxation under control. You can't survive as a nation long term with a growing debt. And currently all projections show the debt doubling within the next 10 years.
20 trillion dollars of debt is getting excessive. And that's not including un-funded liabilities like Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid etc that will cost the country even more money down the road.

Wow, and people say he is a good president...

I think people should have noticed that coming considering how much he splurged advertising his presidental campaign.

NO NO NO! I do not think he is good president. I firmly believe he is very radical, I also believe he doesn't care about our views.

Why do you say that? Where is the proof that he does not care about our views, so far he has shown himself dedicated to the American people and not only to the Democratic Party... How has he not cared about people's views?

Look at health care. Him ramming that bill down, and that alone has most likely cost him and the rest of his party their jobs in 2010 and 2012. I don't like how he shut gitmo down and I don't like the stimulus or the bailouts, and I don't like his pro-choice ideas.

I think Obama is a great President he came in facing the mess Bush left but no one is saying anything about Bush, and you are right he is dedicated to the American People, look people are afraid of what they dont understand look at the past presidents and look what they did, so open your mind and look at the deeper picture and let Obama do his job....

Bush was bad....

Obama is worse.

The numbers don't lie. This deficit was not neccesary... but Obama and the left want it anyway.

while I agree with you on the Hitler portion....

who is the enemy right now? Hitler and the Nazi's were an easy well defined target... but who is the war about now? According to Bush it was against anyone who was "against them". It's tough to fight a war when your enemy is not clearly defined.

I think that there will never be a good president again. I think all you can try todo nowadays is try not to be a bad president. There are just too many problems. The only way too fix them would be to have radical changes in the way things are run. And you cant be mad at Obama, hes just another politician. Democrat, Republican they are all the same. You think america would be in better shape if Mcain won? I really doubt it. And enough with the "they rammed this bill down our throats" youve been watching too much fox network lol. If anything i gagged on the bill because it was going down so slow.

Oh, this will be an interesting topic. And, judging from most of the comments, I will be ostracized from this forum forever because of what I'm going to say. I must admit that Obama is doing an average job given the situation he is in, but he has some major flaws. First of all, he's got to stop blaming Bush. That was nearly a year and a half ago, and its not as if Obama has been doing everything perfectly from the moment he stepped into office. He needs to focus less on his agenda and more on the American people. Double digit unemployment rate? Nope, that can wait until we've passed Health Care. War on terror? Nope, we should probably pull out so we can blame *ahem* the previous administration some more. People are unhappy with what I'm doing? Nope, I think I should just set the Census Bureau on them to bug them incessantly with endless phone calls and a very detailed and borderline stalkerish questionnaire that they must fill out be law. I think Obama acts a bit too arrogant sometimes. He expects the terrorists to just waltz away since we are pulling out from Iraq, he expects world leaders to actually give a care and do as he says only because he talked to them, and he expects the American people to love him no matter what he does. It's annoying, yes; obnoxious, and it doesn't seem to be working- his approval ratings are plunging since his inauguration. The "Yes we Can!" idea is starting to lose its appeal and its steam, but Obama acts the same way as he did when he had more than 60% of America on his side. The one thing about Obama that really ticks me off is how he believes that he can blame other people for everything that has gone wrong so far in his administration. Yes, I believe that Bush made some mistakes (THEY MISUNDERESTIMATED ME!), but we all do; we are human. I think its time that Obama sucks it up and takes the blame like a man, he can only get so far before people finally get sick of his blaming Bush for everything.
On the other hand, Obama is doing alright for the position in which he is in. Not everyone here can say that they have been the leader of a country (hopefully none of us can, assuming that most of the audience here can barely drink or vote), so I don't think we truly know the pressure that running a country demands. You think that keeping up with school is hard, try keeping up with a nation! Yes, I hate the deficit that we have because of Obama's spending (it's kind of a slap in the face to Clinton, who proudly projected surplus in 1995 until at least 2020...), and I don't see how he intends for us, the future of America, to pay back trillions and trillions of dollars. For all we know, Obama could be making decisions that ultimately save the fate of America, or he could be messing it up and throwing us deeper into recession, or even a Depression. We can't truly tell from the present, the only way to really know would be to look into the future (any takers?). I'm sure Obama will be hailed in the textbooks from which we learn; the media and the press love him anyways, but we won't be able to truly know if he was a good leader or not until long after he has left office. By then, it would be too late to make a difference, wouldn't it?

drag00n365 : We never fought "hitler", that was mostly the Russians. And we entered WW2 because of the attacks on Pearl Harbor. The war against the taliban in afghanistan was legit, why we are in iraq is another story.

And recently Ive lost any kind of thought that Obama can do anything, besides talk. He Is always talking and never doing anything. It was just a let down because I thought that he would of been different, but no. And you know its bad if your a democrat president and Jon Stewart is starting to make fun of you. Hopefully in the next 2 years he will actually do something productive in a big way.

@ tonetone714

Every country in the middle east (excluding Israel) is supporting the terrorists, and apparently a few in Africa too.

I still say he isn't a good president. For how much worse things are getting, I have to wonder if he is doing this crap on purpose.

Well, I've stated my views before, but I think I should say something again. Although health care for everyone is nice, do you guys realize that the Health Care Bill our president proposed is unconstitutional in fining people who don't have health care? I can't say someone who does that is a good president. Of course most people won't look at it that way, but still, it is taking away people's constitutional right to not have health care.

"Hopefully in the next 2 years he will actually do something productive in a big way."

He won't be able to do anything because he won't have majorities in the house and senate. Whether he will lose both is up for debate, but I find it hard to believe that the Dems will still control both after November is over.
