Dems and Repubs are like a game of tug of war. No matter which side wins you will either end up falling in the mud and being in a worse position then you are now or you will stand on the same ground and will not feel any new change except the change in which you believe in your mind.

Maybe its time we toss the rope, end the fighting between dems and repubs and just for once elect solutions to solve problems instead of people or parties. Maybe that is why we have failed 44 times, maybe that is why we continue living in disgust with our leaders.

United We Stand? I doubt it; not with a system like this which divides us into judgmental and hypocritical liers knowing either way we are all wrong.

Yeah, because whenever one party wins, the other does all they can to make sure that the current administration fails, even when it in the end, damages the country.

but that's all show.... that's to make it seem like there is real opposition and that the "other" party is standing up for Americans when they do the exact same thing the other party was doing once they get into power. It's all smoke and mirrors.

[edit] I'm sure there are a few people in the government with good intentions... but they very rarely get into positions of power. Power is reserved for the corruptible. Not for the moral people.

The war in Iraq is winding down, troops will be out by the end of the summer, and if any one of you bothered to pay attention to actual news feeds instead of the Fox News pundits you'd know that.

Also, he won the Nobel Peace Prize because of his efforts towards peacebuilding... namely, making overtures towards other countries instead of acting like a surly child with a nuke like Bush was doing. I feel it was a bit premature, yes... but he's been pushing diplomacy since before he took office so it's not like they are giving it to him for only things he's done since taking office.

The deficits are big, yes, but he did it because if he didn't we'd be in another depression. He didn't want to do it, but it was for the greater good. It has created 2 million jobs, and he is trying to do more. You know why he had to do it? Because Bush f***ed up and corporations f***ed up, and banks f***ed up... all BEFORE Obama even won the election so how the hell can you blame him for it? Yes, AIG were a bunch of greedy bastards, it must be Senator Obama's fault... that makes complete and logical sense... not.

Obama's big problem is that he's too timid. The dems in general are being too timid right now and they cannot afford it. It is good that he is trying to get bipartisan work done, but honestly the republicans are not willing to even try. If you take a look at the records, they are filibustering EVERYTHING, just to be difficult. It is ridiculous how childish they are behaving and I think it is a disgrace to the country. I give Obama kudos for not just going off on them by now.l

Won a nobel peace prize for doing NOTHING! That's funnier than when Al Gore won for a made up theory about global warming which is unraveling more and more as time goes on. He didn't deserve it and still doesn't. He hasn't created peace... he's only weakened the US.

Big deficits that were so mis-managed it's sad. So much wasted money. And since when does the government create jobs? There is another left-wing LIE right there. The government doesn't create jobs, it drains from the private sector where real jobs are created. The government just steals from me to pay someone else to do something I don't want done more often than not. And spending even more money on that doesn't really excite me.

It's not that the Republicans aren't willing to try... they just don't want public health care. And if you knew anything about how bad public health care can be you wouldn't be on the bandwagon for it either. There is a reason why people come from all over the world to get health care in the US. It's because it's THE BEST!

Obama promised us change; but I don't think skyrocketing unemployment rates, a trillion dollar stimulus that hasn't created any jobs, and higher taxes on the middle class is the kind of change that we need.

Then why are all the people in the US going to Canada and Mexico to buy their meds? And that is firsthand experience.

Once more, I don't believe everything Olberman says either because he has a bias. All reporters have bias. However Fox News has actually made s*** up and presented it as fact, they have deliberately misquoted and then had to issue retractions and generally have proved to be very very poor journalists. I've stated this in other threads with evidence on this board and antireality to which you're only response was "it's the only conservative news outlet". Not good enough, I don't care what your bias is, if you lie to your audience you've lost any credibility you've had.

He's not responsible for all success, do not misquote me. All I said was that he is ending it, like he said he would.

He didn't ask for the prize, in fact he seemed as surprised as everyone. But you don't turn down the Nobel Peace Prize when they give it to you.

And again, the Republicans in the senate are filibustering everything, not just health care stuff, everything. They've basically ensures that there has to be a 60 vote super majority to pass anything. They've done it since the Dems gained power.

Truly as much as i wanted him to be president there is still no good president. Because mostly thr tell loads of lies and then when everyone hates them they they get a new person. So regardless of race he's no different from any president.

Nothing drastic has changed so far with him being in office.....

but when you really think about it.....the ones who really have a grip on everything are the ranks and branches below the president himself.....

So he can only do so much.....

well, the one drastic change would be the national debt and deficit. It is hitting record numbers. The debt is expected to double over the next 8-10 years based on the way spending has been set up by Obama. I'd say that is a drastic change.

Same could be said about Bush, and you have to subtract his total from the previous so the number drops by a bit. I really feel that Obama does not deserve the blame for everything that is going on. The Senate has more than it's fair share of all of this, since they approve everything. Why don't we start holding them accountable for the stuff that is rightfully their domain instead of bashing the President?

Because the President signs every bill that comes out of Congress. What happens under each President gets blamed on that President.

If the legislative branch was going in a direction that Obama didn't like then he could put a stop to it.

Really? They've been going in a direction he doesn't like and it seems that though he's tried they just ignore him.

Another good point you make here JigSaw, Im digging you philosophies man....Your soo right, we make these cliques within the goverment like its high school or something and tell the people to choose a side. Its like a gang. We are all americans so aren't we all on the same side?

Obama is a good president compared to bush. But of course i call him the middle president not to good not to bad. With the situation were in doesn't matter who it is it's going to be tough anyway so whats the point of talking about the person.
