Alright, this thread is about what your favorite Star Wars expanded universe story is. There are tons of books, comics, games and all set in the SW expanded universe, and they all have their unique stories. Some are pre-original trilogy, while others take place afterward.
Spoilers may exist on this forum, but don't go and plot out the entire storyline. Avoid spoilers, but if you must mention them, just know they may exist here. If there is a specific plot twist you love, feel free to mention it. But don't spend a thousand words telling every aspect of a story.

I'm going to start this off with my personal favorite: Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. It's a rather obvious choice, since it is one of the most story rich SW games made. There is a plot twist with excellent foreshadowing, and the characters are strong. Bastilla and Carth make great, rather deep companions to the main character.
But... honestly, as great as the first game was, the plot of the second really only served to make you love the main character from the first even more. It kind of makes him (canonically he's a dude) into an amazing legend.

Just... no to the TOR treatment of Revan. No. Never. Ever.

Alright: What is your favorite story in the Star Wars expanded universe?

That's a really difficult question to answer, it seems like about a quarter of everything in the EU is absolutely incredible, about half of it is mediocre, and that the last quarter of all the EU is junk (Yet I love it all anyway.) 

I really don't know that I could pick just a single story in the EU as my favorite.  But that said, the top three would (In no particular order) be: The Thrawn Trilogy, Tales of the Jedi (Anything in that era really.), and anything from the X-Wing series.
