play4fun : from what I have heard, they are thinking about handing out fines and suspensions. Mostly because this isn't the first time the Patriots have cheated, or pulled this particular stunt in the first place. I think something similar to the Boungtygate punishments is being discussed. 
Now, while it's not trying to intentionally end somebody career, cheated is still very wrong and totally messed up. So, I would very surprised if there are no punishments handed out at all. 

thing1 : Yeah, I think they might do something like that and that is true, the Patriots has cheated before, I also remember that hand spying thing they did to the New York Jets back in the 2007 season, so New England is no stranger to cheating to win, and that is the reason why I don't like that team at all.

Kryptic : Could not have said it better myself. I think Goodell needs to go. He's done a lot more harm than good, in my opinion. 

Kryptic : You know, you do make a valuable good point, the reason why I say so, Brady has really dig himself into a deeper hole with each press conference, and also when you said about the "weather" playing a factor in the game, I agree, it would of happened on both ends, not just New England, so it would still be an even match up between the Patriots and the Colts, and saying it's the weather is a likely excuse that Brady always makes so he thinks he's a victim of all the wrong doings, but he's the one that has been cheating.

If you look at it, they will mostly give the Patriots a heavy fine, but won't DQ them from the Super Bowl and you know on how the NFL is now a days with all the violence and abuse of the rules, it isn't the same anymore to my point of view, I think things should be the way they used to be where everyone follows the rules.

Well, I was looking at Facebook today during a break at work, and I found an article that said a fan started a petition ( currently most signed on change.org ) . It was to have the Patriots DQ'ed from the Super Bowl, and have the Colts and Ravens play each other to see who would get to play the Seahawks. 

That would be something. 

thing1 : That would be very interesting if that could in fact can happen, but you know on how twisted the NFL can be at times, they will go ahead and let the stupid Patriots play against the Seahawks in the Super Bowl, and on what I heard, if the Patriots do end up winning the Super Bowl, they would be a huge boycott against the NFL during the 2015-2016 NFL season including the historic Super Bowl 50 and you know the NFL doesn't want that. So, in a way, I do not want New England to win it, I don't think anyone wants them to win.

Honestly, I think that relying on the less-inflated footballs will work against the Patriots. If they prefer the deflated footballs so much that they deflated them for a playoff game, then they're obviously practicing with them (at least Brady is). Having to move back to the regular pressure will change his throwing accuracy a bit, so I think that'll give the Seahawks enough of an edge to repeat.

I didn't really like the Patriots before, but this solidifies my dislike. I'm ashamed that the league went for 8 years without noticing this (unless they turned their heads the other way).

mrfe : 8 years? Where in the world are you getting that from? 

thing1 : Tom Brady was the one who originally requested that the away team be allowed to bring 12 balls to the game as well, since in 2006 only the home team provided game balls. After the rule was implemented in the 2007 season, the Patriots went from middle of the pack in fumbles to virtually none. It had a tremendous effect on their ball control, and they began doing much better overall.

mrfe : Ah, so you are saying that you think they have been doing this for 8 years, and are just now getting caught. 

thing1 : I'm not the only one who thinks that, either. There have been a few articles on it as well. There's a suspicious drop in the amount of fumbles the Patriots had, right after Brady (and Manning, apparently) pushed for the rule change.

Well, apparently cheating your way through is a way to win a championship, that's apparently the way the game goes.

I just can't believe it that a cheating and worst team in the entire NFL has to win the Super Bowl. I bet you it was rigged again.

I would ask the mods to step in and actually keep the discussion on topic, and not on claims of cheating that have no evidence and have been proven feasible through weather conditions alone, but it's a mod doing most of this. Come on, man.

Hell of a game, though. I thought the Seahawks had it when they went up 24-14. And then when they were down around the goal line, Brady's first half pick was looking more and more costly. That was an incredible finish.

soxfan849 : That final 60 seconds was the most intesnse stretch of 60 seconds I have ever witnessed in any sport. The catch, the INT, the fight. I lost like 60K Viz on the game though so I'm a bit down.

I am rooting for New England (partially because I live here) but I can admit that the Seahawks were in good position to win the game by how the timing ended, and.....they gave it away by calling a pass play half a yard away, 2nd down, about 40 seconds left. That has to be one of the worst mistakes of NFL history. I'm glad Patriots won, but Seattle lost this more than New England won.

play4fun : Fair enough, thanks for weighing in. And I'll wait on the official report before having too much of an opinion, but at this point I do believe New England. Especially with all the tests people have done that show that the PSI changes could have happened from weather condition alone, and the ex-ballboys who came in and said that the refs often didn't actually measure the pressure in the balls.

As for the end of the game, I was shocked when they threw it. After the first run almost got them in, I wanted NE to call a timeout so they'd have time to try to get in place for the tying field goal after Seattle punched one in. I was upset that they didn't call a timeout, even. There's no doubt in my mind that Seattle wins if they just keep handing it to Lynch.
