The free games for the month of August have finally been announced, and I am sad to say that is pretty much another disappointing month. But, they are free, so that is the good news.

Before I tell you the free games, just remember that at midnight on the night of the 31st that Max: The Curse of Brotherhood (Xbox One), Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition (Xbox One), and BattleBlock Theater will all be going back to their original price, and will no longer be free.

The Xbox One will get two free games this month, and unlike the XBOX 360, they will be available all month, instead of 1st - 15th, and then 16th - 30th.

The games for the XBOX ONE are Crimson Dragon and Strike Suit Zero: Director's Cut. (These games are available from August 1st to August 31st )

I have never heard of either of these games, so I looked both of them up, and they both seem mildly interesting. But, then again, I am a very picky gamer, so yeah.

The XBOX 360 games are still going to be Arcade games, which is a huge disappointment.
This month, we get Motocross Madness, which will be available for free and to download from August 1st through August 15th. Sadly, we have to deal with Dishonored, again, and that game will be available for the entire month, actually.

If we got Halo 3: ODST, and maybe Halo Wars in the same month, that would be epic.

If you have any questions about the XBOX LIVE, Games with Gold promotion, I will be than happy to try to answer them.

And as always, constructive criticism and non - harsh feedback is accepted.

The first two months were great: Halo 3 and GTA4. But now, we keep getting crap Arcade games that they are trying to get some attention to. I am surprised we got Dishonored. I might try that after I finish my Pac-Man fix ( which will ultimately turn into a rage ) today.

thing1 : I wouldn't say it has constantly been disappointing for 360. The majority usually were one arcade/ish game and one hard copy available game. As you mentioned, Halo 3 was one of them. They have done Darksouls (I already owned that one, but still great), Dead Rising 2, Sleeping Dogs, Saints Row: The Third, Assassin's Creed II (that release got me to get the other Desmond series), Gears of War (another one I already owned), and a couple others that I can't remember. I also surprisingly a few of the other titles that weren't available to buy in stores (nothing I would become a hardcore fan of, but still pretty good).

I did notice you said we have to deal with Dishonored again. I don't recall that one ever being available with the Games for Gold promotion. What did you mean?

rcarter2 : I think it was available before. I don't know when, though. Like I said, I base my articles off the prices for the site I use, and then I point out a few things mentioned in the said site, and then I add my own two sense.

I got Sleeping Dogs, but haven't started on it yet.
Dead Rising 2 is an arcade-ish game.
Saints Row: The Third was a huge surprise, but about 15 achievements that I should have popped are glitched, so I consider it a disappointment, in a way.

I think AC2 was one of the first ones, back when Halo 3 and GTA4 were released.

Here is a list of the games that have been released one the 360, along with the dates they were available: https://www.gamepointsnow.com/blog/xbox-games-with-gold-full-list/

But yeah, I think mostly, since this promotion started, it's been pretty sad.

thing1 : If you are a GTA fan, you will probably like sleeping dogs. Have you ever played any of the True Crime games? Made by the same people and nearly same gameplay mechanics. It was originally going to be another True Crime game, but there was some licensing things that happened near the end of the development, so they had to change the name. For Saints Row, what achievements glitched? I didn't have that problem. I also forgot Dead Island. That one was better than I thought it was going to be. A tad bit repetitive after a while.

rcarter2 : Most of the city control point achievements, and the mission types, + collectibles.

And I wouldn't call myself a fan. I would really only call myself a fan of racing n general, and Gears of War and Halo. I mean, I liked GTA 4 and 5, I just didn't like them that much to keep them around after I beat the story.

Most games I will try to get the easier achievements, and beat the story. I am not a freak about the achievements like some people are.
