supercool22 :

Most of the material I write averages between 1500-2000 words.  Like I said before there is nothing more frustrating when mistakes like that happen.  It’s an unavoidable thing though because it can happen at any time. It really isn’t dependent on the person who is writing.  Sometimes it’s a simple human error, other times it’s power outages.  If you use a reliable word processing program though you can recover a good portion of your writing if you make a mistake either by hitting undo or in the case of power outages, some processing programs can auto-recover your material.

In my opinion, the technology is much better now as compared to when I first started writing.  I remember times years ago when I had an article nearly finished and would be well within the 1500-2000 word range and would have to rewrite from scratch due to either a mistake on my part or a power outage.  It’s not an enjoyable experience when you have to do that.

It happened with a few of my reviews. I typed up over 1,000 words, only for it to all vanish. Since i didn't have it saved, i had to do it all over again. Not fun at all.

I typed up a nice long flareon analysis with lots of cool, albeit gimmicky sets, then the power went out

I had written a review once, and it took about an hour to type up as I am a slow typer, and it was about 1200 words. I was tired by the end of it, and I wasn't thinking much. I somehow pressed the power button instead of the enter button while I was closing my eyes, and slumped onto the keyboard, deleting it all.

I don't know what browser you use, and I don't know how Eidetic's suggestion compares but..... Lazarus for Chrome has been my lifesaver.  When I was writing reviews, it was often that I lost a huge post and then had a mini- freak out. I highly recommend the extension. It conserves all posts you make for whatever time limit you set it to.  This includes the coding within your post, even if you can't see it (like you can't in the new post editor).
