Tell me what game you think has a terrible story line. For me i think all Call of Duty's have a terrible story line. Thank you! 

I would have to go with ever silent hill game but it is one of my favorite horror games just because of the scares.

The majority of Mario platformers. Call of Duty would beat it any day.

Pokemon.  Here's the story of all the games

Travel around region collecting badges.
Meet team badguy.
Attempt to thwart team badguy.
Thwart team badguy.
Finish collecting badges.
Challenge the Elite Four+Champion.

Aaaaaaand done.

Mario. The story line isn't bad, It's just repetitive.

Plants Vs Zombies. Good game, story line is eh.

TF2. For those who actually care about the story line, it's not that great.

As much as I really love Pokémon and Harvest Moon I think they have really bad and boring story lines.

People are beind wayyyy to blunt about Pokemon, imo. Sure, the gist of it's pretty much the same with each generation, but it's the little things that keep things interesting. Like in Gen 6, this AZ guy... He was really interesting, and it really made the plot feel fresh from the other games.

Duke Nukem Forever had a terrible storyline. The entire plot made little nods towards the fact that Duke Nukem is, just as the entire franchise, getting older. And as a Duke Nukem fan, that rubbed me the wrong way. ^^'

DylanMcKaig: Yes! Thank you for mentioning the Mario platformers. It's the innovative gameplay that makes every Mario game so fun to play (once in a while), but not many realize how much the story is lacking...

This is going to be scary, FF. Now as a FF disliker (Actually I hate the games) I hate the story. It is just so..... boring. And I really did not like it. I get so bored of it that I turn it off. Barbie has a better story line imo. I'm not hating you if you like FF. this is all my opinion.



And the original super mario bros. i love that game but the story sucked.

I'm curious on why people feel the need to aggressively defend Pokemon.  The questions what "what games have terrible story lines?"  I never got interested in Pokemon, I stated my case, I kept things moving.

Now a pair of comments show up to defend it.  Everywhere anyone says something negative about Pokemon, people rise up to defend it.  Why can't you folks just let some people have their opinions.  I don't make fun of anyone who loves the game.  You enjoy something, good for you.  Why not just let me think what I think without countering with your evidence that the game is glorious and perfect and wonderful?

Maybe that's a thread in the making.  I'll consider it.

I have to agree with both of you, since the main events just stay the same in all the games, it are the nice little things that makes them worthwhile.

maguc : Plants VS Zombies doesn't have a real story, I know it's just defending against zombies, but great games don't necessarily need a story to be complete. Do you have Plants VS Zombies 2? The story there is a bit better but also a bit weirder.

warmaker : Actually, discussing about your favourite things is fun, especially when two or more people have the same opinion. Actually, I'm even more inclined to comment on a thread with lots of replies containing stuff I disagree with, to share opinions with them. Like with each Pokemon's storyline, in this case. There's nothing wrong with defending what you like. As long as you respect others' opinions as well. ^^'

Pong has the worst story.

It's about a guy having a conversation about dinner with his wife.

But they keep rebuttling the what each other wants.

After the husband wins eleven arguments, the wife divorces him, and the game is won.

I Wanna Be The Guy on the PC is about the protagonist, "The Kid" that wants to be "The Guy", so he basically wants to give proof o his manliness by carrying a gun and wearing a cape all the time. Fun game, bad story

Ghosts N' Goblins for the NES must have took a lot of people by surprise. Arthur and Princess Prin Prin have just finished having sex (no joke) in a cemetery, and Satan kidnaps Prin Prin, and....yeah

On Action 52 for the NES, the 52nd game is Cheetahmen. The "Action Game Master" was playing Nintendo, when suddenly a robotic arm grabs him by the testicles and pulls him into the TV screen. The Cheetahmen promise to fight for him, and then the game just starts.

Okay, I'm gonna get a lot of hate from this, but Mario. Yeah, some Mario games have plot twists like the Mario and Luigi RPG trilogy, but honestly, it's just the same character rescuing the same damsel in distress over and over again from the same airhead antagonist. But Princess Peach COULD have used her magic to stop Bowser, but NOPE.  

I would probably say pokemon has a weak storyline and it hasn't really changed all that much over the generations, yeah there might be a few new and interesting things thrown in here and there occasionally to make it interesting, but other than that it is basically the same. But I don't think that is what makes pokemon, the story really isn't the main course of the game if you will, it is the experience of leveling up your pokemon and making them stronger that matters. I am not defending pokemon, but I'm simply stating that there is more to it than just a boring storyline. But I think they could definitely change things up a bit and make it different every once in a while. But that's just my opinion. 

While I do enjoy the series Castlevania (classic mostly) doesn't have particularly good storyline to it, I mean it's so tedious of a storyline
