Nah, I barely ever use repels to be honest. Most of the time I just take the few extra seconds to hit "run". Repels do come in handy at times, but I wouldn't call the my favorite items.

Nah, not really. The Super Rod is cool for catching Dratini in Kanto, but that's really about it. Most of the Pokemon you get from fishing aren't that good. It is important for completing the Pokedex, though.

Oooh, you know I might say yes to that. Earthquake is without a doubt one of, if not the best move in the entire game. Almost everything gets it nowadays and it's a free 100 base power attack from one of the best offensive typings in the game, ground. With 100% accuracy! Too bad it's usually found very late in the game, like in the Victory Road for example.

Definitely not. I'm usually pretty good at memorizing the layout of maps, so navigating caves isn't much of a problem for me. The only time I would ever really use an escape rope is if I'm too lazy to exit the cave normally.
